Constructed of oak. The Cabinet has floral carvings flanking the front edges with Lion Head Carvings to the top and bottom. The two drawers are also curved with carving that matches the top pediment. The upper section. With two glass panels in the doors is narrower than the base, and supported by turned carved supports. This French Oak 2 Height Cabinet has been well loved and used constantly, thus accounting for the lovely glow from the aged patina. This cabinet offers good storage having a central shelf to the base and also the the upper section. With an open area for display on the top of the lower section. The two pieces are detachable for ease of transport. There are no major condition issues. However. There are some small details to consider, such as some staining and marks to the top of the lower cabinet. The hardware on the drawers has been replaced and one of the escutcheon panels is missing from the top door. As the photos indicate there are some missing pieces to the turned supports. Definitely antique. We would date this delightful piece to c1880. The cupboard or sideboard base is of pale. Golden oak construction and has many renaissance features. It has two curved-front drawers above two panelled doors with ... moreelaborate carving. The doors open to reveal a large storage area, with a central fixed shelf. The doors of the cabinet are flanked by turned columns, surmounted by lion's heads. I imagine there would originally have been large metal loops in the lions' mouths, easily replaced if desired. The cupboard retains it's original handles and locks, and stands on squat bun feet. The cupboard measures 120cm wide. 55.5cm deep and 105cm high. It has many practical purposes, but wouldst certainly be ideal in size and height as a television cabinet or stand. The piece is in lovely vintage condition. With some chipping to the turned sections on the columns and separation of timbers on the top surface being the only real condition issues to mention. This magnificent piece of Barossa Valley cultural heritage is beautifully proportioned and would stand proudly in your living room. Dining room, study or library. It's solidly constructed from red cedar. With baltic pine secondary timber in the shelving, back boards and drawer internals. As you can see from the photos, it's always been looked after and treasured, with it's condition basically the same as the day it was built over a century ago. It features two upper glazed doors. With original poured glass panes, secured by a brass lock with a decorative hand-tooled leather escutcheon and original key. A beautiful vintage French Louis XV style corner cabinet. Which is a real spacesaver for displaying china, glass or collectables. It is most unusual in design, featuring two sections- a display area to the top and a rounded, enclosed cabinet to the base. It has some age, but is not as old as many of our pieces. We would date it to ... morec1960/70. The corner cupboard is of solid oak. And oak veneer construction. The top display section has an impressive and substantial shell design carved central feature, and applied, curved astrigal-type decoration to the glass door. There are three triangular-shaped shelves for displaying those precious treasures. The base is drum-like in design with a large rounded front. There is wonderful carving to the base. With a recessed, shaped panel. The piece stands on carved, cabriole legs to the front. It retains it's original fittings and hinges. The cabinet has an overall height of 198cm. The top display area is 84cm high. 67.5cm wide across the body and 76.5cm wide at the pelmet. It is 39cm deep. The base section is 84cm high, 77cm wide and 60cm deep. It presents as a real storage and display solution requiring little space! This is a charming piece! It is in lovely vintage condition. The only condition issue to mention is one section of the veneered timber missing from the side at the rear- it is of NO consequence. As it is not visible when the piece is in place in a corner. A sign of real. Quality workmanship, each of the panes is individually set in genuine astrigal style. Each door to the bookcase has a blind base. The doors open in a double/ single configuration, to give maximum access to contents. The bookcase has a simple, square line, and would fit in with most decors. It stands on small legs, finished with brass decoration. There are 3 fully adjustable timber shelves to the interior with the base making a fourth shelf. Additional shelving could be made to fit. The keys appear to be original and thelocking mechanism is still in working order. Structurally the bookcase is very sound. However there are a couple of condition issues to mention. Of greatest significance is some slight warping of the central door, which has resulted in a little misalignment affecting complete closure. There is also some cracking to the timber finish, both issues photographed for your inspection. It also appears that part of the backboard, unseen when in use, has been replaced. The piece is of mahogany construction. The piece stands on bracket feet, and also features rounded sides to the drawer, and flame mahogany drawer fronts for a classically elegant look. Atop the cabinet is its original piece of solid marble, in tones of grey and white. This gorgeous piece would be ideal as a storage unit. Bookcase, linen press or feature piece in any room of the home. The cabinet has a wonderful soft mellow tone to its original patina, and just looks classy! The piece measures 125cm wide across the marble top, and is 155.5cm in overall height. It is 47cm deep on the timber body and 54cm deep with the marble top. It is a very pretty. Though clearly antique, there are no obvious defects to the timberwork and just a few small nibbles, and one more significant chip to the edge of the marble(photographed for your inspection) which does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Enfilade or buffet. Which has been in rural family homes for over 200 years! Definitely antique, we would date this piece to c1790/1800. The sideboard oozes age and character. With incredible aged patina, blemishes and telltale signs of hand-construction. If you want perfection, this piece is not for you. If you want ... morea vibrant, incredible piece of social history, that is as functional today as it was 200 years ago, then read on! The sideboard is made of fruitwood. And has a deep mellow tone. It features curved sides, and has four drawers, two of which are curved and shaped, and four cupboard doors, two similarly shaped. The sideboard stands on bracket feet, and the whole piece is unbelievably heavy- solid, dense timber construction. Simple decoration to the piece is a real indicator of age. Each of the cupboard doors has a shaped. Decorative raised timber panel, but there is little else in terms of ornate decoration. This was, and is, a functional piece. The sideboard is fully lined to cupboards, drawers and even on the inside of two doors. It has a working lock and key. It's hard to describe condition- it's perfect for what it is. There is evidence of old repairs. Pieces of timber spliced into the surface, knocks and blemishes, replaced handles and the like, and I just love it! It looks SO old. On auction I have a corner display cabinet See attached pictures. It has a top display cabinet and an enclosed bottom cabinet. The glass display area has beveled edge glass. A very nice looking china cabinet. It measures 192cm high x 76cm wide. I am unsure how old it is or what type of wood it is made from. We are in the process of clearing out a relatives estate.
