We are pleased to offer this very nice. Antique to older vintage, fireplace fireback with stand. This wonderful, Art Deco designed piece features heavy cast iron construction. There are two large ancient Greek or Roman warriors, both on horses/steeds, and in apparent battle. The scene is completed with wisps of textural clouds above. All of the intricate designs are done in a very dimensional, repousse, fashion. The top is also finished to look like clouds so the screen is quite unique with the top not being uniform on each side. The finish is black with silver highlights throughout. It is very heavy and is approximately 1/2" thick. The stand features two separate pieces and is not fixed to the screen. We are pleased to offer this antique fireplace surround. This is a very nice piece and in very good condition. This set includes the fireplace surround. Summer cover and atta. ched grate. The fireplace has a very textured surface which is gilded and a coppery gold in color. The insert grate has columnal design which is reminiscent of the Greek Parthenon or Roman Pantheon. The removable summer cover door has a knob on each side. This unit is in very good condition with minimal evidence of age. This is one of the most impressive mantle's I've had. At first I thought it was primitive but it's definitely Victorian and called Stick& Ball. It was for a drafting firm. Dentist office or school house as the little drawers have pencil/utility trays. Which I've photographed for you. It's actually 2 pieces. The bottom is a standard mantle front which we added a little interior lip to b/c our fireplace was a bit smaller. So you can fashion this around various sized fireplaces. The top section is a topper that sits on top and will need to be bolted/ affixed to the wall and rests on the mantle-top. The items are cleaned and kiln dried before finishing. Each piece has three coats of satin finish polyurethane. NOTE: We do take special orders for mantels. However. It could take up to 4-6 weeks. We have a full time roofing company which requires our time also. Please keep in mind all of the items we make are from reclaimed wood. Each piece is well over 100 years old. Nothing is new! We try to remove all the splinters and loose wood before sanding. Sometimes we cut through nails and leave them. There are cracks, knots, worm holes, highs and lows in the wood. These pieces are for the most part the way we found them when we took the barn down. They are a piece of history preserved. OLD ANTIQUE MATCH HOLDER METAL FIREPLACE STOVE NEW HAVEN
This is an antique cast iron match holder or match safe. On the front cover it reads: SELF CLOSING. FOR MATCHES& C. PATENTED. DEC.20.1864. D.M& CO. NEW HAVEN. This item has two mounting holes on the back that allow it to be mounted to a wall. On the bottom side it is a rough surface, which my guess is used to strike matches. This piece is in good condition with a naturally aging patina and shows wear in some spots. I am not sure if it has been repainted or not. A small stud on the top of lid prevents the lid from being opened up high enough so that it can rest in the upright position. This piece measures about 3.75" wide by 2.5" on top, 2" tall to top of wall mount bracket. The bottom strike square measures 2.75" x 2" It does not come with screws.

There is a nice beveled mirror between two small shelves. The lower shelf is held with small corbels. It measures 64.5 wide and is 77.25 tall and is 11.75 inches deep. The firebox opening is 35.5 wide. By 36 tall. If you remove the filler boards, the openingwill be 41.5 by 38.5 tall. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings adding to the antique charm of this piece. A couple minor repairs are needed. The small columns need reset and the backboard needs to be reattached. Easy fix. Victorian Stick & Ball Mahogany Fireplace Mantel w/Shelves & Mirrors 82"H x 60"W
We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique fireplace mantle. This piece has great character and dates to the Victorian era. This piece measures 82" High x 60 3/16" at the widest point and it has a depth of 10.5" The mantle back has the main center mirror flanked by two smaller mirrors with shelves on the sides. The front of the mirror has turned& reeded columns holding a shelf above it. There are attached cornice pieces above the two smaller mirrored sections that are topped with a stick& ball design. This same design is also found on the crest at the top center of the mantle. There are hand carved medallions and curliques on this piece as well. This is a gorgeous mantle that will definately make a statement in a room. There are age and use appropriate scratches. Dings, divets, cracks, repairs, and ... moreother marks on this piece. There are issues with the finish as well from being stored. Structurally the piece is solid and sound with no rot or losseness. It does appear that someone at some point had done some gluing on this. Aesthetic Cast Metal Brass Andirons Pierced Finials Sheffield, NY Marked #238
Wonderful cast metal andirons. With pierced brass rosette tops. The scrolling brass tops feature an urn with flowers and thistle detail. They are raised, and sit on a slender gooseneck stem which emerges from a wonderfully textured, hand wrought leg. The base has an light arch and pad foot. Each is marked on the reverse with the number 238. They are attributed to a Sheffield. NY maker, C. 1900. The andirons stand 22" in height, and have a length of 18" The pierced ornament at the top has a diameter of 6" We have recently acquired the pair form a local New England estate, and they are in good condition. We have not cleaned them, so as to preserve the lovely patina that has started to develop on the top. The rear supports are clearly charred, as can be expected. They are in perfectly usable shape, and are both decorative and ... morefunctional. We welcome visitors to our shop to preview these pieces in person. Please examine the photos carefully for details.
