From Wikipedia: Hassuna or Tell Hassuna is an ancient Mesopotamian site situated in what was the become ancient Assyria. By around 6000 BC people had moved into the foothills(piedmont) of northernmost Mesopotamia where there was enough rainfall to allow for"dry" agriculture in some places. These were the first farmers in northernmost Mesopotamia. A Cuneiform slate tablet originally from Nippur in Babylonian.2100 BC. I think this is a reproduction of the famous Penn Museum Tablet which is worlds oldest medical text. The pharmacopoeia is believed to be the first known documentation of aspirin.Aloe vera and opium,demonstrating a sophistication and level of medical knowledge equivalent to that in 17th Century England. It appears to be made of some type of slate.It is 9.5cms wide and 15.5cms long.Weight 231 grams. The tablet has a number of small chips down one side and a chip to a corner. I think it has been cut in too at sometime there should be writing on both sides of tablet. Would make an interesting teaching aid.

In my opinion a most interesting example of c 3000 bc INDUS VALLEY. HAND MADE POTTERY: A VERY FINE VOTIVE BULL FIGURE, WITH LARGE HORNS, TRADITIONAL"HUMP" BACK AND TAIL. This examplke has an unusual almost"salt glazed" feel, with a veined, irregular texture to the body of the bull: you will see from the pictures that the colour is a mixture of browns, red-browns. The figure obviously is an interesting reference example. I bought this from an Antiquity dealer at Bartlet Street Antiques Centre, Bath, in the late 1990's. The item is in fine reference order. Both horns have been rstored. With breaks to both, there is also a small amount of slice fritting/nibble chipping to the hump of the bull. No restoration or further damage.Combined postage offered. Robust arrow survives with complete tang and is of elegant, long leaf-shaped form, with shallow mid-rib. The patina is exquisite- a mixture of bright green(malachite) and bright blue(azurite) The largest arrow-type from the Guttmann collection. Arrows such as this were used by the Early Cultures of Babylonia. Assyria and Anatolia. The Near East was at that time one of the most advanced regions on the planet and has been referred to as the"Cradle of Civilization" This arrow would have been used by some long-forgotten soldier, perhaps belonging to one of the mighty armies of Biblical King Nebuchadnezzar, approximately three Millennia ago. VERY INTERESTING EARLY LOOKING SHEET SILVER REPOUSSE PLATE -2nd - 5th CENTURY AD
this could turn out to be a very rare piece. I highly recommend viewing so you can have a good look at it and test the metal, the information i was given was that this is a sheet silver repousse plate from the 2nd-5th century AD, info very welcome if this is correct as i have paid rather alot of money for it. the plate measures about 20.9cm across and weighs about 84 grams on my scales. it has some tiny pin holes, also uneven and distorted in places, info welcome on the scene. around the border on the raised dots there is a gold colour showing through, also on the back rim there is a scratch mark where it was probably tested and that is also a yellow metal colour, so even tho i was told this was sheet silver im having to sell as unknown metal, testing is best option, would be nice if it turned out to be gold. but as it has no hallmarks and ... moreebay rules state if no hallmarks it has to be sold as unknown metal. but my opinion has to go with what i was told when i bought it. surely an extremely rare piece which displays well, its still in very dirty condition but displays well. it came from a collection that was formed in the 1990s along with lots more rare and unusual pieces ive been listing. here is a link to how a similar example was made of sheet silver. With it's hands up and it's tail ending as the head of a snake. This seal originates from the ancient central Asian area known as Bactria, which corresponds roughly to the present-day county of Afghanistan. Steatite stone. Circa 2200 BC to 1700 BC. This piece is very fine and it would be hard to locate another of this museum quality. An image such as this hybrid being. An monkey and a snake, would have possibly had a meaning in Bactrian mythology of the Bronze Age: the serpent is a chthonian animal which was largely widespread in Near Eastern iconography, ... morewhile the monkey is frequently documented in many ancient cultures(China, India, Mediterranean Basin, Mesopotamia) There are other known examples of seals depicting this creature in both stone and bronze, as well as bronze cosmetic flasks with a similar motif.
