50 x Neolithic Arrowheads - 4000BC (E323)
50 x Neolithic Arrowheads Material: Flint Colour: Various Type: Various Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara 5p(18mm) to give indication of size and not included in the auction. A pretty common lot. What you see is what you get, please take a good look at all the pictures. I have personally handled over 10.000 of these'flints' during my collecting over the last 10 years. The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. This is not a reflection on the density of usage of these items but more a reflection of the areas current climate- being very arid it makes it easier to find these items. The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert. Over 9,000,000 km²(3,500,000 mi²) almost as large as the United States. The Sahara is located in northern Africa and is 2.5 million years old. Its name, Sahara, is an English ... morepronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. The Sahara divides the continent of Africa into North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The southern border of the Sahara is marked by a band of semiarid savanna called the Sahel; south of the Sahel lies the lusher Sudan and the Congo River Basin. During the Late Neolithic period(approx 4000BC– 2000BC) the Sahara had a much wetter climate(sometimes known as the Aqualithic) and was akin to modern day North America. Arrowheads are typically collected and traded by the local nomadic peoples of the Sahara. They find them as the sand dunes move and they travel around seasonally grazing their herds. Finding and

Hominid Homo Rudolfensis skull, 1,9 million years old - cast replica
This is professionally cast replica of famous Homo Rudolfensis skull. Kenya, estimated age 1,9 million years, made of resin including all details and colored. Molds of all our replicas were copied directly from the original or from the first cast copy! No"art reconstructions" Black parts were not found. Weight is 1.8 kg. Description from Wikipedia: Homo rudolfensis was a species of the genus known only through a handful of representative. The first of which was discovered by Bernard Ngeneo, a member of a team led by anthropologist and zoologist in 1972. At on the east side of Lake Rudolf(now) in. The scientific name Pithecanthropus rudolfensis was proposed in 1978 by. 1] It was later changed to Homo rudolfensis by Bernard Wood, 2] for the specimen Skull 1470(KNM ER 1470) On 8 August 2012. A team led by announced the discovery of ... morea face and two jawbones belonging to H. rudolfensis. The fossil KNM-ER 1470 was the center of much debate concerning its species. The skull was at first incorrectly dated at nearly three million years old. Predating the species. Since then. The estimate has been corrected to 1.9 million years, but the differences in this skull, when compared to others of the Homo habilis species. Are said to be too pronounced, leading to the presumption of a Homo rudolfensis species. Contemporary with Homo habilis. It is not certain whether H. rudolfensis was ancestral to the later species of Homo. Or whether H. habilis was. Or whether some third species, yet undiscovered, was ancestral to the later Homo line. In March 2007. A team led by Timothy Bromage, an anthropologist at New York University, reconstructed the skull of KNM-ER 1470. The new construction looked very ape-like(possibly due to an exaggerated rotation of the skull[ 3] and the based on the new construction was reported to be downsized from 752 cm³ to about 526 cm³. Although this seemed to be a matter of some controversy. 4] Bromage said his team's reconstruction included biological knowledge not known at the tim

Terrific Quartzite Cleaver - Handaxe, Paleolithic Lower Acheulian 600.000 BC
Terrific Quartzite Cleaver- Handaxe. Paleolithic Lower Acheulian 600.000 BC Description Type: cleaver(handaxe) on flake. Paleolithic Period. Industry: Lower Palaeolithic. Lower Acheulian. Dating: archaeological research in Western Europe proved that the European continent has been conquested as early as 1.3 to 1,1 Mio years(finds of Atapuerca/ Spain) Early Pleistocene. The assignment of the oldest human finds at Atapuerca to a particular early human species as Homo erectus or Homo antecessor is still controversial. As controversially discussed is the earliest date of permanent colonization of Europe, and good dating of the high gravel terraces of southern French rivers is still lacking. So we suggest an estimated time frame of approx. 800.000 to 400.000 BC. Description: Size: length 10.3 cm, width 8,6 cm, thickness 3,7 cm, weight 370 grams, ... moreShape. Retouch: a terrific. Very typical cleaver on a type of flake which in particular was produced and used for cleavers. In this case, flaking direction is crossways to the long axis of the tool, see point of percussion in the picture of the interior side. The tool is wedge-shaped whith thick proximal and thin distal end(Cutting, working edge) This edge has fine use-scars on the interior side. The left lateral edge has some fine retouch, and, very interesting, the exterior side is thinned with one large strike, see the flake scar on the right part of the exterior side. Butt and right edge are cortical. Raw-material: a flake out of gray quartzite. The most common raw-material on the Garonne terraces, Preservation: very well. The surface is somewhat weathered. But flake scars are well defined. One tiny flat flea-bite at the distal end, almost invisible. Additional Information. Literature: The pebble tools found on the high gravel terraces of the Garonne. Tarn and Aveyron river are among the earliest tools found in Europe. Lit: A. Tavoso, Le Paléolithique supérieur et moyen du Haut-Languedoc, Paris 1978. Origin. Site: high gravel terrace of the Garonne. South of Tou

Neolithic big blade core ‘Livre de Beurre’ Le Grand Pressigny grande taille RARE
A flint stone core. Found in the direct neighborhood of Le Grand Pressigny in France, where a stratum of flint stone, thick about 10 inches, comes to the surface. It is called a“livre de beurre” a pound of butter” because it resembles the form of butter being sold in France on markets just till the beginning of the 20 th century. The slats of flint stone. Produced of such a big chunk by a sort of Neolithic pre-industrial activity, were very sought after and for that reason exported through Western-Europe over great distances and subsequently transformed in utensils on their end station. Because the layer of flint stone was abundant these rest items in the form of a“livre de beurre” just were dropped. Standard shipment is on buyers risk. Neolithic Flint Arrowhead 23mm - 4000BC (E138)
Neolithic 23mm Width: 22mm Material: Flint Colour: Grey Type: Triangle Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The ... moreSahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. Finding and collecting items such as these provides them with a reasonable, stable income. Payment via Paypal only- sorry. Had problems with other methods in the past. Payment within 7 days please. WOW!! large and sturdy Aurignacien borer/drill ca. 35 000BC
The Aurignacien in Europe the first wide spread European culture of modern man. Also known as Homo sapiens sapiens or Cro-Magnon man, is the Aurignacian. Bones from hunted animals are seldom found, and the discovery of human remains is an extremly rare occasion. The discovery of ice age artworks anywhere is also a very seldom occurrence. Thus, the finds made on the Swabian Alb and in the French Pyrenees have been acknowledged as a true world sensation. Pointe triangulaire néolithique en obsidienne : Corse , France : 64 mm.
Pointe neolithique en obsidienne. Rétouchée tout à l'entour. Longueur: 64 mm; Poids: 27 gr. Eclat sur OBSIDIENNE. Une roche coupante, noire et brillante. Provenance: I Calanchi( Sollacaro, Corse-du- Sud. France) ramassage de surface. Neolithique moyen: 8/6.000 ans. Perfect ornamented spindle whorl. Cucuteni-Trypillian culture ca 3500-3000BC
Perfect ornamented spindle whorl. Cucuteni-Trypillian culture ca 3500-3000BC The Cucuteni-Trypillian culture. Also known as Cucuteni culture(from Romanian) Trypillian culture(from Ukrainian) or Tripolye culture(from Russian) is a Neolithic–Eneolithic archaeological culture which existed from approximately 4800 to 3000 BC, from the Carpathian Mountains to the Dniester and Dnieper regions in modern-day Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine, encompassing an area of more than 35,000 km2(14,000 sq mi) During the Trypillia BII, CI, and CI-II phases, populations belonging to the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture built the largest settlements in Neolithic Europe, some of which contained as many as 1,600 structures. However, the majority of Cucuteni-Trypillian settlements consisted of high-density, small settlements(spaced 3 to 4 kilometers apart) concentrated ... moremainly in the Siret, Prut, and Dniester river valleys. One of the most notable aspects of this culture was the periodic destruction of settlements. With each single-habitation site having a roughly 60 to 80 year lifetime. The purpose of burning these settlements is a subject of debate among scholars; some of the settlements were reconstructed several times on top of earlier habitational levels, preserving the shape and the orientation of the older buildings. One particular location, the Poduri site(Romania) revealed thirteen habitation levels that were constructed on top of each other over many years. 1" diameter. Calcined clay. Ceramics. Condition-GOOD.
