It has lovely carved details on the front as well as applied carved details, and the original hardware is intact. It does have some light surface scratches and wear from general use, but no major damage or gouges. It has beautiful grain and was manufactured by a trusted furniture manufacturer. It was made by the Lane Company in Virginia. The chest is 20.5” tall, 43.5” long, 18.5” wide, and 11” deep when the lid is open. It is made to lock, however, there is not a key with it.

This box ... morehas outer strap hinges that were riveted on with brass. A set of strap hinges were added down the middle for added strength, these were fastened with antique wood screws. The bottom part of the padlock latch is attached to a modified strap hinge. The paint is chipped and chipping. There is an oil stain around the hinge of the padlock latch, someone penciled a circle on the lid*under* the handle- so the circle, apparently, is from before the handle was added.and that handle has been attached for a long time! Inside there is a tray with a hole cut out of it to accommodate some unknown tool of yester-year. The tray must have been made from an old crate as the word"GLASS" can still be seen stenciled on one board. On the outside. Below the lid, there is a thin notch, one can only wonder what function that notch was cut for. The often missing handles on the side are firmly attached with antique wood screws. Measures: 31. 15/16 inches wide- 9, 3/8 inches deep and 10, 1/2 inches tall. This box is sturdy with no loose screws. Inside the shelf is dirty, there are water stains on the bottom and inside. Please see and enlarge the photos for a good look. I will combine shipping whenever possible. I can ship this or you may pick this up at the Quakertown Farmers Market- Friday or Saturday morning. This is a high-quality ... morechest. The burl walnut fronts, and walnut solid wood is in wonderful condition. The hardware is all original. This is a high-quality chest on chest in the William and Mary style. I am not sure who made this, but the secondary wood is all tiger sawn oak which is a sign of high quality. It has the William and Mary style typical Jacobean style looking base joined together with the appropriate looking cross stretchers. It has three drawers along the base of the cabinet and the top has three large drawers and two small drawers. The drawers are dainty picture frame molded and dove tail. The locks are all there, but we do not have a key.

It is a ... moregorgeous chest dating from the 1890s to 1900s in the original dark oak stain finish that has aged to a beautiful patina over the last 125 years. It has two drawers on top that are dove tail and four large deep drawers below. The only thing wrong with this dresser is that when it came into the shop the two handles on the bottom were missing and we put on reproduction hardware that is similar, but do not match. The dresser is completely tiger sawn oak with solid oak posts going down into a cabriole leg, shapely bottom skirt, multiple molded shapely top and the carved backsplash makes the whole dresser. The overall finish is nice original. It does not have a key.

American Empire Antique Wig Chest Dresser Crotch Flame Mahogany~Marble Top 1825
Here we have a very Rare Empire Dresser for your consideration. This is a very fine Wishbone Mirrored Dresser with side wig curio cabinets. These dressers have always been the Cadilac of Empire Dressers. But this one is one of the finest we have ever seen. The burled or Flame Mahogany is fantastic. The colors are just beautiful. We do not have the exact history. But the party we bought the dresser from, told us that this dresser was saved in Katrina from the Huricane in New Orleans. It was transported north and sold to raise money for the people who once owned it there. We bought it from the next party who purchased it. The dresser is of such fine quality, and has all original parts. The only thing it may need is some new screws in the back when the wig cabinets mount. At the moment it is all assembled and they were not needed. But when the ... moredresser comes to its new home, that is one addition we would suggest is new screws in the back area. The wood on every side is pristine on this piece. The only thing you would find is normal wear from a dresser of such a grand age. All that is needed is a nice polish and this piece is ready to set up and be displayed with pride. The dresser is 77" tall by 43" wide by 21" deep. The mirror attaches on each curio side with wooden screws and original knobs. The drawer fronts have the carving at the top and bottoms and the matched grain of the wood is outstanding. This piece could be by the famous cabinet maker Thomas Day. As even the sides of the dresser have fantastic matched graining. The hand made dove tails and brass locks, are all top notch and fine quality. The marble top inset is beautiful thick Italian Marble with nice grain and detail. There are no chips, nor cracks on the marble. It could use a polish from a marble professional. But the patina and wear only adds charactor to the piece. I believe it is empire style. It measures 8 1/2" wide by 8 3/3" high by 4" deep. drawers are all dovetailed by hand and square head nails used for the other parts. There is grooves on the top drawers where I believe there was a mirror at one time which has been long lost. It is missing one pull and I don't know if they are original. One leg is missing in the back. the piece does have a piece off of the front edge of the top. I believe it is the original finish with wear from the years. The original finish is very well preserved on this European furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm honeyed patina. I have for sale an antique chest of drawers/ dresser. Made of pine. It is built in the French provincial/ Swedish country style. It has five drawers. It is missing one knob. The knobs are not original. They were purchased at Anthropologie store. The chest is 50" tall. 34" wide, and 18" deep. Each drawer has inner dimension of: 27" wide. 14" deep and 7" tall. It was love at first sight when I met this Bureau/ Chest of Drawers. Circa 1890.needing to be loving restored to a majestic chest once again. I lovingly and meticulously restored this chest from top to bottom. Respecting it as the wonderful antique treasure it is.You can easily see it is a"chest on chest" style. It features beautiful walnut veneers and solid walnut woods. The solid brass hardware is all original and very intricate. Stunning really. I buffed it back to full glory. The lower drawers have a carving which outlines all the lower drawers together(see photo)There is a very small squiggle in the carving(close up photo) which was done by the maker on the lower drawer, it adds great character. No one has ever noticed it until I pointed it out to them. All of the drawers have been fully restored and slide excellent. The Sheraton ... morestyle legs with fluted corner posts enhance the lines of this chest.I restored the finish using many, many coats of hand rubbed satin varnish which bringing out the gorgeous walnut grains. Built like a tank from all hardwood construction. I custom made the small piece of walnut trim in front of the backsplash.The two small doors are a very unique feature. I installed new magnetic catches for the doors. All of the drawers feature lock and keyed dovetail joinery. Strong, solid and secure displaying the finest craftsmanship by the maker. I restored the inside of all the drawers with the same hand rubbed satin finish as the exterior of the chest.The drawer bottoms are rich& beautiful grained mahogany. Like any fine antique.You will find character marks and minor imperfections in the this piece, such as nick, dings, filled holes, they add character and patina to this wonderful chest. The chest is rock solid, stable and ready to"set it and forget it" there are no issues needing attention, just use it and enjoy it for years to come.This chest has been restored with the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Round figured knobs appear to be original. Drawers have hand-cut lap dovetails and cockbeading of the type brought into use starting in the 1770s. Overall condition is excellent. There is a chip approximately 1" long from the veneer along the front right edge. Which no doubt can be easily repaired by a professional. Overall condition of the veneer is excellent, but there is some buckling on the left side of the piece, consistent with its age. Bottom features bracketed feet and an elegant shaped skirt on front and sides. New yew veneers and a new base, the chest now looks remarkably stunning. The yew displays a deep, lustrous complexion and a striking grain, which are complemented by the lovely ... morestring ebony inlay. Each drawer of course features hand-cut dovetailed joints and still operates smoothly, while the shaped bracket feet are as sturdy as they are elegant. Because the veneers are new, there is really no wear to speak of, although the yew has been hand-distressed to look like an antique. The locks also no longer function, but otherwise this chest remains in excellent condition. As you can see. This chest contains plenty of storage space. Even the sides look great. During a recent restoration. This chest was fitted with new yew veneers over the original carcass. String ebony inlay contrasts beautifully with the yew. These solid brass pulls were newly added during the restoration. This bowl star inlay. Which is composed of alternating bands of ebony and satinwood, was also added during the restoration. Antique Victorian Aesthetic walnut 5 drw chest w/pull out shelf
Offered for auction is this very nice circa 1870's-1880's AestheticWalnut Victorian chest of drawers. The chest is a very nice small size. 38" t x 30" w x 19" d. It has 5 graduated drawers and under the top drawer is a pull out flat shelf for writing or folding clothes(see pic 4) The front stiles have nice Aesthetic carvings at the top and the sides are recessed rectangular panels surrounded by molding. Plinth base and raised on casters. The stamped brass bail handles and backplates have a wonderful scenic design. The top has been used a lot so will need to be cleaned up and maybe even refinished due to all the scraping and scratches. But still is useable and functional. Scratches, dings, etc consistent with age and use.

Spectacular"Highly Figured Solid Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts. All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of ... morehand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. They will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser.
