Large Antique Original Rococo Revival Wall Mirror: Gold Gilt Gesso; c 1840-70
This period Victorian Rococo Revival wall mirror dates from c.1840-1870. It is conducted of wood covered with gold gilt gesso. There are ornate carvings of floral designs(see pictures 4-8) and four desirable grape clusters(see picture 8 for an example) And the scrolled crest is very detailed and certainly accents the remainder of the frame. The mirror and frame is in good original found condition. The mirror itself is in very good condition with no known cracks or other damage. The wear is consistent and appropriate for the age and use. There are some minor chips of gesso and one section(see picture 9) has some small breaks in the gesso. In picture 10, there is one piece that would need to be reattached. The gold gilt paint is consistent over the entire frame and is still a good vibrant color. The original back is wooden and has the original ... morehanging wire( see picture 11) The approx. measurements are: 69" L; 32" W; and sets out from the wall a maximum 11 3/4" With a minimal amount of restoration, this period mirror would be the focal point in any setting. Fantastic Italian Mirror! Wonderful small ornate and gilded mirror from Florence Italy. Mirror measures 5.5" x 4.75" and is just great. Excellent carving. The gilding is near perfect and the overall condition is excellent. One small spot of roughness to the gilding on one corner(see photos) Does not detract at all. The backside is the great traditional florentine paper that you see on most of these small mirrors. The hanging loop is missing but it would be very easy to add a wire and hang either direction. this is a stunning vintage hand carved wooden convex wall mirror. it is a very large mirror and has a wonderful gold gilt finish. the mirror is circular and has a convex domed shape. the top is a large very ornate eagle with wings spread. He stands on the mirror with a long olive leaf in hand. the mirror has many dimensional spheres running around the whole border of the frame. the bottom also has very dimensional ornate detailing with a stylized floral design. the frame measures 30 3/4 by 22 1/2 inches. already has a hanging wire on the back ready for mounting. it is in great shape and no pieces missing. the actual convex mirror is fading a bit but still does work as a mirror. This is a small vintage gold gilt gesso wood wall mirror. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I am unsure of it's age. It is unmarked. It is decorated with 2 eagles and it measures 9 1/2" tall. In very good used and vintage condition, there are a few small spots of missing gesso along the edges. In addition, there are some black age spots on the mirror itself. This is an excellent antique wall mirror in a wooden gold gilt frame with floral gesso accents and border all the way around. It looks like the gold was re-painted and there is only one tiny chip missing from the frame and one spot that was touched up. Otherwise, it is near-perfect. The mirror is also excellent, thick and heavy, crystal clear throughout, with only a few small black spots from age. The paper is intact on the back and there is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 14 1/4" x 29 1/2" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Excellent Antique Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Rectangular Beveled Wall Mirror
This is an excellent antique rectangular wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with floral gesso accents. Both frame and mirror are in very good condition. There is no missing gesso on the frame. But it does look like it was re-painted a few times. The paint is a nice, rich, metallic gold that is smooth and even, and a good color for the age of the mirror. The glass is beveled and seems heavy and thick, images are clear throughout, but it has a faint streakiness to it with a few tiny specks of missing silver. The back has been re-covered with paper and there is a wire for wall hanging. The outer dimensions of the frame are 17 3/4" L x 31 3/4" H, and the mirror measures 14" x 26" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Antique Victorian Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Framed 3 Section Etched Wall Mirror
This is a stunning Victorian wall mirror with an elegant gold gilt wooden frame with gesso accents that is separates the mirror into three sections. There is a beautiful floral and stripe border etched into the back of the glass on each end. The mirror is in good condition overall with a few small spots of missing silver and faint cloudiness in a few areas. But mages look crystal clear throughout. There are some shallow scratches and scuffs on the far right mirror section that is slightly visible in the photo of that section. The frame is excellent with no missing gesso. The gold finish looks very good with only a few touch ups that were done in matching paint and are not obvious. There are a few tiny chips of paint missing, but they are not noticeable unless closely inspected. This is a long mirror, measuring 54" L x 18" H. There ... moreis a wire on the back for hanging, but it is a little bit long and is visible when the mirror is hung. The paper backing is no longer intact, but the cardboard panel is there and there are small square nails all the way around holding the cardboard and glass in place. I have wedged some extra cardboard pieces behind some of the nails that were touching the glass, and I will make sure to fill in any loose spots or exposed glass on the back with extra cardboard before shipping. I will place pillows over the top, wrap it well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Vintage Wood Gold Gilt Decorated 67" Long Hanging Wall Mirror
This is a vintage or antique mirror in a gold gilt decorative wood frame. It is long and hangs on a wall. The top oval portrait section tilts forward at an angle. I bought this mirror 30 years ago at a high end estate sale. I fell in love with it. It is very beautiful. It has been hanging in my formal living room in smoke free home. I am not a business person or dealer so will describe it in detail. It is in original condition that I bought it. It is 67" long top to bottom and 20 1/2" across the mirror. The top piece is an oval portrait 18" long and 15 1/2" wide at the wood decoration near the base. The picture is a woman on cardboard, the glass is oval flat glass. The Oval wood around the portrait has little decorative add ons, and pieces of the add ons are missing. The wood carving on the sides also has chips and cracks, ... moreand the back of the wood is frayed. I have all this in the photos. The mirror looking glass is gently carved on the top 2 sides. The mirror is rectangular in shape(except for the top) and this section is 48 1/2" by 20 1/2" The gold wood mirror section also has little decorative wood beads, and some have fallen off. The back is all kinds of cardboard and peeling paper. Again I have not done any restoring. It is very heavy with a delicate top oval section and I do not feel competent to try and mail, so it is Local pickup only.

Antique Vintage Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Framed Floral Etched Wall Mirror
This is a charming antique wall mirror with elegant floral gesso accents on the top and bottom of the frame. A beaded scroll and leaf pattern etched into the back of the glass at the top of the mirror, and three flower screws holding the mirror snugly in place on the frame. Overall condition is very good with no missing silver on the mirror or gesso on the frame, and only very light, almost completely unnoticeable cloudiness and a couple tiny black spots on the glass. There are a few scuff marks on the outside edge of the frame where the pink primer is showing through. It still looks fantastic as-is but could be easily touched up. The cardboard backing is intact with a tear along one side. There is a wire attached for wall hanging. The outer measurements including the frame are 12" W x 28" H.
