Genuine Roos Sweetheart Cedar Chest 1947 with Original Tags - Beautiful
Folks. Up for consideration is a Vintage 1947 Art Deco piece of beautiful furniture. This Vintage Cedar Chest created by Ed Roos and is called the Roos Sweetheart Cedar Chest Model 8009. This particular piece of furniture still has the original tags attached on the inside of the cedar chest. This Roos Sweetheart Chest was built in 1947 and sold at a cost of $250! The cedar chest as a whole is in good condition. The inside of the chest has a top tray lined in felt and the interior is lined with aromatic red cedar. The outside is constructed of hardwood veneersand does have its share of nicks and scratches being consistent with its age of over 65 years especially around the bottom side corners. Vintage Cavalier Cedar Chest - Walnut with Burled Inlay
Cavalier cedar chest. Cavalier cedar chests were built in Chattanooga. Tennessee from Tennessee red cedar by the Tennessee Furniture Company beginning in 1923. The Cavalier brand is considered the cadillac of cedar chests due to their superior craftsmanship. This is in excellent condition with no veneer loss. The wood is a walnut veneer and has a burled walnut inlay on front. There is a lock on this but I do not have a key. The cedar inside is like new and still has the cedar smell. The tray inside is in nice condition with purple felt(felt probably needs to be cleaned) This is 4' long and 19" tall. I'm not sure of the age- the company closed over 50 years ago. Since this is so large, I will only offer local pickup in Alexandria, Indiana.

Smaller Pre WW11 Trunk With Shelf Intact And Key Rare & Hard To Find
Very very few of these survived with the top shelf intact. This is the only one I have ever seen with the key. To have both of these at once is just an incredible find.This trunk is 21 inches high by 16 inches wide by 29 inches long. The interior shelf is not shown. For some reason the picture of it did not come out, it is the normal standard shelf you see every once in a while in a steamer trunk. It is gorgeous the way it is but could easily be restored with a little varnish and paint since it is all intact. This is a trunk that has been in my family for over 100 years. My grandfather left home with everything he owned in this trunk. I don't think any of us could do that nowadays. This is all original and needs extensive work. The 2 compartments inside come out so you can layer storage inside. It has the original wallpaper inside! The straps on the side s are off and the lock doesn't lock. I know there are companies that offer parts and places that restore but I really do not want to invest the time or money into it. I have enjoyed for many years using it for extra storage but the time has come for me to start sorting and getting rid of a few things. It has been restored and is in excellent condition as you can see from the many photos. Not one but two keys are included with this piece. The drawers on this piece glide very easily. Much of this piece has a very desirable'crackle' or crazed finish that can only be obtained from age. The photos did not show this. Authentic Mission Style chest of drawers. This quarter sawn oak chest dates from the early 1900's. Of high quality Arts and Craftsmanship. The chest has 5 dovetailed drawers and visible keyed tenons at the lower joints. Hand hammered metal escutcheons and drawer pulls decorate the front of the piece. Chamfered drawers. And finish. May be Stickley, cannot identify with 100% certainty. Overall. This chest is in very good condition. There is some separation of the joints near the top and side. Also a few of the dovetail joints inside the drawers have been repaired. Example pictured. Very little wear. The chest stands 48" tall and is 33" wide and 19" deep.
