This vintage or antique beige and dark brown stoneware liquor jug is marked"A. C. Brauer Wholesale Liquor Dealers 390 Jackson Ave. Jersey City. N. J. in black or very dark blue. The half gallon jug(it actually holds about 8 oz. more than that) sits approx. 8 1/2" high and is about 5 1/4" across at the bottom. It is in very good condition. There are a couple of very small chips in the dark brown glaze. A few small chips in the bottom near the edge(not visible unless turned over) and a light area in the beige glazing(see last photo) I think this is a fairly uncommon jug; at the time of listing I saw no others from this company for sale anywhere. This small vintage or antique dark brown glazed stoneware pitcher features a rough raised design all the way around and an extra-big handle. The pitcher stands about 3 1/4" high and is approx. 4 1/2" across from handle to spout. There is some wear on the glazing and a couple of minor chips but otherwise is in very good condition. It is marked with what looks like"75" on the bottom; could be referring to 1875. 1975(although I think it's older than that) or something else entirely. S/H includes insurance. Vintage Stoneware Jug Lamp Thaddeus Davids Co Ink 1 Gallon Bottle
Antique jug that was converted to a lamp. The jug is a Thaddeus Davids and Company Manufacturing Stationers out of New York City. This was not a whiskey or beer producer but rather made ink. This jug would be used as a refill for ink wells. It has an interesting spout for pouring. The jug is glossy and in great condition. This was converted to a lamp I believe some time recently. The wire was run through the jug via a hole drilled in the side. It has a very large shade that has a different flower on each side. The side is quite nice. The flowers seem to be pasted on. I can ship without the shade to save on shipping cost if you have no need for it. Bottom to top of shade it is 26 1/2" tall. The shade is 14" wide. The jug is 11 1/2" x 6" It weighs about 8 lbs. Vintage stoneware advertising jug. Says Hazel Pure Food Co. Chicago-New York. I think this is made by Red Wing. But I'm not certain. There is no makers mark anywhere, and the research info. out there is very skimpy. Measures 10 1/2" high. 7 1/4" diameter. Single handle at the top. 1" diameter at the top. Weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. Holds 1 gal, or a bit more to the very top. Overall very good condition. No major cracks that I can find. There are a few minor chip. And some crazing, but it is watertight, nothing leaked out when I filled it.

Here's a vintage dug up 1 gallon moonshine jug. And as you cane the handle broke off probably when it was first thrown away. What leads me to that conclusion is the broken ends have both obtained rust deposits on them. That could only occur from an extended time underground. It is gray and kind of shiny. And I lightly cleaned it to see if anything was written on it. There isn't. Not on the bottom either. So just for the heck of it I'm listing it at a more than fair price of $3. For all the folks out there who might want a curiosity article. It can hold dried flowers. Or a door open. Just as a conversation piece.

1 gallon dug up vintage brown over tan moonshine jug
This is the type I usually find. Not always so solid not always handled this one is both. Classic brown over tan with two fingered handle. Without writing or embellishments of any kind. Just the good old shine crock/jug. Probably around eighty to one hundred years old. Sturdy and versatile. Dug one up 6 months ago has linseed oil maybe in it. Couldn't bring it home because the stench of the oil. Still sits out in the woods where my pit is. And still sometimes when I walk by it the fumes are overwhelming. If their are any diggers out there in the Baltimore area who would like a good place to dig I know one.This place is large. Another story another day

They ask for all kinds of specifics and I don't know them. Because there is no writing on it as far as I can see. My best guess would be it was made between Baltimore.Md. and the boundaries of Georgia somewhere. I can't see inside it so I don't know what color the clay is. That gives no basis for a geographic location of production. But I do know it is a strong vessel for liquids and the handle would have made it easy to drink from.

Vintage Stoneware Pottery Whiskey Jug Crock 1/2 Gallon~Brown
Vintage brown wiskey jug. Unknown maker.No visible makers mark. Jug measures 7 1/4" tall. 1/8 across the base. Unfortunitly the jug does have a crack(shown in pics)that runs from base up to around handle. It appears that someone had made a lamp out of it at one time.It has a hole drilled the bottom center and another drilled into the side near base. Even with crack and drill holes.Jug seems sturdy. This makes a great autumn vase for mums or sunflowers. I consider this to be in very good condition with the exception of 1 minor chip in the glaze on the top rim. Vintage stoneware bottle jug crock salt glazed miniature 3 1/2" USA MAKE OFFER
This Is a great little piece with some character. It does have a chip at the rim but no where else. There are several flaws in the glaze that were created at the time of glazing. Some little pin size spots and a 1" line across the bottom. There are a couple runny scratches as well. You have to really look for then. Vintage Brown & Tan Glazed Top Whiskey Jug Crock W/ Cork Top 9 1/2" Tall
There are no markings on this jug. There is a chip on the bottom and on the neck. Near the handle, see photos. The fourth photo shows a closeup of the top rim which may appear as a chip, however, after close examination, this defect was made in the making of this jug. Stands 9 1/2" tall. The diameter is 5 1/2" across the bottom. There is crazing under the glaze on the bottom portion and a number of poc marks, very crudely made.
