This is an older, larger mark and is more blue than it appears ... morein the pictures. Approx. 10-3/4" high and 10-3/4" wide(outside rim to outside rim) There are some pretty heavy"drips" in the rim glaze as pictured. And some flea bites along the bottom edge. The largest is pictured and is an old chip as shown in the pictures. With plenty of character. There is also as small stress fracture on the bottom edge but that was done before firing as on closer examination you can see it is glazed over. It does not go through the crock nor does it appear to run any danger of opening or expanding. On the backside at about 2 o'clock from the vintage chip described above is a 3 armed spiderweb(almost a peace symbol without the outer ring) but it is very hard to capture in a picture and does not seem to be in the glaze but, again, under it. There is also a minor amount of crazing on the bottom inside of the crock with has discolored with age as shown. It is limited pretty much to just the bottom of the crock however and, on a whole, the crock is in very good condition. Please look carefully at all twelve pictures provided and consider my feedback. I generally over describe flaws as I would much rather you be pleasantly surprised than even slightly disappointed. Price includes free shipping within the lower 48 States. I think they may be 5 gallon judging by the measurements of others that look similar on eBay. They measure approximately 15 inches tall by a 10 inch diameter. Large and heavy. I've never used it to hold liquid- only for display. Sorry. I've never looked up the history or maker. Measures about 13" tall and is marked with the Number 2. Measures about 9" diameter on the bottom. It has lots of crazing overall. A couple of chips along the bottom edge, and one hairline crack along one edge that doesn't go around the bottom or up into the glazed area. I've had this for 20" years and there is been no change in the crack. Vintage Stoneware Crock Jug - 2 Tone Brown/Tan & Off White
Vintage stoneware crock jug. The jug is a 2 tone brown/tan and off white. The jug is approximately 11" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter(measured on bottom) tape measure shown in photos as well. The jug is not perfect and does have some wear but just adds to the character of the piece. I tried to capture all main wear in the attached photos. There are some chips along bottom edge. An area of crazing on one side, a couple stoneware imperfections on one side in the brown area(doesn't look to be chips- looks to be be from when made) I have found no cracks. The neck looks to have been hand formed and the handle to be applied. Nice item. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Great looking blue speckled Western Stoneware Monmouth. Ill. jug. It measures 8 3/4" tall to the top of the crock, not including handle. Measures 6 1/2" across at the lid. It is in great shape with no cracks. It has a spigot on the front and a wire handle with wooden handhold. The inside is clean. The top knob on the lid has a maple leaf impression on it. Up for your bidding consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made in the USA. On the front in gold is a crest with words that appear to be Latin. Under the crest it says in gold Spring'71. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CROCK JUG CERAMIC STONEWARE BROWN ON TAN VGC!
Up for auction is a nicely preserved stoneware crock jug. Brown on tan, with several superficial rim chips or divets that do not compromise the integrity of this jug. It is 12" tall and has a base diameter of 8.75" and the actual mouth diameter of opening is 3.5" There are rounded grooves in the upper jug where an old handle may have once existed but has not survived. This little jug stands about 4 inches tall and is about 3 1/8 inches across at the center. The last picture is an attempt to show its size next to a Pepsi can. The pictures do enlarge. So hopefully you can judge its condition. There are a couple of small maker type marks on the jug(the white spots are reflections) and the bottom has a chip on the edge. The top of the jug is great. VINTAGE STONEWARE CROCK WATER JUG CIRCA 1930'S
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This is a lovely vintage stoneware crock water jug circa 1930’s. The jug features an aluminum construction that has a waterspout on the side; lined with stoneware.The jug has its original black wooden handle with original aluminum lid and rubber lined internal stopper. The jug measures approximately 8” in diameter 11” tall. The mouth measures about 3 1/2” in diameter. The crock liner is in good shape even with slight damage around the opening as shown on the photos. The aluminum is scuffed and rusting consistent with use over years of storage and some surface oxidation but overall it is in very good condition.
