The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is painted with an unusual, yellow-orange"faux wood grain finish" on both sides. There are 2, vertical, textured glass lites with 2 raised panels below. Each lite has a different textured pattern(one floral and one swirly) which most likely means that one lite was replaced. It's hard to tell which is the original lite as both lites are old, and both patterns are no longer in production. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. The doors are made of solid wood and have 4 raised panels on each side. Although these are 2 single doors, they are identical in design. Came from the same beautiful home(see photo) they have opposite swings(one swings to the right and the other to the left) and could be easily converted into a pair. We could plug the lockset holes on one of the doors for $40 and we could make an astragal(stop molding; the long, wide vertical molding, which overhangs on the inner edges of one of the doors and covers the gap where the 2 doors meet) for $25- $50. We could also even the height of the doors for $40. Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. However. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Beautiful Antique Eastlake Victorian Brass Doorbell Pullchain Bell Hardware NICE
Up for auction is this antique doorbell. It was purchased at auction here in Ohio. It measures@ 5" in diameter. It has nice Eastlake style decoration on the brass bell. The back and inside components appear to be made of cast iron. The patent date on the inside is 1876. The bell is complete except for the pullchain. You can see on the photo which shows you the back side a channel that the chain goes in. You can easily attach a small chain or rope to make this complete. It has a nice ring to it. Matching pair of ornate. Architectural, salvaged panels, just dying for a little imagination. Solid, quarter sawn oak construction. Square nails mean most likely circa 1865-1885. Starting from the bottom, you have bevelled baseboard trim. Then is a recessed bevelled panel with fluted side columns. Near the top are small carved columns flanking a spoon carved Eastlake panel. Additional Eastlake flowers at top corners with a bevelled arch in between. Some wear/dings but no breaks, missing pieces or repairs. Slight finish imperfections but excellent overall condition. Penn Antique Restoration. 31.5"x83.5"x1.75" Antique Chestnut Interior Door w/5 Raised Panels. Beautiful. antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid, pine core covered with 1/16" thick, birch veneers. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. The door is finished on both sides. But there are spots and patches of paint ... morehere and there. There are 5, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Hardware:  The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. W e  have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with a solid wood. Please email us for a quote. Condition: On the exterior side of the door. There is a small piece of missing/chipped veneer in the lower, left corner, and along the edge of the bottom rail, a triangular portion of veneer is delaminated and just needs to be re-secured with some glue. On the interior side, the top 2 panels have a few, small spots where the veneer is bubbling; there is some veneer missing or broken off from the bottom; and there are some chips in the top, left corner(see photos) We could repair these issues-email us for a quote. But it is very well done. It is depicting the Victorian area with the hand pull toilet, candle stick for light, skeleton key and his cute little round glasses. It is numbered 106/ 141. This 38” 8-foot tall entry door features a triad of square panels at both the top and the bottom, with dentil trim below the window. The stained glass features a centerpiece of clear beveled glass and ribbed glass, surrounded by a brilliant green border. The window has an intricate design studded with jewels and vibrantly colored textured glass, including hammered glass, granite glass, and ripple glass. Two doors have a center panel that is antique pressed(I believe walnut) wood with crotched book matched walnut veneer panels above and below. The third door has three panels of crotch book matched walnut veneer panels. The doors are constructed of mahogany(spanish cedar) with walnut trim. The backing is a smooth plywood cabinet grade. These doors are a custom design incorporating salvaged antique materials. Reclaimed and new wood from Whitmer Design Studio. These doors have never been used and are new although they incorporated antiques materials in the design. They have not been finished- except for the antique panel that was kept in its found state. The two antique paneled doors are prepped for SOSS 216E invisible hinges- see pictures. This auction does include 2 pairs ... moreof the SOSS hinges to mount(2) doors. The center door is prepped for 2" x3" hinges- these hinges are not included. Please ask questions, I do not take returns. Antique Doors - Asian Chinese Japanese Scene Mounted For Display
I bought these doors at an estate sale in the hamptons in the 90's. I was told they were from a really old chest of doors and were from Japan. There are no markings. And I would call the condition shabby chic. The good news is there is no damage to the painted scene or the raised wood on the man and the maiden. The paint on the carved bamboo is worn and the back has a bit of the lacquered wood removed. The scene was originally mounted on boards. In addition now the back is held together with a piece of plywood. I have to say it is amazingly beautiful in person-better than the photos. These are Antique 100+ year old church doors out of a Bradenton Florida Church. Beautiful red leather covered doors. These have very heavy brass handles and brass tacks add design to the outside and inside. Both are doors are exactly the same inside and out. Bottom of doors have some wear but not bad at all for being 100+ years old. there is some paint drips and just general scratches and wear, both doors have a small leaded glass window, original glass, one door has some red and the other door has blue in the glass. outlined in a very nice wood trim. needs cleaning but otherwise excellent condition!
