Capable of seating six people comfortably when it is fully opened. The mahogany leaves are single solid boards with reeding along the edges that mirrors the legs, each hanging on original hand forged iron hinges to easily swing up and down. A flamed mahogany veneer completes the apron of the table. The table has six legs, an expensive feature that was time consuming and reserved for a more affluent client. It allows the table to remain firmly rooted while the leaves are extended, truly making it a fully functional dining table. The legs swing over knuckle joints formed of solid oak. In unison with the exterior of the table frame, this surrounding what appears to be pine secondary wood making up the inside of the table frame. These thick secondary woods are remarkably strong and allow the leg to remain in nearly untouched condition after nearly 200 years. The table rests over turned double-rings over sharp reeding, to terminate again in double ringlets over tapered feet. This is a very attractive example for collectors of American forms. Crafted in a distinct manner to that of John Needles. Needles is well known as an artisan with significant output in the Baltimore. Maryland area during the height of the American Classical period. Labeled and documented works by the shop of John Needles are typically accompanied by unusually strong and nearly triangular reeding on legs or pillars, typically in tables though also found in large cabinets and sideboards. He was most active in the years of 1810-48, where the majority of his twenty-four surviving documented forms are crafted. After serving a five-year apprenticeship on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with James Neale of Easton. Needles migrated to Baltimore in 1808 and after a brief apprenticeship under Edward Priestl

Steampunk Trunk Kit Vintage Brass Plated Hardware w/Leather Handles
This trunk hardware and leather handles are from the early 1970s. The patina on the brass is from their age. The leather handles are 9 3/4" long and three ply at 5/16" thick. There are 8 corners. 20 knees, 1 Long lock w/key, 2 large rectangular draw downs, 2 handles, 4 handle clamps, 2 hinges, and 2 lid stays. This is a similar list of hardware and handles used to build the trunk in the second photo(from 1974) thought seeing the finished product with similar hardware would help. TRUNK NOT INCLUDED, this item is the HARDWARE KIT ONLY. I can draw up the plans for that one if it would help a project. I handmade the metal trim from sheet aluminum and cut the bows from 3/4" X 2 1/4" oak that I split and rounded the edges of each half on a table router, pretty easy stuff. This is a 110% authentic and genuine antique Louis Vuitton Steamer wardrobe upright trunk dating back to 1913. It's in remarkably great condition. It has all the original hardware with 5 wheels(4 on the bottom and 1 on the side) and 2 handles. The wheel on the side allows the trunk to open easily when it stands on one end. This was convenient when it was used as a wardrobe trunk. The monogram canvas. The wooden slats on the bottom, the locks, the nails, and the leather straps are all marked with LV and/or Louis Vuitton. It is hand painted and monogrammed with the initials L.J.P- it was once used as a wardrobe trunk, the tray is gone but the cedar slat is still there. The front lock says 1 Rue Scribe, Paris, Louis Vuitton, London, 149 New Bond Street, Made In France. The lock number is 039456. Vintage Early 1900's Childs Doll Chest Rare Find In Dark Walnut Dark Oak
Up for bid is a lovely rare in this size childs baby chest used to store their dolls and clothing etc. This is hand made just like the large style used by adults. It is in its original condition including a victorian postcard decoration in the cover portion of the trunk. The leather straps are present and in tact-the only think I can see is that the top half of the right hand closure is missing. Please see the pictures. The wood on the cover is lighter than the rest of the chest-I am guessing that 2 types of wood both dark. The measurements of the chest are 12 inches high. 18 inches wide and 10 1/2 inches deep. Up for auction is a vintage 1921 Belber steamer wardrobe trunk that is in great condition for its age; lovely worn-look It was manufactured by the Belber Trunk and Bag Company Phiadelphia. Pa. It was purchased at H.R. Knapp Leather Goods in Pottsville. Pennsylvania. It has stickers that tell that it travelled on the American Railway Express Company from Schuylkill County to Philadelphia with a young woman who attended Temple University teacher’s college. Dimensions are 41.5" x 21.5" x 21" Handle intact. All hardware is intact with all the rivets except the key is lost, 5 drawers that open and close, a separated small matching case, an ironing board; Has the Original Bar which goes thru the drawers to keep them secure during travel The ... morepatent date of April 19, 1921 is on it. Drawers still open and close. Hanger Rods still extend. But there are no hangers. Top opens so you can take the clothes out in the back without having to take the ones in front out first. It has the original material with some small snags; no holes in the interior or exterior. Isabella Irene Francks was the owner and lived in Frackville. Pa. She graduated from Temple University on June 14, 1928 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. There are several Vintage handwritten letters included from her which gives the piece alot of character. This is a great piece of local history. When I sell something on Ebay I describe it how it REALLY is. No bull here, only facts on how something is and thats the way it should be. Period. HERE’S AN INCREDIBLE ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1920S(POSSIBLY EARLIER) CHILD’S STEAMER TRUNK COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL REMOVABLE TRAY AND ALL OF ITS INTERIOR FABRIC IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION! Measuring thirteen and a quarter inches(13 ¼” in height. Eighteen and a quarter inches(18 ¼” in length, and eleven and a quarter inches(11 ¼” in width or depth(depending on how you view it) this rare vintage child’s steamer trunk displays an original black faux leather and metal exterior with thick straps complete with rows and rows of brass-colored studs(rivets) approximately 450 of them! Please Note: While all of the hardware appears to be made from brass. Including the studs, corners, hinges, lock, and handle plates, all of them stick to a magnet. To this end, of the metalwork is made from brass-plated steel. There is also an original metal tag ... moreon the trunk’s top front edge that reads: Holden Trunk& Bag Co. Inc. Petersburg. VA” As you can see from the photographs attached above. The trunk’s interior has all of its original pink, green, and white floral fabric, all of which is in amazingly beautiful condition– no damage! In fact. The trunk itself is in amazingly nice condition. There are really only two(2) issues. The side handles for the trunk were made from strap leather. One of these leather handles is missing(on the trunk’s right side) The other leather handle, which is still present, is split in middle(on the trunk’s left side) Overall. This trunk is all original– untouched! While there are some general small scratches and minor loss to the black patina, as well as some very fine little white paint speckles on the top(these are very fine and not visually distracting) this trunk was well maintained and the little girl who owned it treated it with affection. I say“little girl” because this trunk was filled with all of the items one would expect a little girl to own back in the 1920s. Also. I can remember as young girl, this trunk in my great grandmother's house with dolls' sitting inside it. The interior paper that it is lined with is adorable. Rare Louis Vuitton Shoe Trunk 1920s
Clean but not"renovated. this trunk looks much as it did the last time it was used, including an engaging detail: We get to read the extent of the first owner's lavish 1920s life-style through her shoe labels, still filled out in pencil on the trunk shoe boxes. The 30 penciled labels in French(detail photo 7) describe a large and expensive catalog of shoes. For example. daytime(new) kid maroon decorated with crocodile. Trunk history since the 1920s is u nknown until the seller bought it in the early 1970s. At that time. Instead of transporting shoes, she used it as an eye-catching, versatile piece of furniture that held bottles of wine, good silver, and serving platters. Most recently, it was a pedestal for a lamp and art work. The vertical trunk measures 44 x 25 x 16 inches. Broken into various compartments: 30 shoe boxes(detail ... morephotos 7 and 8) an open shelf(formerly the space for a large drawer) two nested trays on top, and one large drawer on the bottom(detail photo 9) The signature Louis Vuitton name and source details appear in numerous locations. The locking latch is stamped. 10 Champs Elysees/Paris/Louis Vuitton/ London/ 148 New Bond Street/ Made in France. Also, there are two numbers: One, which is partially scratched through, may be 084295. The other, larger number, clearly stamped, is 054184. On the inside of the top lid are two small labels. The one on the left says, Bought from Sacks Company, Fifth Avenue, New York. The companion label on the right is not readable except for the word"London" and has a section(mysteriously) cut out. All brass hardware is in-tact and in good condition. And so are the leather side handles and most of the leather protecting the edges. Wooden slats, held by decorative brass pins on front and back, clearly took the brunt of rough handling, leaving the printed canvas with relatively few scratches and no tears. Offering this very attractive antique Lane small profile Cedar Chest style#336 with a manufacturing date of July 26. 1927. This petite beauty is just 36 inches wide, 17 1/2 inches deep and just 14 1/2 inches tall. It could have been or could be slightly taller if the caster feet were replaced. It has two copper or brass plated gate post looking straps which is a nice matching add to the fine petina of the cedar wood. There are some rough marks and finish misses, heavy on left front edge and some other visible scratch markings in other areas of the lid. See Photos. For Sale I have this fantastic Vintage Travel Chest measuring 20.5 inches across. 16.5 inches wide, and 15 inches deep, and made by the Flaxite Foundation circa. 1920, so British Made, and probably tied in with the Papworth Industries who I think made them, and another suitcase I listed earlier. This is a great rectangular box shape. Very sturdy and solid, internally and externally lined with flax, with thick leather corner protectors& an incredibly solid leather handle. The outer covering is a lovely well worn brown colour, with solid bronzed clasps that work perfectly, but are sadly without keys. Internally is a clear cream check. This is a very well used packing case. And shows masses of wear and character. It has"U. S. in large black letters on two sides, and would look ideal on a western stagecoach, or paddle steamer.

Antique Travel Case for an English Gentleman to travel with Top Hat and Tails

Restored Civil War Era Steamer Trunk
I have for sale a restored Civil War Era Steamer Trunk made around the time of the Civil War. It is in very good condition and the interior lined with cedar. It originally was covered with leather which had to be removed. It is an excellent and rare trunk that can be used for storage or as a coffee table. It has a removable tray on the inside. The nails are solid brass and it is trimed with metal straps. It will last another 150 years or so. The lock does work. It measures 27 inches long by 16 1/2 inches wide by 14 1/2 inches high. I will drive up to an hour to meet with the person who wins the auction to deliver the trunk.

unusual antique grain painted mess kit insulated trunk w/ hot food kettles
SquareTrade © AP6.0 This is one of the most unusual antiques I've come across in years. It's some type of insulated mess kit or hot food trunk. Circa early 1900's in my estimation. I don't believe it's military because it would be army green or black. Possibly scouting or camping oriented. Item measures 36 3/4" long x 15 1/2" front to back x 16" tall. On metal castor wheels which I believe are original. The base is actually formed sheet metal with a faux quarter sawn oak grain painted finish. Which is absolutely fantastic and real looking. You could stair at it all day long and swear it's solid oak- until you touch it. The top band on the box where the hinges attach is the only real piece of oak. The top of the lid is brown painted sheet metal. Box in insulated allover and there are 3 kettle insert ... morechambers. Side chambers are 8 1/4" diameter and the middle one is 10" Each chamber has it's own insulated topper plug with bail handle. Each chamber also has a band metal cross member that lays flat on the bottom along with a heavy cast iron disc to sit on top. I believe the cast iron discs would be to help preserve the heat. Trunk is missing one of the small kettles. The other 2 are Wear-Ever brand with the original lids and in very good condition. Item is in very good original condition although not perfect. Tin metal bottom of the left side chamber is detached and laying loose. Sheet metal is rusted through on the bottom right and you can see some of the paper wadding insulation showing through. Left side also is then and has some small rust spots. Top of the lid has surface rust coming through the paint in some areas. I don't believe the latch post are original. It appears that they were replaced with common flat head screws. Overall very good for its age and it's quite an interesting piece which draws attention from everyone that walks by it. Antique HARTMANN Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Cushion Top No Reserve
You are bidding on an antique Hartmann brand wardrobe steamer trunk in amazing condition. It has almost all of its original accessories and hardware. Many hangers are included. Possibly more than originally equipped. Both the securing bar for the drawers and the securing bar for the clothes are present and original. It is very large measuring 40"x23"x25" It is also very heavy. This trunk has been in our family for so long that no one even remembers where it came from. Until recently, we could not open it because it was locked and we had no key. We had a key made for it and were amazed at how great it looked when we opened it up. There is no key for the securing bar for the drawers, but it is not seized and should work properly if a new key is made. It needs a new handle as it is missing. It should be a standard leather strap ... moretype for which reproductions are available and inexpensive. The only other thing I see that may be missing is a travel case that would lock into the hanger area. If you look at the drawers, you will see the Hartmann logo on the handles, and there is some of the original label left on the top. It has gold color interior with very nice trim. Some wear on the contact areas like the drawer slides, but overall, it looks hardly used. Based on its design, I would say that it is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. I was unable to confirm this, and base my guess on some old advertising I was researching. I welcome any information as to its time of manufacture. This is a mahogany custom ball and claw Chippendale storage chest with a gadroon edge. Carved front, raised panel drawers and cedar lining. ... moreIt was made so it go anywhere in the house, and looks just like a Chippendale low boy, with all mahogany on the outside and cedar lined on the inside. This particular model is better than average, with a gadroon or rope edge on top. Norm, our refinisher, brought it in and re-sprayed the top and paste filled it, and now it’s just as smooth as a baby’s bottom. It has carved columns with acanthus carved leaves, big clamshell carving in the center of the simulated drawer fronts on the top of the cavity, and underneath is a real dovetail drawer which is unusual. It’s all finished off with a ball and claw foot. The top does have a lock that has been disabled. The top opens to expose the cedar-lined interior. The cool thing about these chests is that no matter how old they get, or how long you have them, any time you want to refresh the cedar, you can just take some sandpaper and sand it down a bit, and the cedar freshens instantly. It’s a gorgeous cabinet, with heavy cast brass hardware, and it was obviously made by someone really talented because it’s of better quality than a Lane or other popular chests. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Measuring 36ins(92cms) wide x 20ins(51cms) deep x 14ins(35cms) high, it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective bands on the edges and corners and twin catches at the front, with a central lock and clasp, and a carrying handle at either end. It is finished in a blue colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well and there is the original key for the central lock. Approximately 1925 Classic Louis Vuitton shipping trunk. 44" long; 21" tall and 22" deep(front to back) Center latch and side handle grips are brass. No shipping labels but initials"F.K. are on one side in Gold lettering. Very good condtion throughout with slight water stain on inside top lining Serial# 153471 on latch and inside top lip. One owner; has been in family since 1920's. Must sell to highest bidder.

This one is the oldest& the smallest of the three. It appears to be pre 1940's. It has the initals K.C. hand painted on each end by Louis Vuitton. Bought from John Wanamaker Department Store in New York. The serial number is 793314. It has a Hotel Savoia Majestic. Genova, Italy label on the left side& part of a Cunard White label on the lid. The main latch catch has: 149 New Bond St. London on the left side& 70 Champs Elysess on the right side. It measures aprox 27 3/4" L X 8 3/4" H X 17 1/4" W. There are some scratches& wear but all in all very good shape for it's age. After all it was used as luggage on cruise ships& hotels. We visited the Louis ... moreVuitton Shop at Lenox Mall in Atlanta. Ga. was informed that Louis Vuitton can replace the missing handle. It does have the tray. There is some staining inside& pieces of tape on the lid. 2. The middle size was purchased at Marshall Fields. Pre 1950's? It has EPW handpainted on each end. The serial# is 793347. This one also has 149 New Bond St. London on the left side& 70 Champs Elysess on the right side of the main latch catch. It measures 29 3/4 L X 8 1/2" H X 18 1/8" W. There are also pieces of tape on the inside lid. There is some age related wear& scratches. It used as luggage on cruises& hotels& has some staining inside. It does have the tray. 3. The largest& newest of the three. It also has EPW handpainted on each end. The serial# is 907716. The handle has some wear. But the trunk itself has very little. The inside has little or no wear at all. Looks new. I checked at the LV store in Atlanta& found the same size bag listed for over $7.800.00. Not sure of the age maybe the 70's or 80's.
