I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that it comes from France, and was originally contructed between 1850 and 1880. It features two doors in the centre and a bank of four drawers on either side. The pair of door open to reveal an internal drawer for cutlery and a central shelf. Which was not fitted in the photographs, and there is a useful slide that pulls out, just above the doors. The top and the drawers have elegant crossbanded decoration. And the interior has been made from mahogany that has been polished to a superb finish. We are offering a one of a kind hand built custom made piece from an estate in Scotland. The artisan was a cabinet maker by trade but this piece he made for his own home and it is something special. It was purchased from the home and so has only had one owner. It was made in Scotland between 1910 and 1920. It is solid walnut with hand carved trim and decorations on the headboard. Antique German Walnut Sideboard/ Bar/ Cabinet ~ Beautifully Carved 94" x 90" Up for Auction(Sale) is a Beautiful Antique Sideboard Selling an amazing antique sideboard. Just looking at it is an awe inspiring sight. Even with the original bun feet missing it measures 94" wide x 90" tall x 28" deep. It does show from wear for its age. Which we have been told is late 19th century to early 20th century. It comes apart into 3 large pieces, to make easier to move. It has a large cabinet base with four elaborately carved base relief paneled doors ornamented with elaborate classical& mythical figures. The base has concealed drawers whose fronts are carved with panels of dolphin like figures. Columns with foliate capitals are set across the front, surmounted by drawers with carved faces or masks flanked with wings or draperies. ... moreLarger columns support a deep cornice fronted with carved panels ornamented with reclining nude figures. A solid paneled backboard is set with a bracket shelf with a carved apron and supports. Handmade, probably Continental origin, possibly German or Belgian. Characteristics of walnut. There are cracks along the grain lines of the cabinet top. It has 2 skeleton keys to open all drawers and cabinets. All this information in the above description was given to us by a local antique dealer who can out and researched the piece. It has been in the family I am selling it for over 50 years and maybe longer, but the kids did not remember it from their youth. This piece is being sold as local pickup only. Refinished and color matched so you can see how gorgeous the beautiful walnut veneers are that have been chosen by the craftsman in the 1920s. On the front it has a diamond point inlaid banner across the top right underneath the bevel edge top, four carved column posts with spindles that adorn each post and goes down into an Acanthus carved front leg. It has four front legs and four back legs that are connected with cross stretchers to make it tight and sturdy. The sideboard is a stunning walnut amber color that brings out the grains and a gorgeous look to the entire piece. It has two picture frame molded panel doors that open to reveal plenty of storage. On the left hand door there is a pull out tray for silverware. The right hand side is wide open for anything you desire such as serving dishes or liqueur bottles. In the middle are two large deep dish molded drawers with a molded front and a fantastic burl walnut face. If you look at the pictures you can see the doors are also selected with beautiful walnut. 1920's Union Furniture Carved Walnut Sideboard w/Burl Grain Matchbook Veneer
An incredible piece of early 20th Century furniture. This ornate sideboard was made by the Union Furniture Company of Rockford. Illinois. The original paper label remains on the back. This sideboard will definately make a statement in a room. This is made from walnut and burl walnut veneers. The piece measures as follows: 80.5" length 22" depth 40" height This stunning piece of furniture has lots going on with it. The top has the original arched pediment backsplash with an applied carved design. The top surface of this has a beautiful grain to the wood that is in amazing condition for the age. The piece has a beautiful mixture of carvings and applied carvings as well. The ornate stretchers are topped with bulbous finnials. The drawer fronts. Center piece, backsplash and side panels are done with a matchbook burl veneer. There ... moreare no losses to any of these areas. The dove tail drawers retain there original pulls. The right drawer appears to have had a flatware tray that rested on thin boards originally. This piece is no longer with it. The drawers measure 18 5/8" from front to back/ 13" wide and 8 5/8" deep. This is a stunning piece of furniture that is in amazing condiiton for the age. There are some minor age and use related flaws in the finsh that include light scratches and tiny dings to the legs and top. These can only be seen when looking for them and looking real close. There is some light discoloration on one of the legs also. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. Please view photos carefully and feel free to ask questions. A very fine antique. Circa 1930's, 18th century Georgian style mahogany sideboard. There are four front carved claw and ball type feet, bandings of carved gadrooning, and impressed corner ellipses. Nice cast brass pulls, case designed without locks, top right drawer divided for flatware, lower doors with compartment each with a shelf. The door and drawer fronts are flame mahogany butterflied veneers, the sideboard with a walnut finish. It measures 3' 36-3/4" tall by 5'4" 64-1/2" wide by 21" deep. Excellent condition: without chips or cracks, minor scuffs to feet. Label inside that says: Anton Kanitsch. 60" wide x 27 1/2" deep x 105" tall in the center. 38" tall to the top surface of the base. The top is 48" tall and is 20" deep.
