The ... moreset is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture have glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. Really beautiful chest of drawers and dresser with attached mirror. The pieces were designed and crafted by Johnson Carper Furniture Company of Roanaoke for their"Fashion Trend" mid century modern Danish inspired line. The set includes a 5 drawer Chest of Drawers and a 6 drawer Dresser with its original mirror and hardware. It is some times difficult to find a set with the original mirror intact. But this sets includes the mirror and it is in good condition. The drawers have very cool sculpted wooden side pulls that are beautifully crafted. They stand out from the dresser and chest of drawers like wood carvings. Very functional art. Each drawer is solid wood and of dovetailed construction. The top is laminate. It is a wonderful retro ensemble. The Dresser works well as a buffet and the mirror is easily detached. The furniture is ... moresolid. Sturdy and not overly large. Danish modern style cedar chest by Lane in excellent condition. This mid century modern style blanket chest is completely cedar lined. Stands on sturdy walnut peg legs with brass caps, has a bottom pullout drawer and is totally original, excellent with just a couple small nicks. Outside measurements are 18 by 40 and stands 20 high. For sale is a pair of oversized ebonized chest of drawers manufactured by Kittinger. These chests resemble some of Gibbings designs for Widdicomb with the circular brass pulls but these chests are of much higher quality construction. Incredible wood graining and a deeper, richer finish than the Widdicomb pieces. They are in fantastic original condition with a few veneer chips to the backs(see photos)and a few scratches. The chips have been stained to blend in and do not detract at all from the beauty of these pieces. Absolutely stunning. Structurally solid without any looseness.
