The entire piece has been stripped. Sanded, stained, re-stained, multiple coats of sanding sealer hand rubber in between with multiple coats of lacquer. It is all set to go in the boudoir. It is a gorgeous vanity with a 1 inch beveled glass original shapely mirror that is held in place with the brass threaded rods and in between two carved support yolks. The base itself has an ogee bevel edge shapely top, three dove tail drawers with a beautiful graining on the front, shapely shirt and cabriole legs. The overall size is 36 inches wide, 19 inches deep on the base, 32 inches to the top of the base cabinet and 64 inches high to the top of the bevel glass mirror. The bevel glass mirror does adjust back and forth on a swivel. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that there are some old stains on the inside of the drawers that were left on purpose, which give it charm and character. Has 4 dovetail drawers and metal caster wheels. Key to the locks is unavailable. The lower drawer bottom has been replaced. All drawers are opening and closing properly. Item is structurally sound for it's age. Caster wheels are all rolling. Top back right corner has a slight warp on the tabletop with separation and a small crack. Shouldn't be a problem for most. Majestic antique Victorian Eastlake mahogany dresser(late 1800s) has a rose-colored marble top, four(4) drawers with original brass pulls and key locks(no key available) and a carved pedestal mirror. The dresser is in excellent antique condition, with great structural integrity, beautiful wood with few signs of wear or aging, smoothly operating drawers, great adjustable pedestal mirror, rose marble top that is largely very good, bearing a few surface scratches(these are not deep and can be buffed out- please see photo of marble and specific scratches) and original one-inch-high casters that can be removed, if so desired. Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. The receipt I have states it is a"tiger maple dressing table with Cheval Mirror, circa 1895. I have purchased many items from these folks through the years for my personal enjoyment. I am not an expert in antiques. I do know what I like and this is a gorgeous wood very unusual to me, unlike the other pieces I have collected. I sell it now only due to a move. It is carved. Antique Victorian washstand finished in cottage style
This is a very old. Petite washstand that we have revived for your country, cottage, shabby chic, or seaside vacation home. This piece will freshen up any small space in your home. Your daughter or grand daughter would fall in love with this and want to claim it as her own. The finish not only appears soft, but is soft and velvety to the touch as well. The flower embellishments are hand painted, not stencils. There is a single drawer, a lower cabinet with 2 doors, and a backsplash with 2 small shelves. At some point in it's long life the key was lost but the lock mechanism remains on the right hand door. The left hand door is held shut with an old hook& eye fastener located on the inside of the cabinet.
