It makes a stunning feature or an impressive wall hanging. Its in good condition for its age- I believe it has been painted in matt chalk coloured paint a long time ago and there are a few small areas where this is peeling. But I think this adds to its vintage character, although you could probably strip the paint off if you wanted to get it down to the bare plaster. This is pretty heavy and being plaster. Here is a fascinating antique or vintage glass block which was salvaged from somewhere. This is about 7 3/4 inches squared with depth of about 3 7/8 inches. You can see that this has some cement or adhesive or something on the some of the sides. I did gently scrub this is the kitchen sink more to get the dust off. But I would think someone could figure out how to clean this up better if they want. Just for giggles, I will tell you that this did float in the sink so this is apparently sealed up. Maybe someone has a place for this or an arts or crafts person can be creative. I guess I have seen people turn these into lamps or lights. There are some scratches on each side, little wear, but what a fascinating item for someone. Hi: For your consideration here is a cool unusual lot of six(6) vintage or antique galvanized steel fence post caps! These caps are about 7 1/4" tall. The outside diameter of the base is about 2 1/2" and the inside diameter of the cap opening is about 1 7/8" The more oblong than circular top hole is roughly 2" by just short of 1 3/4" inside diameter. We found no maker name but the caps are marked with what looks like'91-1915' We are not going to speculate as to whether this is a date mark, part number, or something else but these are not modern post caps and they are heavy duty weighing over 1 1/2 pounds each. The finial hook screws into the ceiling and you hang the chain off that. The white blown glass bulb fits in with three screw fixtures to seal it closed in place. So there are minor signs of wear only when dismantled on the rim where it seals shut as shown in the photos. Inside you can see that the brass is shiny, but the outer side has a dulled unpolished industrial effect that could probably polish up well if you wanted, although I have not tried this myself. This is a reluctant sale as I am selling this due to hard times and consequent move. It realy is a phenomenal item and part of British locomotive history.
