Up for bid is gorgeous antique professionally hand carved 3 panel walnut French screen/ room divider only. It is a 3 screen that used to have hinges but these were lost over the years& it has a thin coat of yellow paint. I've seen allot of French carved screens claiming to have the best carvings but they were not the crisp clean quality detail& quality workmanship as this one has when you look up close; even the flowers are great. As shown it was put together in sections or pieces& one part of front middle section near top needs re-glued& has a little chip of wood missing. I'm pressing together in picture to show what it will look like ... morewhen glued& you can see what it looks like in pics not pressed together. It still has it's original panel inserts that you attach fabric to& then fit into back side of screen sections& attach with thin little tacks or nails. These fabric insert pieces show quite a bit of wear from changing fabrics over the years& are free to winning buyer if interested. I would ly screen down& trace outline to make new inserts or use original inserts as a template to make new ones maybe even out of plexiglass? For as old as screen is it only has a few chipped areas mostly where fabric sections fit inside back. 1 little cracked spot on base& some where hinges attach as pictured. There is what looks like glue over& around screw holes where hinges attach. The carvings are as fancy at the bottom as they are at the top where usually it's just the top that's fancy. This beauty was my mothers& I have been storing it for years& want to find a home where it will be loved& displayed. Tallest middle section measures aprox. 6 feet 3 1/4 inches tall. Worn down to the red ochre underneath, the silk panels are in tatters and are either charming or need to be replaced. Shaped and beveled mirrors have been replaced somewhere along the years. Antique Spinning Wheel found in French flea market
This wheel was found in a French flea Market. But I think the country of origin is probably Switzerland. I have not worked on a wheel like this before. And I was impressed by it’s straight forward linear design. The drive wheel crank and the pedal are in the front, along with the flyer orifice. There is an advantage to this design; the drive rod is directly below the wheel crank, so there is no transfer of power laterally to the rear, as in many other types of spinning wheels. It is a single drive wheel. Please note that the orifice is wood. The wheel came with a multi layer felt cradle to hold the orifice end of the flyer, but it had departed this world long, long ago. I added a wooden cradle and covered it with felt, so the orifice tip would ride higher, and be controlled by the tension control wool cord. If any pros out there know better, I would love to hear from you The Niddy-Noddy came with the wheel, and each complete turning is about 6 inches. As you can see, it is very primitive, but it works just fine. When I work on a wheel. I always do my best to make it spin. This is not always an easy process, and can take several days of trial and error. I often try to improve the function of the wheel. In the case of this wheel, I added brass bushings to the top of the drive rod, the crank, front and back. The felt that had held the flyer had worn completely out, and the flyer tension could not be controlled or adjusted. I want to stress that while I spend a great deal of time working on the spinning function, I never know how well it will spin, even though my wife helps me with this process. There is a reason for this. To know how an antique wheel is going to spin, some hours of practice spinning will be necessary to prove the wheel. It would be very difficult to learn on any antique spinning wheel, as a beginner. My wife is able to spin with little difficulty when trying out new spinning wheels by different makers, but she does not have this

Shells, detailed classical designs and typically French"fleur-de-lys" All pieces of the set are perfectly matching and carry the foundry number 53 on back side They show very little usage wear and cleaning signs. This is in excellent condition, looking much newer than it is. This is constructed of a medium color wood, not veneered. We are not experts in identifying wood, but think this might be pecan for the show side, and a different wood, oak or pine for the back construction. This is done with a sort of Country French look with slightly curved legs and the attractive curve detail on the skirt below the drawers. The stand is approx. 27.5" tall, 17.5" wide, and nearly 10" deep. The drawer fronts have lock mechanisms, though there is no key with this table, and brass ring pulls. You can see a couple of little dings on the top, and one of them looks like it might have disrupted the varnish. The piece is of solid walnut construction. A lovely mellow timber, and would be an imposing feature in the entry foyer or hallway. We've not seen a piece such as this in a very long time! This gorgeous console table and mirror is a rare combination of some ornate features on a basically ... morestraight-line piece- beautiful to look at. And not over the top. The base features two drawers with original handles. Two fluted and turned supporting columns, a platform base on bun feet and a backboard. The bevelled mirror has beautifully carved, fluted and turned columns at either side. Above the mirror is a stunningly carved pediment with a central medallion and floral swags. The table and mirror present as a great example of quality late 19th century French furniture in the Henri II style. Together. The piece measures 243cm high, 82cm wide and 41cm deep. The table top is 90cm high. Though clearly antique. There are no structural or major defects. It's in gorgeous antique condition. There are some areas of very light star cracking to the silvering of the mirror, which interior decorators would just LOVE to bits. It's a white iron stand with a porcelain or enamel basin that goes into it. The basin is a very nice buttercream color and would go great with a lot of other colors. The stand has a little spot to put things on about half way up and a towel bar that wraps along one side. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age. Mellow in tone, this washstand or dressing table features a base with two drawers and two doors, opening to a generous sized cupboard for storage. It has a fitted marble top, rather than a separate piece, in a creamy white marble with soft grey vein lines. The dressing table is finished with a raised shaped bevelled mirror, with carved timber supports and elegant carving to the top. For sale is a 5 piece set of French Breton Brittany Minature Furniture. I am told this is Breton furniture style that was made in France around the turn of the century. These type items are outside my area of expertise but we are selling them to settle my parents estate. This set was purchased at a flea market in Pennsylvania about 10 years ago. There is a repair on one of the arms that looks pretty good and there is overall wear. Please refer to photos to get the best impression. All the cups are present for the candles and there are 5 on each candelabra. There are some mini chips or fraying on the marble on some edges but not bad. Oxidation and tarnish is also present on the metal surfaces from age. There is a looseness to the parts that allows the various sections to move and be taken apart. ANTIQUE FRENCH VICTORIAN CHNOISERIE TRAY TABLE BIRDS NEEDLEPOINT GILT WOOD FRAME
We are pleased to offer this extraordinary tray table. This lovely. French Chinoiserie styled table dates to the Victorian era. It features a large and ornate, carved, gilded wood frame as the table top. The legs are permanently attached and the top/tray does not come off. The deep profile frame features a Neoclassical pattern of acanthus leaves with shells along the outer border. There is a painted band of black which separates the inner and outer portions of the frame. The frame houses a beautiful antique petit point(under glass) of intricate birds in a cherry tree. It is quite lovely and colorful and exquisitely accomplished. The table has 4 turned legs. The entire table is giltwood with black over the gilded sections on the legs, the table apron, and a section of the framed top. You can see brush strokes on the black painted finishes ... moreand some of the gold underneath does peek through. There is some chipping and peeling of the black top coat as well. The table is quite striking. We purchased two of these tables at a recent estate sale and have the other, similar table, listed separately. The table is in very good condition for its age. There are a couple of small scuffs to the frame. But they are minor. The legs are good and the table is sturdy but has been braced(underneath) over the years to support it. There is a random nail on the frame face(pic 10) where the frame was attached to the legs. Please keep in mind that this is a very old piece and does have some aging. The petit point is in very good condition with some expected yellowing of the entire piece. There are no frayed areas or rips, tears, etc. This is a very unique antique table and a lovely French Victorian design. The table measures 27" wide and 23" deep(front to back) It is 22" in height. Georgian? French? Antique Swan Accent Cradle Crib- French inspired late 1800's to early 1900's. I believe it is made of Mahogany. Though not certain. It is in very, very good condition considering it's age. It has been in the family for awhile, but I don't know the history of it. There are 4 separate pieces: Frame, Cradle, Swan, and Cushion. The cushion looks to be a later addition(maybe the 50's-70's) Hardware is intact and functioning. Wood details include the French influenced Swan Feature with extended supports and wooden buttons on either side of the cradle to support draped lace of years past. Cradles of this style were made in France circa 1860. I know this cradle is very old, but I do not know the true history or origin of this piece. It could be as old as the mid 1860's too. Antique catholic display case wood religious Madonna Jesus french statue niche
I started with an old wooden antique case. This piece is very old. Around one hundred years old. Pretty large in size. Made well, but fragile in nature. I hand painted it gold, in a few tones of that hue and then I distressed it. I added an image of the Virgin Mary with Jesus, and I made it appear to be older with a few methods. She creates a lovely back drop. When I got this case the shape reminded me a lot of a steeple on a church so I imagined a cross mounted at the top point. I added the crucifix to the top how I imagined it should look. I love how it turned out. I think it is very Italian style and really unique. I am influenced a lot by my time living in Europe. I remember some of my most fond memories were admiring the architecture and also the many niches found everywhere in Germany and Italy of the Virgin Mary. You could be at an ... moreold neighborhood or a city street, or an old alleyway and always find these amazing niches or coves of religious figures built into the homes, and tops of buildings. I enjoyed looking for them. I wanted this one to be old world Italian/European feel. It is a one of a kind and a great piece for your religious collections, to house a statue, or use as an altar. The piece has a bit or rough texture in some places due to its old age. There are no real cracks I see accept one or two on the back that are hidden. It is in wonderful shape for its age but is definitely the chippy shabby style. When the light catches the gold really lights up in such a lovely way. This item was also blessed by the priest from our church. Measures 20.5 tall. 15 inches across, and 4inches deep. Price reduced from 155 to 140.

Antique French Carved Wood Folding Privacy Screen 3 Panels w Mirrors Fabric Blue. Gorgeous antique wood dressing or privacy screen that I found at auction. It had original silk fabric that was torn and damaged. We removed that and placed some varied lace in the sections. BUT this can be removed and the rods are in place so you can install your own fabric. Our finish carpenter did some repair work as well. He replaced back footing section of one panel. See photos. He tightened up some of the loose wood and adding calking. We did not paint over the areas he repaired. See all photos. This is just a stunning screen with top portion mirrors in all 3 sections. The tops featured hand carved wood floral, torch and flame pattern. Painted(not by us) a French blue. Some of the carved sprays of flowers that extend down in to the center mirror are missing ... moresections. The screen can be taken apart and laid flat for reduced shipping. It's a bit tricky to line up all pins with the existing pin holes. See photos. The center screen measures 23.5" wide and is 69.5" tall, the 2 side screens measure 19.5" wide and 66" tall.
