All the gold appliques are the same shade of gold and I think pertain. Two of the pieces have a red silk lining and the other two have gold silk. One side is silk cloth of gold. With elaborate raised goldwork motifs. The other side is soft purple silk. Embroidered in silks and decorated with silver sequins. The edges of the stole are joined by a metallic gold cord. With two superb metallic tassels which have bullion fringes with thickly coiled wire'caterpillars' The bullion fringe at the bottom of the stole also has these'caterpillars' The gold side of the stole is edged with metallic trim. It is made of'cloth of gold' and is extravagantly decorated with raised goldwork embroidery. The motifs are thickly padded and covered with gold wire of different textures. This came from one of the OMI mission's in the N.W.T. of Canada. It is a vintage piece. Likely dating from the mid-1900s. My dad collected this from his best friend who was an Oblate Missionary in the N.W.T. This is in really good condition and has seen light wear. There doesn't appear to be any stains. But, there are some loose seams- under one arm and around the neckline. This is an easy job for any seamstress.here are minor stains, no rips or tears. The gold thread is exquisite. This is a stunning piece and would be a great addition to any religious artifact collection.
