Especially made from solid mahogany throughout(even the drawer interior and back) and from the Mission/Craftsman style and era. Antique Flint & Honrer Mahogany Secretary
Up for your consideration is a Wonderful Secretarial desk. With the Flint& Horner label on the back of this fine furniture. We place the date of this beautiful desk between, 1915 and the 1930's. giving this piece some serious history considering its origin is New York and its now on the West coast. This Excellent Secretarial Desk has 3 Skeleton key holes and 1 original Barrel skeleton key that comes with it. It has very few scratches. One on the left edge of the desk table, a very small ding on the 4th drawer to the right side center and a small scrape on the base just below the 4th drawers right handle. The desk support arm mechanism operates smoothly. Eagle claw and ball feet are in excellent condition. The back of the desk it has the Flint& Horner label and at the bottom is marked with a manufacture serial# 171-4 10097 For ... morethe quality and relative few dings and scratches this Antique has it traveled very well across the country for almost 80+ years. A little history. Robert J Horner established a furniture shop around the 1880's and some time later started producing fine furniture made of the finest quality mahogany and quartersawn oak hardwood. Much of his furniture was very elaborate with fine carvings in the form of chairs. Sofas, complete parlor sets, hall trees, benches, partner tables, and dining sets. His inspirations drew upon an a wide variety of patterns and themes, which to name a few were.caryatids, winged gargoyles, northwind faces, cherubs, man-of-the-mountain, and winged griffins. Later in Life. In 1915. R.J. Horner merged his business with another inspired furniture producer, George Flint to form Horner and Flint though neither were officers of the company. Horner retired at the time of the merger but his son, Robert Horner Jr. managed the business for at least another year. Two drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and original working locks and escutcheons. The inlaid banding top has been revarnished for durability. The base has its original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm antique patina. This antique oak half curio cabinet half secretary is in great condition! It is approximately 100 years old. There is no documentation we just know that is has been in the family for 3 generations. With no documentation all the information I have is based on family stories. It is the original finish and the only marring is on one foot(shown in picture) The back appears to have one patch and the mirror is re-enforced(I do not know if that was done originally or later) Also there is some type of packing material visible on the back where the secretary and the curio meet. The curio cabinet is a curved door with adjustable shelves. This is the original glass! The secretary portion has the original mirror and carvings around the mirror. It has a drop down desk and slots for letters and pens behind the drop down portion. There are three drawers ... moreunderneath the desk. The bottom one curves slightly out and the top two are flat surfaced. There is an ink stain in the top drawer(shown in picture) It measures 70" tall. 36" long, and 12" wide. Bases have their original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm antique patina. Classical fluted motifs are understated on this furniture from Europe. The desk has a banded top and two drawers with hand cut dovetail joints and original working locks and escutcheons. Measurements are 59" long. 30" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 24 1/2" underneath. Three doors on the large bookcase have glass panes and original working locks and hardware. A large Larkin(or Larkin-style) secretary/ desk in good condition. Large size: about 82" tall to the filial. 36" wide, and 18" wide below, 8" wide above. Three problems: a wooden pull is missing from the glass panel on the right(as you face the desk) the hinges for the desktop need some work, and the top filial(about 1.5" broke off(but is in a desk drawer) As you can see from the last picture, there is some wear from use- the drawers wear down the wood below on the edges. No wood is missing; it just needs to be refinished. There are slight marks to the lower right of the Inlaid star on the top. The star(top) is composed of 16 individual inlaid pieces in the veneer. The wood is unknow to us, if we(I) had to guess I would say walnut, with maple or ash pinstripping forming the boarders on the top and side edges. The bottom is cover in green felt(no picture) somewhat worn, but not ripped, just some rolled edges(comprised of three pieces of felt) one having the number 033 marked on it. This item came with an auctioneer tag from Gaston& Sheehan Auctioneers Inc. in Pflugerville, Tx. with alot number of 680 on the tag. We called them, but without more information, relative to the piece it was impossible to search just the lot number 680. 19 Hundreds Paris Mfg Co. Child's Roll Top Desk with Original Swivel Chair
This solid oak Child's Roll Top Desk is a well made"time capsule" from the past in amazing vintage condition. Ready to serve new generations. It was made by the Paris Manufacturing Company of South Paris, Maine, probably around 1910 or later. It has a flexible roll top, flat writing surface, storage compartments with a little drawer, plus two larger drawers on the right. Other than some marker marks and pencil and crayon on the oak writing surface and the same on the inside bottom of the drawers. This has remained solid and beautifully crafted ready to hand down to a new fortunate child. At one time, this had a key for the drawers and the roll top. 1940's Shabby Chic Desk
I have a 1940's desk for sale. This desk is priced to sell quickly! The dimensions are 30" tall. 22" deep, and 44" wide. The drawers are dovetailed and slide very easily. The hardware is all original and in mint condition. This desk was purchased new by my parents. It has two beautiful coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint(Provence) was distressed, and finally waxed with both dark and light wax. You will not be disappointed in this fine piece of furniture. I am not sure of the wood, but the desk is very heavy. They do not make solid desks like this one any more! Mark

Beautiful brown antique leather DESK with GOLD trim
This beautiful brown leather desk was hand made in 1948 by my own grandmother. She was one of the very first craftsmen(or should I say craftswoman? in her town. It is one of a kind. 1937 RODEN BROS Birks STERLING SILVER Vanity Dresser Mirror Brush 6 pc ART DECO
Offering for sale a Rare Antique RODEN BROS/ Birks STERLING SILVER Vanity Dresser Mirror Brush 5 pc Set This nicely detailed set dates to the engraved date of 1937 when the monogranned T&W( a family member) were married. Beautifully Engraved in a Floral Pattern with a Sterling Silver hallmark on each piece: Sterling 925 R(lion) They were carefully made in Toronto. Ontario Canada by Roden Bros Ltd. Then Birks later acquired this firm in the 1950's. The hand mirror measures approx. 12-1/2" long; the hair brush is 10" long; the other brush is 7" long; the comb is 8" long, the nail file is 5" long and clippers are 4.5" long. These are used. But in great condition. There is some light typical wear, as to be expected with a 75 year old dresser set. It is noted that most pieces have usual minor scratches& ... morea few very small dings(nothing serious) It is also noted the mirror does have some delamination/spotting(very common wear with mirrors of this age) This lovely set would make a nice addition to your valuable collection. Roden Bothers Established in Toronto in 1891 Roden Brothers produced a wide range of silver hollowware and flatware in traditional English styles. They offered several different flatware patterns including Stratford. Queens, and Louis XV. Antique Signed Old Hickory Desk
This is a nice antique Old Hickory desk that I've had since 1998. Its in good condition for its age but check out the photos for yourself. I can't find a reference to it in the Kylloe book. A History of the Old Hickory Chair Company and the Indiana Hickory Furniture Movement but you can see the prominent stamp. Old Hickory Martinsville Indiana on the back of the desk. Dimensions: 30 inches high(34 including the decorative top) 54 inches wide and 20 deep. The top is made of separate pieces of woods and there is some minor separation. No attempts have been made to repair since its not impacting its function or appearance. We have many antique Old Hickory and rustic items up for auction. Vintage Lift Top Writing Desk - Pull-Out Writing Surface
This flip top writing desk is 35" wide. 19" deep and 32" tall. The top flips up and the front flap on the flip top can either stand up or lay down. The writing desk has a sheet of glass covering the writing area- but the writing surface pulls out to make the writing area larger. When the writing area is pushed in(glass covered area) the surface is 24" wide by 9 1/2" deep; however the writing surface can pull out an additional 6 inches to expand the writing area to 24" wide by 15 1/2" deep. There is a thick panel of glass that protects the writing surface when it is 9 1/2" deep and it can be removed when the desk surface is expanded to 15" When the flip top is closed it looks like a table.
