MUST SEE Art Nouveau Deco Wilkinson Staffordshire Chamber Set Wash Basin Pitcher POPPIES Pre Cliff click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge Description Simply spectacular c. 1900-1925 Wilkinson Royal Staffordshire very large wash bash basin and pitcher with stylized poppies. Marked as shown in photos on base with the Wilkinson crown mark used post 1896 and before the switch to the the Clarice Cliff marks in the late 1920s. The design outline is transfer and then they are beautifully hand painted. The Basin measures about 16 1/4" in diameter and about 5 1/2" tall. CONDITION: Fine crazing throughout. Minor irregularities along the top rim. A small blemish near the bottom as shown in photo. The Pitcher measures about 12" tall and about 9" wide with handle. CONDITION: Some light very hard to see crazing; can see it ... moreon underside of base. There is a tiny nick in the body with a very faint hairline(about 1" or so on exterior) You can see it more on the inside. All in all. In fine shape. None of these very minor issues affects the appearance of the piece. It presents beautifully in real life! PLEASE SEE ALL THE PHOTOS BELOW. There was a gradually transition at Wilkinson from the more traditional Victorian motifs of the late 1900s to the bold Art Deco designs of Clarice Cliff of the 1930s. It is interesting to note that Clarice Cliff came to Wilkinson in 1916 when she was only 17 years old. Her interesting drawings brought her to the attention of the owner of Wilkinson and he let her experiment on some old stock blanks. By 1927. She was off studying in London and Paris. She then returned to Wilkinson and by 1929, her designs went into full production and the Wilkinson marks were changed to include her name. Some of her designs, like Firs, are known for their'stylized glimpses of the natural world' These poppies, with their deco style stems, are likely a precursor of the designs to come. Pinder Bourne Co. Antique Pitcher Nursery Rhyme Dog Cat Mouse Art Deco Handle
Antique Pitcher This unusual 8 1/2" tall pitcher was made in Staffordshire by Pinder. Bourne& Co. which was purchased by the Doulton Co. in 1877. It measures 3 7/8" in diameter at the base and just over 3" in diameter at the top. The decoration is just plain stunning: a frightened cat sits in a tree with a dog at its base on one side, and the same cat has trapped a mouse/rat with one paw on the other. The words"This is the dog, that worried the cat" are written on the base. There is light wear to the gold trim on the handle and a very very faint 2" hairline from the top(visible in the 6th picture above) Still, a wonderful piece! Antique English Art Deco Pitcher in Green & Silver with Martin Hanley Pewter Lid
Wonderful English Art Deco pitcher in rich green glaze with silver luster details. The removable pewter lid was made by Martin Hanley and pivots open(because of the weight at its back edge) as the pitcher pours out its contents. Really delightful and simple technology! Height: 6 3/4" width 4" 7"wide including lip and handle) Appears to hold about a quart. Water pitcher meant for a drinks bar? Syrup pitcher? Condition of ceramic jug is excellent. With no chips or cracks. Some of the silver luster has worn off, however(note my close up photos, especially of the handle for specifics of the condition) I'm not sure of the maker, but the base has number 392 and an X painted in dark red. This auction is for a Lovely Antique Art Deco Porcelain Pitcher and Washbowl Set made by Hollinshead& Kirkham. H& K of Tunstall England. It is Beautifully Designed with a Pair of Long Tailed Birds flying above oversized Colorful Flowers on one side of the pitcher and a group of flowers on the other side against a white porcelain background. The flower motif is carried through on the side of washbowl. The pitcher measures 13 1/4 inches tall and the bowl. Which has 10 sides, measures 16 inches across. I believe the set dates to the early 1900s. There is age-appropriate loss of the gold trim on the edges of both pieces. A small area below the lip of the pitcher appears to be smudged(photo 10) The bowl has a small chip in the edge with a crack that extends about 2 1/2 inches from it(last two photos) Even so. Antique Empire Ware England 1930's floral art deco pitcher bowl basin set
Found this item at an Estate Sale. Just wonderful. I don't know much about antique/vintage items. But this is marked ENGLAND Empire Ware and has some numbers on the bottom of both the pitcher and bowl. This set is very large. The highest point of the pitcher measures almost 12" and the bowl is slightly over 16" wide. This is a set and the floral designs match perfectly. The set is in very very good condition. The gold accents"rubbed" off in some areas. I tried to show this in the photos. There are no cracks in t he item. There are s few small smudges throughout the piece. These are very small and would not show in pictures. The slight wear does not detract from piece. Please read my feedback and you will see that you have no worries. For sale is a Large Antique Art Nouveau Deco Ironstone Ceramic Pitcher. Unmarked Though Possibly Royal Doulton. The pitcher measures 7 inches high and 8-1/2 inches wide(handle to spout. This is an incredible piece though it does show wear and crazing. As far as damage goes, there is a small chip on the inside rim and chips on the spout(last photo. My guess is this is probably English in origin though it has no maker's mark.

No Chips, No Repairs Size: 7 7/8" Tall 6 7/8" Wide from Rim to Outside Handle Weight: 1 lb. 9 oz. Condition: Fair The Paint seems to be peeling off everywhere. Other than that it's in great shape. Nice and sound. I wonder if the paint job was just someone's craft project. Or maybe this is chalk ware. I really don't know if it's old or a massed produced newer item. Awesome Gilded Art Nouveau Tall Water Pitcher made by KPM. Krister Porcelain Manufactory. It is made in Germany it has the KPM with Barbwire mark and the number 795 also a woman's name. It is a light Pink color with White and Pink Flowers and the Gold. It is in great condition, no cracks or chips, the paint is bright and crisp. It needs to be cleaned but I am not about to do that, there is a few marks from age and use but overall it's in really nice condition.It measures 8" in high with out the lid, 9" in with. Thanks.
