There is a small spot on the mouth of the jar where it wasn't completely covered with the brown glaze. I believe any other imperfections I see are only production flaws. It is a 1 gallon shoulder/whiskey jug. It has the maple leaf logo on the front. The jug is about 10.5 inches tall and just under 7 inches in diameter. It was preowned but was very well taken care of. I see a few shallow chips on the front rim(where the white portion begins) There is a 3 inch rough section along the rim on the back, as well as a small hairline crack. There is a small spot on the mouth of the jar where it wasn't completely covered with the brown glaze. I believe any other imperfections I see are only production flaws. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Nice old one gallon whiskey shoulder jug from Western Stoneware Co. in Monmouth. IL. It has been used and shows some wear mainly around the bottom. There is a surface crack around the bottom(pic. 4) but the jug doesn't leak. The bottom edge has a couple of chips, see pics. 5-6. There are a couple of spots where the brown shiny glaze wasn't applied uniformly at the factory. I do not have a cork for this jug. Shipping allows for double boxing. Antique vintage quart+ maple syrup whiskey jug circa 1800's. For its age it is in good condition. Has a chip at the lip otherwise no cracks chips damage of any kind. Great color from unique alkalide manufacturing process giving a light dark coloring effect. Measures 7.5" high and 6.5 inches wide Packed carefully and shipped with insurance.

Welcome to my sale of this wonderful wine or whiskey stoneware jug/bottle. It stands 11 inches tall and is 3 inches at the base. Near the base it is imprinted with PKO74. It is a beige color and the mold marks are vertical in the body and horizontal at the top. The bottle also has a great thick lip.
