5 Inch Tall Brass Eagle Flag Topper Finial - Left Facing
Very nice Eagle that I'm guessing was originally a finial for the top of a flag pole. I am pretty sure it is brass; it is heavy. The color is right, and it is non-magnetic. It is in really nice condition. It does have a couple of spots on it that you can see in the photos that may be a bit of corrosion. There is a crack on the back side of the right wing. It does not go deep so it may be a crack in the coating(it cannot be seen from the front) It is just under 5 inches tall and the wing span is also 5 inches. It has a 1 inch diameter hole in the bottom and a 1/2 inch diameter hole in the top. I'm really not sure what the hole in the top is for. I SHIP WITHIN THE UNITED STATES ONLY. Up for sale is a really neat amber glass Czecho-Slovakia vintage lamp prism finial.Marked Made is Slovakia-Czecho on the bottom brass.Overall length just over 4"The really neat thing is its coffin shape. These are very cool and definitely unique. I'm not sure if they were originally bed post finials or perhaps fence post finials. Whatever they were originally used for I'm quite sure someone could use these to decorate something. They look to be in the form of perhaps a griffin or some other mythical creature. They have an oriental look to them. They are made of cast iron or some sort of other cast metal. Most the original gold paint still remains. None have broken places.
