Vintage Brass/Copper Ash Bucket w/Beautiful Branch Style Legs & Leaf Motif
Very unique brass and copper ash bucket made by a very talented and skilled artisian/smith. I've seen quite a few ash buckets. But none with the details of this bucket. Legs to imitate branches and leaf motive to make it even more beautiful. Inspect closely the one-piece ribbed band around the bucket that perfectly meets on the underside of the bucket. The band is secured in place by overlay of material and rivets were used to attach the handles. I don't know the history of this bucket, but I'm sure it's very, very interesting. To me, it looks like a piece that was commissioned along with fireplace tools by a well to do family. Another unusual fact: It weights 6 lbs. and is perfectly balanced. ANTIQUE 1920s CAST IRON FIREPLACE ANDIRONS FROM OLD SPANISH HOLLYWOOD MANSION
NO RESERVE… This auction is for a handsome old pair of Fireplace Andirons. For whatever it is worth. When I purchased these at an estate, I was told these came out of an old Spanish Mansion in the Hollywood Hills called" The Castle" that had been owned by Rock Hudson. Rock Hudson bought the"Castle" house on Beverly Crest Drive the early 60s, and owned it until he died in 1985. The house has likely changed hands several times over the years, and I don't think there is anyway to substantiate that provenance. I looked up photos of the inside of his home on the internet, and found nothing in them that shows andirons closely. I do know many Hollywood stories, get embellished over the years, so I would not put a lot of stock in any story of what belonged to whom. I don't think stories like this one adds anything to the ... morevalue, but is just an interesting bit of Hollywood lore. These Andirons are indeed old 1920s era. And have a handsome design on the front. It looks to me that they have a bit of Chinese design on the front. The front legs look a bit like legs of a Foo Dog. Each one measures approx. 10 inches wide at the front feet, and about 17 1/2 tall. It looks like they were originally painted black, but there is a lot of wear to the paint. There is dark surface rust on the back of them. I have used a yellow pencil to point in a couple of my photos at one of the andirons. I am pointing at the iron arm stand on the backside. That would go into the fireplace opening. It looks to me like the end has broke off at some point, a long time ago. That piece can be removed and replaced if someone desired, or could be used as it is. Both andirons are marked on the back, Pullman, New York 622" There is a single screw post bolt on each one that connects the front piece to the back arm, that goes into the fireplace. These need to be removed for shipping, to save on the cost. When I was removing one of the screws it sheared off(broke) so I drille

Antique Cast Iron Owl Andirons Amber Glowing Glass Eye Fireplace
Antique owl cast iron andirons with amber glass eyes. Condition as shown on pictures- some scratches and pitting to the glass eyes. One of the andirons has a new shiny screw connecting its owl to the horizontal crosspiece that supports the logs(it is loose and causes the owl to lean forward. I believe that it needs a better screw- that should be an easy fix. The glass eyes catch the light from fire and twinkle ever so magically. Each owl is approx. 13 inches tall.

Here is a beautiful set of antique brass. Very detailed and ornate fireplace andirons with cast iron backs marked BENNETT. Claw feet, acanthus leaves around the top, a pattern similar to fleur de lis up the front and side of the top. Very, very detailed; there isn't a part that doesn't have some kind of design on it. The feet alone are double knuckled, detailed and measure 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" to give you an idea of size. Some of the fanciest ones I've seen. They are in excellent condition. Each one measures 23" tall. 18" deep, and 10" across the front. These are quite heavy.

This is a beautiful fireplace/ mantle combo which is a great architectural piece from I think the 1800s. Maybe older. I bought it as a focal point/ fireplace for Imy Victorian home which doesn't have a fireplace, and had used it for years without an actual fireplace, but am selling it now to accommodate a piano! It is 6' 8" 80" w. x 52" H. The fireplace opening is 43"w x 38& 6/16" h.The bookcase encompasses part of the lenghth being about 12-14" wide on the left side if looking at it head on.The bookshelves are moveable by way of 8" long wooden"pegs" The mantle is about 9.5" deep I believe. The paint which is hard& glazing is a pale pale pinkish/taupe color. It would be gorgeous I'm sure if refinished with the rich dark wood that barely peeks thru the cracks. This is an absolutely stunning pair of large antique ornate solid brass Victorian fireplace andirons. They are made from heavy brass and exquisite ornate detailing throughout. Footed with very detailed. Three dimensional claw feet and heavily embossed lion heads in between with beautiful scrolls completing the composition. The shaft is also very detailed and topped with a large multi-level brass finial. The back wood rests are made from solid cast iron. And have a brass plating on the top with a flame finial. This is a historic and authentic. Original, and very unusual vintage, turn-of-the-century natural gas fired stand-alone cast iron fireplace/mantle piece from the New England area. Not too many of these around. The unit measures about 36" wide X 7" deep X about 48" in height. The inner hearth area measures approximately 20" wide X 20 1/2" high. There is a cast iron center boiler main section behind the decorative cast iron(pictured as main section) which forms the majority of the mantle and fireplace piece and which has. At it's base, a decorative, functional, and exposed gas log(shown in silver) This boiler center section is itself a very. Very heavy cast iron structure. estimate is 150-200 lbs) There are two cast sides which bolt on, the top crown unit, and then the flat cast iron top piece. If the unit were sandblasted and resprayed it would look stunning. The exterior decorative cast pieces are artfully done and are part of the metal casting. Beautiful Antique Victorian Era Fancy Cast Iron Fireplace Front Pediment 19 lbs. I am still listing new items from Indiana. And have a boatload of new things from the flea market too. Lots of primitive antiques, farm finds, folk art, and the usual wacky Maureen stuff- you don’t want to miss this week! Here is a drop-dead-gorgeous Victorian era cast iron fireplace front for you- ready for your hearth or just beautiful decor. You won't believe the heavy 19 lb weight- and it's all cast iron. Too. This beauty has a lovely fancy scrolly design in the center, and it's most recent coat of paint is jet black. Sometimes black comes off looking a little grey with my camera, but it's jet black for sure. This is only one of many many coats of paint- you can see other colors where the paint is very shabby chippy worn- more so on the edges ... moreand highest relief areas- see photos 4-11& 14, but there's small spots of wear in other areas of the body too. The color before the black looks to be a buttery yellow(best seen in photo 4) On the backside as seen in photo 20, there's literally drips of paint from days gone by. The same yellow mentioned, as well as a rose color and light green can be seen) I don't know if that's paint layers from painting this front, or drips from the wall(which is what I think) but it's all part of the very cools story of this oldee! The many layers of paint have protected this beauty well, and there's very light surface rust in the spots where the paint is worn down to the metal- minor, especially for the age. It measures 27 3/4" tall and 18 3/4" wide. It's about 1" deep measuring from the back to the highest relief areas in the front. Each foot on the bottom has one screw mounting hole from when it was in place. It's dirty, and needs a good bath- I have not cleaned it in any way. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition- built to last and oh-boy it has. What a treasure! At this weight, it will be expensive to ship to some locations,

Incredible carved overmantel - Eastlake with distressed mirror
This is a rare Eastlake overmantel. It has various carved and spindle design throughout the piece. The glass is bevelled with the original distress. The large middle piece is intact with most of the small square pieces except two surrounding it in good condition. There were originally mirrored panels in each of the four surrounding squares. Only one remains. The design works fine without them and the remaining piece could be cut and used to replace the two little squares. The Dimensions are: 56 in. H x 68 in. W x 12 in.
