Antique pair of Oak Throne Church(/) Chairs(2)
Up for sale is Antique pair of Church( Throne Chairs from 1800's. The previous owner told me they got them from old church in Riverside. California. Some people say they are Arts and Crafts style. I can see and tell some part of chair is surely oak quarter-saw. But I am not sure all parts are oak or not. They were used wooden nails not steel nails. Both chairs are sturdy. Well-made and very comfortable. They are really good condition except one chair back board venner lifted. You can easily fix it by puttingg some glue in the space. The dimension of chair is 26-1/2" width. 25" deep, 16" seat high and 39" back high. I prefer the buyer pick up locally or the buyer arrange shipment and pay the shipping fee. Offered for sale is this complete 2 volume book set titled. THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JESUS THE MESSIAH by Alfred Edersheim and published by Anson D. F. Randolph And Company out of New York in good overall condition. The title page indicates that this is the Second Edition, Stereotyped and although there is no date on the title page, the Preface to the second edition is dated 1884. The preface to the first edition is dated 1883 making this an early example of this publication. They were formerly owned by a Free Methodist Pastor as his ink stamp is in both books on the first blank pages. Volume 1 has a partial tear on its first blank as the pictures show. There is very light foxing and yellowing and the chocolate brown hard covers have light wear on the edges and the spines tops and bottoms. There are light scratches and scuffs as to be expected ... morewith books this old. The pages are still tight and very readable and pliable. The books measure about 9 1/2" by 6 1/2" and volume 1 has 698 pages and volume 2 has 826 pages. These would make a fine addition to any collection. Antique 2 Piece Large Heavy Brass Cross Needs Pole
Estate sale find. This Cross was meant to be mounted on a pole leading the procession up to the pulpit then set into the base. I think. It's 26 3/4" from top to pole hole and 12 3/4" across. Takes a 1" pole. The base is 10 1/4" across and 7 1/4" tall. The pole hole is 1 3/8" It has a split in the brass collar as shown in picture three.

I found these two antique or vintage candles in an old trunk of my in-laws. Along with many antique Christmas decorations. I know nothing about them, other than the trunk hasn't been touched for at least 40-60 years. These two tall praying Monks/Friars, wearing their hooded habits, robes or Scapulars are quite impressive. They're heavy, weighing nearly 1 pound, 8 ounces together. One is slightly larger than the other, mainly because he is standing on a thicker base. The shorter one is 11" and the taller one is 11 3/8" They are a lovely golden brown. They fit the very common 1 1/4" candle size(they are"size 2" in the traditional old classification system and the text"1 1/4" is actually stamped on the side of each of them, so you can be absolutely certain this is the size they fit- see the last picture) The bottom opening of the followers measures about 1 3/8" and they stand about 2 1/4" high. One of the interesting thing about these old, antique bove followers is that they are heavy around the bottom because there is a bead of lead to hold them down and make them"follow" well. The second one also refers to Dr. Martin Luther and says for the German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and other States. This says copyright 1892 and has a published date on title page of 1909, and says on cover Adolf Mueller 1913. The books are about 5 inches by 3 1/2 inches. This is for an A.Gross Candle Co. Authentic Catholic Sanctuary Lamp complete with stand and ruby red French glass bowl made with leaded crystal glass The dimensions are: For the glass: 14 1/2 inches round at the top 10 1/2 inches round at the bottom 9 1/2 inches tall 11 1/2 inches tall with the base attached 8 1/2 inches round interior bottom The base stands about 5 3/4" tall to the tips of the three prongs. And with the glass globe inserted, it stands 11.5" tall. The base measures at 5 1/2" wide from tip to tip at the widest point and the glass globe is just under 4 3/4" at the widest point at the top. The stand features ornate doghead feet that take rise to filigreed legs. Your eyes will focus then on the bands that wrap about the glass which are also adorned in fine metal work. This is without question a beautiful piece ... moreof artwork perfectly assembled for worship in the house of the Lord or any home. This was manufactured in Baltimore Maryland in the United States in the 1940s. But does not show much age. These pieces came together in an estate lot. two matching crowns of different sizes. One is large; adult size. And the other small. The small one is marked"made in France" they have matching designs. My best guess is that they were made for statues of the Holy Mother and Child. That is St. Mary and Infant. They could or would be used on any Santos or Saints in churches or religious settings. they are adjustable which is why you might notice a space on the small one. the large one is adjustable too. This listing is for 2 unique and rare scrap books with tied string bindings. The earliest date I found is 1917 and the latest date is 1949. These books look to be compiled through many years of someone’s work on mainly the end times and Revelations. There are many clipping of articles from booklets and periodicals from the SDA. These books may have been complied from a SDA teacher. The oldest book looks to have all the same cardboard texture paper with the clippings pasted on the pages. The thicker book has many different kinds of paper with pasted clippings and some pages have typing with clippings and there are many hand written notes throughout the thicker book. There are also a few posters of“Big Tent” meetings in Lodi. California in 1937. One meeting is features the Governor of California Gov Merriam to speak.
