Please contact us for a quote if you are interested in the refinishing service. It comes with a pull-out fancy scallop drawer, which is unusual for a bench like this. It has wraparound arms with rope twist spindles and an oval medallion in the center. It is 42 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 18 inches high to the seat, 30 inches high to the arms and 36 inches high to the oval medallion back. The drawer is 37 inches wide and 3 inches high. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MARBLE TOP COMMODE/NIGHT STAND
Beautiful marble top burl walnut night stand. I believe this piece to be an original potty chamber. In the days before indoor bathrooms. If one needed to go in the night, an empty container was stored within the bottom cabinet. Up top was a basin with a pitcher of water. In the drawer were stored washcloths or hand towels. Measures 30 x 17 x 15 This piece has the original marble top and is shows normal wear for it's age. This piece is available for local pick up or the moving company of your choice. There was a worn piece of wrapping paper around this little mirror. And just one piece of it was saved. The last photo shows that paper! It has"1 Augest Thonsen 1878" That's what it looks like to me, but maybe I'm not seeing it correctly! The overall size of this old mirror is 8" x 14 1/2" tall. The actual mirror size is 5 1/2" x 9 3/4" tall. An expert said it is diamond dust, but I can't guarantee that. The best way to tell if it really is diamond dust is when it's damaged. This one is in encased in wood with screws and has been in a dry climate(Denver) for over 136 years, so there's no damage! The"burled" walnut is a veneer, and that's easy to see when you look at the back of it! The two-on-three style drawers provide a great deal of storage. All of the drawers come equipped with all-brass hardware and lock escutcheons. However there is no key. Beautiful Victorian Dresser- all wood. This was purchased at Hawkin's Antiques many years ago while they were still in Fort Lauderdale. Anyone familiar with this man's store is aware he carried very fine quality antiques. He still does- but now he is located in West Palm Beach. Piece must go as we have too many pieces now. Mirror has minor loss to silvering- there is a repair to one of the wood drawers that is not visible from exterior. Has keyholes for skeleton key but we do not have a key to lock it. Nice relief details on the dresser and the mirror. Dresser can be with or without mirror on it as it unscrews. This piece is on wheels and is very light and easy to move when drawers and mirror are removed which is a nice feature. This auction is for an Antique Walnut Inlaid Victorian Circa 1860.wardrobe/bookcase. The interior was customized by Gary Forte. The back was removed so a large screen television could be put in.I have all the pieces from the back. The item is in excellent condition. The left two doors open together as one.
