Painted navy blue on the outside. It features wrap around decorative brass hardware on the top and bottom edges of the trunk itself and on the four corners of the top, please refer to photos for detail. There are two wide decorative brass bands running up the front of the trunk and the lid, across the top of the lid, and down the back of the trunk, all held in place with tiny brass nails. The lid is hinged in the back, all hardware is brass. The front lid features two brass tabs which fold down onto the locking pins. Going through the locking ... morepins are a pair of Japanese locks, very rare nowadays, but popular on storage trunks in the 1920's and 30's. The locks themselves are solid brass, a collector's item in themselves- we have chosen to offer them with the trunk, as they came to us at auction with the trunk. Up for auction is a beautiful 1924 Oshkosh steamer trunk. This is by far the most immaculate one I have ever seen. Great condition inside and out, and still has all the original interior components including hangers, all drawers, even the ironing board. It has the original lock and key and is fully functional. All the brass looks beautiful for its age, has original stickers from all over including what looks like dusseldorf and new york. After serving as commander of Scott Field from 1933 to 1937, spent the majority of the rest of his career on the staff of the Chief of the Army Air Corps. His last assignment on active duty was as commander of Fairchild Field at Spokane, Washington. He retired in 1944 and passed away in March 1965. Quite interesting historical piece! army air corps, who was one of the first five men to volunteer for flight training when the army introduced it in 1911. Col. Kennedy. Went to Germany in 1922 to observe construction of the dirigible Los Angeles for the United States, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor supervised construction of air corps depots on the west coast. He retired in 1944.

Ornate Antique Steamer Trunk. Refinished
You are viewing a very stunning antique Steamer trunk. Out of all the trunks I've refinished. This is by far the most unique. The metal trim on all sides, front and back has a unique detailing to it. I would dare to say it is one of a kind. It has been refinished inside and out to bring out the beautiful patina to the Pine base and Oak slats. The lock is very ornate with great looking designs. The end clamps and hardware are also very detailed and unique. It has 4 working casters on the bottom to help in moving from place to place. I left the original paperwork holder on the inside top of lid. It is a little stained, but all intact with leather strap to keep it shut. The dimensions are; L35" W21" and H24" It has a slight arch to the top, but could still be used as a coffee or end table. Or just display it proudly for everyone ... moreto see. Each trunk takes time and great attention is given to every detail. I encourage you to use the zoom option on every picture provided so you can get a close up of what you are actually getting. Wonderful Antique Painted French Chest
This ia a beautiful antique painted chest(cir. 1920's) that I bought in Maine. The front has painted figures in a landscape with flowers. Etc. It is exquisitly done. There are three small drawers and two large ones that are all dovetailed. It is very heavy and well made, and has wondefully detailed knobs and pulls. There are a few pieces of molding missing around the drawers and a few minor chips and scratches to the surface that are due to the age of the chest. Huge Louis Vuitton steamer trunk circa 1890 #15792
This trunk is early 1890's. It is in beautiful condition for a 120-year-old steamer trunk. It has a very low serial number 15792. You can see in the photos the steel bottom with the Louis Vuitton stamp on both ends. With the steel bottom and wooden slats. This trunk is very sturdy. It has the original casters. The outside of the trunk has been stained. But the stripes from the original fabric are very visible. The inside is covered with the original pink striped ticking. It does have staining and wear on the inside. The original locks have been changed by a previous owner. Dimensions are: 43 inches long, 27.5 inches high, 24 inch depth. This is a vintage piece of luggage that is in used but good condition. It is an extremely rare find and rarer to find in this condition and with key. It is blue slim steamer trunk with blue leather trim and leather handles. The trunk opens up and locks in place to allow for clothes to hang from the hangers. The bottom area has dividers and ribbon ties to secure your items. Both sections have a cloth cover. The bottom has snaps to secure it to the bottom of one of the dividers. This trunk is absolutely adorable. It would make a great display piece, end table, or would make ideal storage. It is also quite usable but it is old so I would handle with some care. Measurements: 16 1/2" high x 13" wide x 3" depth approximately. There is a dead game bird tied to a branch of a tree with carved leaves. The frame is a carved wood tree branch with carved vines wrapped around it. The attention to detail. Fine workmanship of the carving and nice patina make this a nice addition to your collection. It has a hook on the back all ready to hang on your wall. Great piece for a hunting lodge or country home. Condition is very good. There is a split on top that you can see but it isn't all that noticeable and on the back you can see where there was an old crack that was glued. The top show a little varnish crackling due to its age(pictured) and the bottom front left corner has a small scuff/chip(pictured) Outside of that the wear is normal marks scratches consistent with the chest's age. 30s Art Deco Heirloom Wood Roos Sweetheart Cedar Chest w/ Tray Insert Excellent!
Vintage 30s Roos Cedar Chest This is a gorgeous heirloom quality Roos Sweetheart cedar chest from the late 1930s. This Roos chest was made in Forest Park. IL. The chest is made of Claro Walnut, Striped Walnut and Black Walnut. The inside of the chest is aromatic Red Cedar. The cedar chest is still quite aromatic, it has a special sealite lid to prevent the escape of the protective cedar fumes. The chest measures 47-1/4" long, it is 23" tall and 18-1/4" deep. It has a cedar tray on the inside which is 10" deep. The cedar chest is in excellent condition, the wood is rich and it gleams. On close inspection it shows a few vintage scuffs, mainly where the back edge would rub against the wall when opened, but nothing outstanding and it shows no abuse. The inside looks like new. There is a lock on the chest but I do not have ... morea key. This chest comes from a smoke free and pet free home. It is clean and ready to use. Buyers are welcome to ask for other forms of payment. A spectacular antique hand painted chinese trunk dating from the first quarter of the 20th century. Possibly earlier. Wooden construction with a canvas/vellum type material covering the entirety and stitched into place. Wonderful once vibrant palette. Now tastefully muted with the passage of time, depicting traditional scenes. All patterned surfaces are hand painted. With the traditional application of a raised, quasi three dimensional faces. As can been seen, some beautiful, time related distress to the paint work which gives the object a credible and appropriate look for its significant age. Up for auction is this top quality machinists/ jeweler's tool chest. I had been told by a bidder that it was not Gerstner. So I went on a hunt for the maker. Though it does not have a badge, all the details match with Alex Dunn. The drawer profiles, brass) hardware, and unique circle in a square mirror, all match with existing examples of Alex Dunn. Lower drawer bottoms are metal. Upper drawer bottoms are wood. This box comes with the original key! It locks the top, and the top engages throw bolts that lock the cover for the boxes. Great design, and the cases and felts are not in bad shape. Unfortunately, this case has what looks like(a gloppy) coat of polyurathane finish over the outside. This is a Hartmann Steamer Trunk. It does not have a key to it and the lock is able to be opened and closed without one. The top handle is missing and there is a stain/watermark on the top drawer. Vintage steamer/military foot locker trunk- Samson
You are viewing a vintage. Steam/military, foot locker trunk. It is in a military olive green color and has brass clamp over latches on the front with a locking center latch. The latch will close but is loose and I have no key. There is a leather handle underneath the center latch.It has metal side handles and is trimmed around all of the edges with metal attached by metal brads. The metal trim is in black with the corners in a brass. There is patina around the brass latches and the corners. The trunk is a painted wood and has 3 ornate hinges on the back top lid. There is a double compartment wood insert that sits on the inside wood corners and the bottom and top inside has a paper lining but the lining has aged and some has flaked off. There are no cracks in the bottom or the insert. There is a bubbled wood area on the front right side about ... more10" long and about an1" to 2" wide. Slight scruffing is on the bottom from use. There is also a manufacture sticker above the front latch that reads SAMSON- Shwayder Bros. Inc. Denver- Detroit. I think this trunk is from the 1930s-40s and was used as a military trunk possibly although there are no military insigna located on it anywhere. But the side handles being metal and the military olive green is consistant with military items. I know that Shwayder Bros. operated in the 1930s-1939 and Samson later became Samsonite in 1965. The trunk measures 16"x12 1/4" x 30" It weighs approximately 21 lbs. Vintage Multnomah Wardrobe It's dusty and dirty but should clean up nicely! Great restoration project or use as is. Up for your consideration is a vintage Multnomah of Portland Oregon Traveler's wardrobe. The picture make it look dirtier than it really is. Very sturdy but one of the clasps is missing. T he Eagle lock is not seized but will need a key. I nside the brackets for the hangers are in g reat condition as is the retainer. C omes with 3 original hangers. The largest compartment under the first shelf is lined with thick paper with holes. This method is used to protect both the cedar and any items stored. Victorian Mahogany Bureau Chest 5 Drawers 1 Door Serpentine Top
Stately Mahogany chest with five drawers and one door. Featuring a lovely serpentine top. The three bottom drawers are all nice and deep, and feature rounded peg and hole dovetail joints. There are keyholes on each, though two are missing the hardware, and one is missing the lock. The two drawers on the top are smaller, and they are complimented by a swinging door which opens to allow for additional storage. The more recent finish is in very good to excellent condition. The chest has straight rectangular legs and a lightly carved decorative apron. It is a gorgeous. Simple geometric piece, with an outstanding finish. Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Antique HTF!! VERY RARE!
This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition. However. Like all original Tourobe's from the turn of the century, there are some scuff marks, scratches and such on the exterior. Look closely at the destination it traveled. It was sent from a teacher in Germany to an officer in Brooklyn New York. What a distance! Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. 6 total hangers, four for suits and two for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections divided by the hinges: 4 divided sections for folded clothing and miscellaneous items secured with adjustable fastening fabric straps. a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a cotton twill covered pad to protect the suits. which fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. 2 of the 3 buttons are functional. Enabling the section to ... morebe covered. The fastener can easily be replaced by going to a hardware or craft store. I did not want to replace the fastener as it would change the piece from it's original state. Coming from the beginning of the century(early teens of the 1900's) made exclusively for Sax 5th Avenue by the Hartmann Luggage Company. Original U. S. Trunk Company Vintage Antique Flat Trunk 35" X 20" X 13"
Vintage Trunk U. S. Trunk Company 35" X 20" X 13" This is a trunk that has been around a while. It has issues. The inside looks better than the outside. I did not find a key. The first wooden hanger that shows in the picture has a broken end. The end still reaches past the bar. But the bottom of the right hand side is broken off. On one of the other hangers the laminations are coming apart. There are two compartments opposite the hangers portion. The top compartment is on hinges. And the bottom compartment can be taken completely out of the trunk. Those two compartment are in reasonably good shape. There is a compartment than can be covered with a piece of cloth at the bottom on the hanger side. That compartment is in poor shape. You can see the splits in the finish on the outside of the trunk. It needs to be refinished. All ... morethe hasps seem to work. I didn't try to do anything with the lock since there is no key. If you live close enough to Tower. MN to pick this up it would simplify shipping. If you don't I will be happy to wrap this in cardboard and tape and bring it to the UPS store in Virginia, MN 55792. The package will be about 36" X 21" X 14" and it will weigh about 40 pounds. I generally ship things within one working day of when a person pays for them, but that won't be the case with this. The UPS store is about 30 miles from my home and it is only open for a few hours each afternoon. I go there most week days, but I'm not always there when the UPS store is open. I am listing this as a local pick up only. But I will ship it. When I have shipped larger items via UPS before the buyers have mailed a shipping label to me that they had already paid for. Measuring 30ins(76cms) wide x 17ins(43cms) deep x 10.5ins(27cms) high, it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective bands on the edges and corners and twin catches at the front with a central lock and clasp and a leather carrying handle. It is finished in a blue colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well but there is no key for the central lock. I nternally it has the original lining material and a lift out shirt tray. It is in good general condition but has a few signs of use as one might imagine. With scuffs, nicks, scratches and so on and one corner has had a thump at some point in the past.
