Description This is nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and it is painted. There are carved floral medallions at the top on three sides. The shaft has beveled tapered corners. It is notched for the step. It measures 52 tall and 7.75 inches square at the base. It is 6 square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. One of the floral medallions has a chip. Please see the pictures carefully. Ref: 111230 Shipping. There are some rubs to the finish and holes where the dowels would have been but otherwise is in good condition. This piece has been hand-carved out of a single piece of stone resembling an ancient column found in Greek or Roman temples. The work dates back to the 19 90's. Solid OAK Newel POSTS and STAIRCASE RAILING with Spindles =
For sale is a nice solid oak Railing and newel posts. The larger newel post is 51" tall and 8" square at the widest. The top to it is not original. A light was mounted there at one time. The electrical lines were still inside when I removed the post. Other than that it is in good shape needing cleaned and maybe refinished. Depending on your look. The railing is in great shape but one spindle does have a split in it. It is not broken but one does have a split. It is 110" long. The top newel post is 37"tall from floor to top. Then it has the extra length that would wrap down the side of the Stairs. It is only 5" square but the ball on top of it is original and can be used to replace the unoriginal one at the bottom. Huge set of porch column posts or Piers from a circa 1890 classical style victorian home. Measure 93" tall- are fluted with 10" square shafts and are 13.5" square on top capital and bottom base. There is a 6' run of railing- the railing is 28" high with 5" wide hand rail on top. Balusters are 2.75" square and 20.5" tall. Great set- most likely for a porch overhang. Architectural Concrete Fence Posts. These posts came from a farm close to Elwood. Indiana. We believe they date back to the 30's or 40's. There are approximately 50 posts and we will sell them in any increment from 1 to 50. They are approx 7-8feet long, about three in the ground and around five above. Approx 5"x5" on top and approx 8x8 at ground level. There are treated 2x4's on each post we utilized to install high tensile fence, which can be easily removed if not needed. Up for auction we have a fantastic 19th century European possibly Italian Victorian column or plant stand. The body being supported by a scantily clad Victorian lady. Holding the stepped carved top, supported by the linear and geometrical base and foot. The entire piece is constructed out of mahogany and bears a magnificent patina! Size: 28” in height. Condition report: After close inspection we find the column to have several cracks in the wood located at the base, body, and wrist of lady. Otherwise very good for its age.
