Fine Staffordshire Stoneware Brown Transferware Figural Pitcher c1837- 1845 ~ Marked Everard. Colclough& Townsend ~ Birds of Paradise ~ 6 1/2" high ~ about 6 1/2" from spout to handle A lovely scalloped rim pitcher with figural serpent handle and beautiful brown geometric transferware pattern around the top. With birds of paradise and flowers around the middle, enameled in green, blue, pink and yellow. The textured snake handle has a strange face at the end and painted with a bright green stripe down the middle. It is transfer marked on the base'StoneWare EC&T BIRDS OF PARADISE No. 1' This mark is shown on the'A-Z of Stoke on Trent Potters' website as the Everard. Fine ENGLISH REGENCY PERIOD Cream Pitcher-Well Decorated-NR!
Up for bid is a very fine Regency period English bone china cream pitcher. Circa 1830. The pitcher is 6 inches long by 4 inches wide and stands 4 1/4 inches tall at the top of the handle. It has a nicely scrolled leafy handle and stand on three scroll feet. It bears a decorator’s mark of“615/ X” as shown. Condition on the pitcher is quite good. There are some minor scratches and wear to the decoration. But not much. There is an original firing flaw on the base near one foot, but no later chips, cracks or repairs. English Staffordshire or Sunderland Pearlware Pink Lustre Pitcher c1820 ~ Sailors Farewell Jug ~ Black Transferware Illustration and Flowers ~ 6" high ~ about 7 1/2" from spout to handle An antique English porcelain bulbous pitcher with the Sailors Farewell illustration and verses. The transfers of the poems were not carefully applied and the letters appear cut off in places but this is all in the making. The main illustration shows the wife and children leaving the sailor with the ship in the distance, the other side of the jug has a verse'I envy no one's birth or fame' surrounded by a flower border. The rim and spout is painted with pink lustre and the pink lustre was painted throughout in squiggles. In overall excellent condition; there is no major damage to the piece but there is some beige staining to the pottery(probably ... morean over burn? mostly around the middle that fades to the bottom. This could be professionally cleaned to appear all white again but even as is. It has a very attractive display. The handle and spout are fine and except for around the top rim, the lustre is remarkably intact. There is one chip under the footrim that isn't seen when upright. Below. Reeded handles with elaborate flower and leaf terminals. It is painted in black crosshatch style with Elijah sitting by a tree with two ravens bringing him food. Elijah's face, hands and the cookies are washed in pale orange. There is written beneath the drawing'Kooninge 17.2-6' which could be a bible verse or signature. Melon shaped body supported by a lobed foot, rising to a high spouted peaked rim with curving spurred handle, the body blue sponged at top and bottom with central colorful hand painted decoration of a peafowl on each side. Lovely Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink & Copper Lustre Pitcher ~ GRAPE ~ c1840 NR
A Staffordshire Gaudy Welsh Pink& Copper Lustre Pitcher/ Jug c1840 ~ Gaudy Welsh Grape Pattern Molded Pitcher ~ 6 1/2" high ~ 6 1/2" across from handle to spout First Note on this jug: Ignore all the minor imperfections in the enamel and white glaze you see in these pics; this is another of those times I have a piece I love so much and photograph to be horrified by how many little dings show up. That's the good and bad part about very large photos; they will accurately show you what's there but they don't give you a sense of the physical presence of the piece. This small jug looks fantastic on display. It is full of color and lustre, and although it is not a rare Gaudy Welsh variety it is one of the nicest I've owned. The pink lustre frond background is very vivid as well as the copper lustre detail overlay on ... morethe cobalt. As you can see in the pics, the jug is molded in six panels with leafy details on the handle and top rim. There is a tiny bit of discoloration at the very rim of the spout. And there is random flaking to the white pottery; mostly seen on the handle but I wouldn't call any of it disfiguring. There is also wear or flaking to the red enamels on the most protruding parts of the jug, probably caused by bumping into other pieces or rubbing. Overall. This jug is beautiful to look at and wonderful to hold. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Here we have a most unusual antique elephant figural 19th century pitcher/vase. It is a very fine porcelain and features a figural elephant as the spout. Also has four large open mouth figurals as feet. Handpainted florals with butterfly in gold gilding. In very good condition, with small hairline as shown, nothing major, but mentioned. This is an outstanding piece of early porcelain. Not sure who made it maybe, Worcester, Amphora, will let you decide. It measures 8 5/8" high from top of handle to bottom. And is 6 5/8" across. It has mostly a gray blue transfer pattern inside and outside the top rim, along the handle, around the base, and has 2 panels of people looking at a castle in the distance. The people are multi-colored. There is some discoloration on the handle and on bottom and there is a crack along the bottom. see pics) Just a beautiful example of transferware ironstone pottery in a romantic form and scene. 1850s Staffordshire Blue Transferware Transfer Jug Pitcher Pantheon NR
Fresh from an estate near Gettysburg. PA, I am pleased to offer this large Staffordshire transferware pitcher/jug and I believe it dates to the 1850s. The pitcher measures approximately 10.5" tall(to the top of the lip) and is in remarkably clean condition for its age. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and only a minor bit of discoloration to a small area of the interior bottom(see photo) It is a medium blue transfer depicting Greek ruins.
