Hand cut dovetail plus mortise and tenon joints and scalloped edges are the work of a skilled country carpenter. Rose cut nails from the 1700's and later square nails from the 1800's are picturesque on this rustic furniture. The old finish is well preserved with lots of antique character. This 1700s hired man's bed was placed at the foot of the master's bed in New England. It is made of maple with mortise-and-tenon joints. Later owners added rectangular nails(and. Later, screws) to support some, but not all, of the joints(see photos) The bed measures 76 inches long, 22 1/2 inches wide, and 23 1/4 inches high. Ornately carved TUDOR Oak Headboard or Panel possibly William & Mary
Please forgive the quality of the photos! Can be used as a Headboard or an enormous Wall Art. This is an incredibly rare piece of English Furniture for sale. In my world travels and studies. I have never seen anything like it. I studied at Christie's Auction House in London, searched the internet, and I still haven't found anything to compare it to. My Grandmother& Chubb Insurance had it insured for $150k. I am selling my absolute favorite piece of furniture to help pay my medical bills. This ornately carved English oak wood panel was once the door to a Cardinal's bedroom. It has been in my family for many years and has usually been used as a headboard. c.1750's antique Colonial brass BED WARMER w/ WALNUT HANDLE
During the Colonial era when a fireplace was your only warmth during the frigid winters. Just before you retired you would fill your bed warmer with embers from the fireplace and place it under your coverlet to warm up your bed for the night. This mid 18th century bedwarmer is all hand made with a hammered brass pan with copper rivet construction with a hand chased and engraved design of stars and flaurel sprays on top. The handle has exquisite turnings and is made of walnut that has attained a nice smooth chocolate brown patina. Condition: some small dings on pan but no large distracting dents; the walnut handle has scattered worm holes in areas; engraved design on top is very worn from years of polishing; some wear to back of handle where it rubbed against a log wall while hanging(not seen when hanging) These would originally have had a ... moreleather or rope string tied around the handle for hanging(a leather shoe string works easy enough) To see a similar example with near identical handle dated c.1750. See pg. 380 in DOMESTIC METALWORK 1640-1820 by Gentle. This beautiful example surfaced recently in Pennsylvania and is about as nice as they get and like anything this early. this 18th century old early original primitive horse ranch corral wooden gate is an exceptional piece of very early horse farm history. it has the best true early aged surface. the hinge post is slightly longer so it tilts a bit when standing. total measurements are 69 1/4'h x 49 1/4'w x 2 7/8' in thickness and weighs about 90 pounds. one of its highlights is the built in sliding gate latch which i think is just great and love about it. it is in all original as found untouched condition. some insignificant minor wood losses and anomolies consistant with a piece of this age but it is in nice stable and solid condition. the upper curved board does have an very early split which has an old wire repair which does not affect the integrety at all and i think just adds to its authentic character. this would look awesome as wall hanging ... morefolk art or a standing piece anywhere that can accomodate room for it. this would especially make for the most unique stunning bed headboard. its being offered for a pick up however i can assist with frieght shipping arrangements.

For sale here is a nice 3 piece Victorian bedroom set. This one is not marble topped set but rather onyx or alabaster. It has been refinished. Normal wear for a set of this age. It is located in Hagerstown MD 21742. It must be picked up by you or your arranged shipper. I will not pack or ship this. The bed stands about 8 ft tall. It is 64 1/2 inches across. The footboard is 33 inches tall. The dresser is 92 1/2 inches tall x 48 1/2 inches across x 20 1/2 inches deep. The washstand is 34 inches across x 19 3/4 inches deep x 28 1/4 inches tall- 37 1/2 inches to the top of the backsplash.

For your consideration is an extremely rare bed or folk art piece. I'm no expert. But I have had several dealers look at. In addition to the age, estimated at 1740-1750) there are several interesting features that make it unusual. Beginning with the size. It is almost the size of a normal baby bed. It sits 7" off the ground. The total width is 25" The length is 55" The board that serves as the bed is one hand-hewned piece that I estimate to be 22 1/2" wide. The joinery is mortis and tenon throughout. At the head. The carved pieces are moveable, and are able to slide a quarter inch or so horizontally. It appears that two of the top triangles have come off in the past and have been put back on with small nails. These aren't noticeable and you really have to look for them to see them.I counted five or six. Each corner ... morepost is distinctive with it's own character and flavor. Please refer to pics for more detail. It looks as if one inside rail was started to be carved with flowers and just stops about 25% down from the head. I am no expert. And in my best opinion and research, this is not a reproduction. I have not cleaned at all. And have left in it's original condition. It is overall a sturdy, one-of-a-kind piece that is stunning. Feel free to ask for more photos or come by and see in person. Any more information would also be appreciated. 12-19: I noticed two more things about this piece. The main board has a crack starting an inch or so from the headboard corner. This crack continues down at an angle towards the closest side. It stretches about halfway down the board where it buys up to the side rail. I can't tell if it is two pieces or not. I also noticed a couple of nails around the piece. It appears someone added one nail to each leg/post in the past. Most likely they did this to firm this up. 1-18-2014 Update: Okay. I have just received more information on this piece. Eighteenth Century French bedroom set
The bedroom set was purchased after restoration by my family over 20 years ago. Since then it has been well cared for. There are a few minor blemishes however the set is in fantastic condition. The bed was converted from a full to a queen before being purchased. The armoire is huge. It has bars to hang in the middle and the left side and shelves on the right. Not all hinges match, they never did. One hinge broke and we have chosen not to bother with replacing it so the left armoire door needs one new hinge. The set will fit in both a traditional and eclectic to even contemporary setting due to the coloring and wood pattern by merely changing the bedding.

Found in New England. This wonderful antique low-post doll rope bed/bedstead is 18th century, circa 1740-1760. It is all original, including its wonderful dry, untouched red painted surface. The thin roping or jute, used to crisscross the center of the frame as the support, is also original. The bed is beautifully constructed. It has hand chamfering and notches on the posts. And the headboard is simple with nice detail. The frame has mortise and tenon joints. The bedstead measures 16 1/2" long x 11 1/2" wide x 9" high. It is in very good condition. With no repairs of any kind. It has the best patina, showing good honest age-appropriate wear. It is wobbly, as most rope beds are that need tightening, which I am mentioning just for accuracy. This is an antique children's bed. Best I can figure out is that it is from the late 1600s to early 1700s and it is from central or south india. This is the only information I was able to find on a bed this old!

Pair of European Walnut Beds Catholic Historical Beds St Bernard Carvings RARE
Up for your consideration is this wonderful set of walnut beds heavily carved dating to the late 1790 to 1820's. The beds are a direct mirror image of each other even to the tiniest of details. Both beds have been examined by local antique dealers and also a Catholic scholar here locally. The Saint depicted on the headboards is St Bernard of Clairvioux and on the foot boards are Mother Mary and Christ Child. These carvings are in deep relief. It has been determined that the flags depicted on the footboards are a representation of the Crusaders with whom St Bernard was a supporter. The country of Origin is France. As to whom they were made for is still a mystery however we feel they are one of a kind. I will list measurements later this week. All Reasonable Offers will be Considered.

Pair of 2--Twin/Single 100 yr old Brass Beds Out of an Inn
Today I am offering something very special-A pair of Brass Twin Beds. They are from the Clear Lake Hotel in Clear Lake California. That Hotel burned down in 1805. So this pair of beds are from the late 1700's. They were then in 1 family home for over 100 years. The time has come and the family is willing to part with them. They are wonderful! They are the basic style of brass beds. Rather plain with curved corners with cute little poles in between. They sit very close to the ground and the place where the mattress sits is higher. The headboard is aprox. 28 1/2 inches tall and 39 inches wide. The mattress holder is 11 inches from the ground. The foot-board is aprox. 20 inches high and 39 inches wide. The beds are in very good antique condition. They do have a few small dents here and there- nothing big. They really need a good polish-then ... morethey will POP! Right now they have areas where they are green and a few where you can see the brass color. The beds have rounded corners with 5 smaller"poles" in the center. Each one has a little flare added at each end. Each bed is the classic style brass bed that I would have given my teeth for when I was a teenager. I had to settle for a reproduction. They were just to hard to find then- plus they were $$$$$. To find a matching set now is almost unheard of. Please look at all of the pictures. They are a very important part of the description.
