Vintage Oak School Library Laboratory Desk and Stool
What you are looking at is a vintage high-top style desk with stool that belonged to my father. He acquired it as surplus from the Philadelphia School District(where he worked until he retired) But I don't know much more about it. It has a trademark from John E. Sjostrom Co. on the underside of the stool as well as the school district's tag. My guess is that it's from the 1940's or earlier, but have not found much information on it, so don't take my word for it. Being a used desk from a school, it has etchings and writing on it from students on the top of the desk as well as the stool, but it looks to still be in good shape considering it's likely age. I tried to capture this in the pictures. It looks like it may have had a drawer in it originally under the desk top, but we never had it. It's a cool piece overall, ... moreand I'd love to keep it, but I have no room for it. The desk stands approximately 41 inches tall, 28 inches wide and 25 inches deep, and the stool fits under it. This is an Antique Oak"S" Roll Top Desk with raised panels that has been beautifully restored. This desk is from my Grandparents home as I can not ever remember not seeing it there and I am almost 50 years old. I do not have a maker on this desk but have to believe that it is from the early 1900's. I would love to display this in my home. But my home will not accommodate it. It is 54 inches long. 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall. It is Oak and it has 4 drawers on the left hand side and 3 drawers on the right hand side. There is a brass plate in which to lock the desk. But I do not have a key for it. The colors and details are beautiful. With it being so old. There are some imperfections as you can see. On the left hand pull out there are little holes in the wood. Not sure if they were put there by someone or if something happened ... moreto the wood. On the back there is a knick of wood missing as you can see in the picture. Two of the drawers bottoms have been replaced and two of the drawers have what looks like as stains, but it does not get on anything. RaRe Antique Wolverine Oak Library Desk. 4 column Empire style, America, Design 5121 This is a solid oak library table. With no veneer, no plywood. It measures approximately 42" x 26" x 30" high. The drawer measures approximately 22" x 21" Wolverine label inside of drawer. Drawer is dovetail construction. It was made by the Wolverine Manufacturing Co. Detroit, Michigan which was organized in 1887 and ceased doing business around 1912. There are a couple of water stains; does need a good cleaning. It will add a lot of character and charm to any room. This was my Grandmothers table for many years and then given to my mother and then myself. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Navy Machinist's Standing Desk
This is an old solid oak standing desk workbench taken from off a Navy ship. It was used by a machinist. There is a center drawer that pulls out with a tightly woven heavy cotton cloth base that was used to catch the little parts as the machinist was repairing.whatever needed repair. There is a lip around three sides to prevent items from falling off. Two top drawers. Three smaller drawers on either side. Wonderful carved legs. An awesome piece. Antique 5' wide Oak Roll Top Desk and leather upholstered swivel oak chair
Lovely Oak Roll Top Desk with Oak Chair with leather upholstery. You can tell from the photos there are some scratches and wear on the leather seat of the chair. The cloth underneath the roll top part is starting to show signs of wear and could be developing a split on the left side. The desk comes apart into pieces for moving. Have owned for 25 years and used daily. Photos taken with and without flash to show off the warm oak colors.
