The front has deeply scrolled cabriole legs, each fitted with a leaf-shaped shelf, with a shaped lower shelf. The skirt has a carved shell cartouche. The top is of white statuary marble with nice bevelled curves. The American Rococo Revival style furniture such as this étagère pier table were often found in homes of the Antebellum era. This is a handsome and monumental piece. With the emphasis on graceful line.The leaf-shaped lower shelves are characteristic of New York etageres, which would have been echoed in the multi-shelf arrangement above. French Louis XV Rococo Gilt Marble Top Console Table France. C. 1890-1920 Item# 130106JNW13 This is a simply stunning work from the late 19th to early 20th Century. A French Louis XV Style Console Table with brilliant Gilded surfaces. The top of this piece is glorious, a removable shapely rose marble top with an incredible thick solid piece of marble measuring 1 1/8" thick. It projects slightly over the edge of the conforming table frame, this with an overwhelming cyma-curve influence that allows void of the royal piece to outline the crown of a king. The central motif is a rocaille treatment surrounded by swirls of acanthus and foliage that drapes along the molded frame. Flanked by the pair of cabriole legs on either side that are locked in place with a decorative and functional stretcher embellished centermost with another deep shell ... moreformation. The frame is held together in the back with a single board that dovetails on either side. Another secondary board dovetailing across the center beneath the marble top to lock the frame in place. This is a gorgeous piece for an interior designer or anyone who appreciates the grandeur of fine Louis XV furnishings. Measurements: 58 1/2" wide x 28 1/8" deep x 39 3/4" high; marble top is 1 1/8" thick Condition Report: Some inpainting and restorations: chipping to front(repaired) Repaired crack in left leg, loss of gilt to top of right leg, bottom rocaille decoration has a repaired/replaced leaf and a chipped loss to another leaf, other scattered chips and dings. Oscar Wilde A Wonderful c.1850 Italian Rococo Revival Ebonised Figural& Marble Topped Console Table Period: Mid Nineteenth Century Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1850-60 Height: 35.75 inches(with marble) Width: 42 inches(with marble) Depth: 17.5 inches(with marble) All at maximum) The ebonised figural console architectural table having a serpentine demi-lune inset white carrera figured marble top mounted over a above a conforming reticulated frieze well carved with flower heads and interlinking ribbons. With central carved scallop shell over the main figurehead type cabriole leg support carved as a putto terminating in a scrolled end with resting finial survives from mid-nineteenth century Italy. Condition ... morewise there is a rear flank six-inch section of the frieze that is a later replacement and the frieze as a whole has some mouldings that are later and some losses. To the cherub there is general cracking and chipping all over. And the marble top is a later replacement, which, has a slightly larger over-hang than one would expect and some drilled small holes that could be filled. Other than the aforementioned, the table is in good original and un-meddled with condition with the finish untouched and the whole proving wonderfully decorative. She has fixing brackets present for wall mounting. Rococo is an 18th-century artistic movement and style. Which affected several aspects of the arts including painting, sculpture, architecture, interior design, decoration, literature, music and theatre. It fell out of favour towards the end of the 18th century, and then was revived. Rococo Revival was a 19th-century furniture style, based on Rococo, and characterized by curved silhouettes and ornate carving. Its best-known maker in the United States was John Henry Belter. Having a shaped serpentine Sienna marble top with finger molded edge above a comforming floral-carved apron. Raised on heavy leaf-carved S-scroll legs joined to a central urn and acorn finial by S-scroll stretchers. 29"h.x44"w.x28"d. Appraised at $3250.00 by an appraisal company in New Orleans. Antique Rococo Revival etagere Pier Table 1800's Thomas Brooks style
A fine base of a Rococo-Revival etagere. Or whatnot, the base now used as a pier table. Appraised in 2006 by certified Appraiser as: A fine base of a Rococo-Revival etagere. Or whatnot, the base now used as a pier table, the original shelved and mirrored superstructure were removed in years past, The piece is of mahogany( possibly black walnut) with a square panel in the back. The front has deeply scrolled cabriole legs, each fitted with a leaf-shaped shelf, with a shaped lower shelf. The skirt has a carved shell cartouche. The top is of white statuary marble with nice bevelled curves. The American Rococo Revival style furniture such as this étagère pier table were often found in homes of the Antebellum era. This is a handsome and monumental piece. With the emphasis on graceful line.The leaf-shaped lower shelves are characteristic ... moreof New York etageres, which would have been echoed in the multi-shelf arrangement above. Circa 1880 SIZE:The top Measurements are: 47 3/4" wide at back 19" deep The table is 35" tall The marble top is of a lovely bevel and curved shape of fine lightly veined white Carrera style marble that really accents this piece. This table is a classic example of American Rococo Revival style with a prominent boldness and nicely carved scalloped apron. The table's legs are formed of c-scrolls.The piece is decorated with flowers and acanthus leaves.And delicate carvings. Pieces such as this period of American furniture are especially appropriate for large Victorian or Colonial renovations. A very nice antique. Circa 1860, Rococo Revival carved walnut serpentine table with turtle top gray veined white beveled edge marble. The legs are as scrolls with a solid walnut serpentine stretcher. Table measures 29" tall by 3' 36" wide by 26" deep, excellent condition: wood without chips or cracks, nicely refinished, marble without chips or cracks, no stains, minute overall scratches.

Probably Southern, c.1850-60 This stand has a magnificent reverse painting that retains its brilliant color. And the lyre, with flowers at its base is a real standout. The walnut table is solid, and the turnings, both top and bottom are truly magnificent, and indicate a high quality shop, which, in that era, could have appeared in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, or Baltimore. Interesting to note is the scrolled acanthus foot which is loosely developed, and a holdover to early classical pieces. The manner in which it is put together, clearly shows it is Rococo Revival. ... moreMany fine pieces were made in large cities during this period. Which is also the beginning of mass produced furniture. Here, the expensive addition of carved and usage of all solid walnut is for a more discerning market.
