Neolithic Flint Arrowhead 27mm - 4000BC (D048)
Neolithic 27mm Width: 14mm Material: Flint Colour: Pink/ White Type: Barbed and Tanged Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. This is not a reflection on the density of usage of these items but more a reflection of the areas current climate- being very arid it makes it easier to find these items. The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert. Over 9,000,000 km²(3,500,000 mi²) almost as large as the United States. The Sahara is located in northern Africa and is 2.5 million years old. Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River ... moreon the south. The Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. The Sahara divides the continent of Africa into North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The southern border of the Sahara is marked by a band of semiarid savanna called the Sahel; south of the Sahel lies the lusher Sudan and the Congo River Basin. During the Late Neolithic period(approx 4000BC– 2000BC) the Sahara had a much wetter climate(sometimes known as the Aqualithic) and was akin to modern day North America. Arrowheads are typically collected and traded by the local nomadic peoples of the Sahara. They find them as the sand dunes move and they travel around seasonally grazing their herds. Finding and collecting items such as these provides them with a reasonable, stable income. Payment via Paypal only- sorry. Had problems with other methods in the past. Payment within 7 days please. LOTE DE PIEZAS DEL NEOLÍTICO ROTAS Y FRAGMENTADAS +++ USA +++ Amerindios
Las de la foto. Unas 50 piezas. A mi parecer. Authentic Ancient Prehistoric Flint Spear Head Blade
Authentic Ancient Prehistoric Flint Spear Head Blade Search Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Authentic. Prehistoric(the period prior to written records) flint spear head. This Pre-historic spear head was created by early modern man(Homo sapiens) between 10,000 and 6,500 years ago. The prehistoric craftsmen removed small pieces of rock or flakes from the core using a techniques called percussion flaking. This involved striking a portion of the core with a stone hammer. To make more elaborate tools such as arrow heads or spear points. The tool-maker had to do additional shaping and thinning. When the approximate shape was obtained, the final stage of thinning the point and sharpening the edges was accomplished by another technique known as pressure flaking. Here, small and thin flakes were pushed off the edges of the tool ... morewith an antler or bone punch. This technique required both skill and physical strength. Several of these finely-made arrow head and spear points have been found in sites as old as 10,000 years. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 15.2 cm(6 in) CONDITION: in good condition; no damage. No restoration or repairs. Showing its age and usage with age patina, the calcified mineral deposits, strongly visible on the surface of the blade, are strong and excellent indicators of the authenticity of this piece. Ancient Danish Stone Age Neolithic Type III Flint Dagger - Gotland
A beautiful. Rare and well provenanced neolithic type III dagger, dating to approximately 2100 B.C. and found in Gotland, Sweden. This wonderful prehistoric stone tool was made from a large piece of flint. Broken down and then painstakingly chipped into form, the attractive surface flaking was created by the use of a soft hammer, likely made from bone, or antler. Beautiful stitching marks run along the tools edges, showing where each tiny chip was removed; evidence of the extreme skill of the ancient craftsman. The emergence of flint daggers in late neolithic Scandinavian cultures is thought to be a fascinating response to new technology being used in the production of bronze daggers in central Europe. From the 3rd millennium onwards. This new metal weaponry clearly made an impression on the surrounding cultures of this period, who began ... moreto make flint copies, and who's influence can be seen through their stylistic similarities. This fascinating early flint implement. Dates to the north-west European Neolithic period(approx 4000-2000 B.C. This period saw the dawn of civilization, when Early man was leaving the Hunter-Gatherer lifestyle towards a more sedentary, farm-oriented existence. This transition is one of the overwhelming achievements of man, enabling food surplus and the rise of civilization. Length: 5 1/4 inches. Condition: Good. Tip of dagger broken. Old collection label bearing'Gotland' likely the find site) still attached. Provenance: An extremely well provenanced piece. From the collection of James Curle(1862-1944) of Melrose, Scotland, and thence by descent. Although a lawyer by profession, Curle was an accomplished amateur archaeologist and his name remains one of the most famous in the field of Romano-British Archaeology, having excavated and published extensively in the early 1900's. From 1888-1903 Curle acquired the most magnificent collection of Nordic antiquities outside Scandinavia, eventually selling most of his pieces to the British Museum in 1921. The Curle collection in the

130-160 million years old ~ 5 x UK found Cheltonia Accipitris Ammonite fossils
130-160 million years old ~ nice collection of 5 x Cheltonia Accipitris Ammonite fossils. These Cheltonian Accipitris ammonites come from the jurassic lower lias sinemurian stage. Found in the oxynotum zone in Gloucester. The site is virtually picked out now so they are becoming scarcer to find and fewer specimins coming to light. All have some colourful shine from the golden iron pyrites they were preserved in. They look brighter due to camera flash than in normal light but I have not polished these and they will buff up. In v arying conditions as shown but they are from the age of dinasaurs!
This is an awesome collection that would be a great addition to any collection. Most of these tools are from the Mousterian time period. They are made primarily of jasper and are from the Fontmaure site in West Central France. You will most likely never be able to find a collection of this quality for this price anywhere. NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR THIS AUCTION UNTIL I SEND YOU AND INVOICE. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED. THE FINAL COST FOR S&H CHARGES PLUS INSURANCE WILL HAVE TO BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO YOUR ZIP CODE. DUE TO THE VALUE OF THESE ARTIFACTS. I WILL USE THE UPS STORE FOR SHIPPING. ONCE I GET A COST FROM THEM I WILL SEND YOU AN INVOICE. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. Rare stone tools ... morewere fashioned by Neanderthals over 40.000 years ago out of gem-grade jasper known to occur ONLY from Fontmaure located in West Central France. The site these specimens were excavated from is only approximately acre in size and is now closed and protected by the government. These rare artifacts were legally collected with the landowner's permission decades ago before the area was sealed. Fontmaure is one of Europe's most famous Neanderthal sites and the fact that this tiny primitive is off-limits to any collecting. Makes these wonderful stone tool artifacts exceedingly rare and desirable! It is theorized that the Neanderthals highly valued the spectacular glowing colored gem, jasper, that is uniquely found at Fontmaure. It is possible that material like this was traded, considered prestigious to own and even fought over. Because of this, it is easy to suppose that the jasper was rationed and smaller tools were fashioned to get as much possible out of each tool core. Large tools are rare from this site and could have easily been considered a possession of great prestige as well as a functional tool. Out of the many archaeological sites in France containing Paleolithic
Sinohydrosaurus
THIS IS THE LAST OFFERING FOR THIS RARE FOSSIL SO DON'T MISS OUT. Up for auction is this extremely rare Sinohydrosaurus. I'm sure most of you have seen the common Chinese fossil marine reptile called Keichousaurus. The Keich is incrediblely abundant and is more than often faked. Somewhat similar in appearance but smaller to the Keich. This prehistoric marine reptile is neither common nor faked. This reptile is the Sinohydrosaurus. The name translates into SINO(China) HYDRO(water) SAURUS(lizard) Even when compared to a genuine Keich, the Sinohyrdosaurus is far more rare. This seldom seen creature is part of the Jehol Biota Group and was found in the Yixian Formation between the Liaoning Province and Inner Mongolia. The Jehol Biota Group ranges from the Late Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous and is famous for the several species of bird ... morefossils and dinosaurs found with primitive feathers. The creature's name Sinohydrosaurus lingyuanensis was officially chosen by the Beijing Nature History Museum but was later changed to Hyphalosaurus lingyuanensis by the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing. The use of the name Sinohydrosaurus is preferred due to its explanative meaning. The future availability of this very-highly desirable species is extremely limited. NOTE: The above description was taken from the website. This specimen was purchased by this seller. The matrix is 5.75"x4" and is housed in a beautiful Chinese box. If stretched out the Sinohydrosaurus would be a little over 4" long. The box is 8.25"x5.75" Don't miss out on this item. You may never see one on ebay again. PLEASE READ: INSURANCE IS REQUIRED! I WILL SEND YOU AN INVOICE WITH A FINAL PRICE BASED ON YOUR ZIP CODE AT THE END OF THE AUCTION.

Neolithic Flint Arrowhead 38mm - 4000BC (D040)
Neolithic 38mm Width: 13mm Material: Flint Colour: Purple/ White Type: Serrated Lead Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on ... morethe south. Dolni Vestonice Venus II : Fake? Doll? Real Venus? - replica
Resin copy of a 13 cm figurine from Dolni Vestonice. Carved of m a mm o t h i vo r y. Probably fake. But hard to say, nobody knows exactly. Its design is quite different from the other finds, but this figurine could serve as a children doll or some toy? More info from the internet: translated and abridged from the Czech by Don Hitchcock) It is an event well remembered from earlier this year when there appeared the exceedingly strange circumstances surrounding the alleged Palaeolithic sculpture. Allegedly originating from Dolní Věstonice, which very quickly gained the name'Věstonice Venus II' When the statue was offered for sale overseas. At an enormously overpriced amount, police, at the request of the relevant authorities, charged with the protection of monuments and exports, seized the object from the then owner, F. Mullandrovi, ... moreand presented it for study to Prof. Dr K. Absolon, whose report was published on 23rd January 1930 by almost all daily newspapers. The report was damning with respect to its authenticity, identifying the statue as' poor. Made recently, an amateurish carved forgery' and that it should be referred for examination by a suitable criminological investigation. Affirming this completely hostile verdict was State Conservator Dr Eng. I. L. Cervinka. As well as the Viennese Museum Director Dr Joseph Bayer of Vienna, who claim the sculpture is a' modern. Clumsy fake' It has been determined that the sculpture has no relationship to known Palaeolithic material. And displays a mental culture quite foreign to the period. However, because of the technical nature of the piece, by carving and scraping, there is no way to confirm or deny its Palaeolithic authenticity on this basis alone. Report on the fake Věstonice Venus II Source: Display. Dolní Věstonice Museum Piece of extremely rare prehistoric art- exact replica. Venus of Dolni Vestonice. South Moravia, the Czech Republic, Europe. 25,000- 29,000 years old. Resin copy of the ceramic original. Is absolutely impossible

Copied from the Internet: THE SOLUTREAN UPPER PALEOLITHIC PERIOD FRANCE. SPAIN& PORTUGAL Estimated 21.000 TO 18,000 YEARS AGO The Solutrean industrial complex appears in western Europe approximately 21.000 years ago. The Solutrean period also brings with it several new and innovative technologies. One of the most important developments during this period involves lithic technology with the production of very skillfully crafted stone tools. These events occur within the last major division of the Old World Paleolithic ... morecalled the Upper Paleolithic which dates from 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. The Neanderthals disappear during this time and the basic ideals of what we believe it is to be a modern human are established. It's a time when ghosts and spirits appear to connect with concepts of an afterlife and art in the form of paintings, engravings and three dimensional sculptures appear. The Solutrean people were skilled hunters who were well adapted to a rigorous cold environment. They lived in rock shelters. Caves and open air sites. In lithic technology, their most significant invention was the ability to manufacture thin bifaces in the form of laurel-leaves. During the Upper Solutrean phase they were producing willow leaf, single shouldered, barbed and concave base projectile points. Although the most important Solutrean site is Laugerie Haute the type site for the Solutrean complex is located at Solutre in eastern France. In 1921 R. A. S. Macalister writes, Close to the village of Solutre near Macon(Saone-et-Loire) there rises a prominent cliff, called the Rock of Solutre, in the shelter of which was established one of the most important Paleolithic stations of all Europe. Neolithic Flint Arrowhead 41mm - 4000BC (D054)
Neolithic 41mm Width: 16mm Material: Flint Colour: Grey Type: Bi Face Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The ... moreSahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad.
