Vintage Carnival Game Concession Sign Letter 5*s Painted Wood (read desc)
These stars are about 5 1/2 inches across. I have tried to find out how they were used but have not been successful. Each has a steel wire attached to it. I have about 120 of them and selling them in lots of 5. This fair/carnival outfit ran an average of 6 concessions at each event. Usually working 4-5 events at the same time across NC, SC,GA andFL. Their home base was near Fayetteville NC. The operation started in the late 50's and ran until the late 70's when they sold out. Many of the letters and signs are beyond use. However, the letters and signs you see listed have been cleaned with an organic mixture that removes any dirt, mildew or mold. Most were stored in a metal trailer and if you have ever been to NC in the summer you know the intense heat and humidity they have been xposed to inside the trailer. Thus, the poor condition ... moreof the paint. Only the letter is included in this auction. Not the old ride. Just wanted to give you an idea where they came from. The letters are 12 inches high and 8 inches wide and about 1/2 inch thick wood. They each have a metal eyelet that was used to hang the letters on a board. Doing it this way they could change the sign without making a new one. The carnival was operated thoughout the southeast and midsouth from the late 50's through the 60's. The letters were in barrels and boxes and as you can see have suffered some abuse. Some are white. Some are blue, some are red, but all are scraped up and look like they have been painted several times over the years. I will combine shipping as much as possible and will be listing several over the next few days.

This large Antique Bronze House Name Plate Sign measures approximately 16x7 inches and weighs approximately 1.120 kg. It requires a good polish in order to really optimise its appearance. And has 4 holes in order to mount. I would date the Sign to around 1890 or thereabouts. It is slightly mis-shapen. But I think that once it is mounted this should not be a problem. A super finishing touch to any home.

I got this many years ago in NYC from a loft above a theatre on 14th St. You could actually go out a set of glass doors. Stand on the actual marquee above 14th st, and change attractions on the sign from above. The symbol is 10" tall, made by the"ADLER SILHOUETTE LETTER COMPANY" and has 4 tabs on the back to lock into angle-iron"tracks" in the face of the lighted sign. These were phased out either when colorful plastic letters were invented or a passersby was killed after on of these aluminum letters blew off in a wind storm. Huge lot of cool vintage aluminum letters. These range in size from 4.5 to 12 inches. Some have what appears to be a reflective sticker that has been applied to the surface but can be removed. These look great just sitting in my grass for the picture but would probably be better on your wall or any number of different ways. They have a place on the back as can be seen in one of the pictures where a threaded bolt would have went into to mount but most bolts are broken off flush and may be difficult to extract. I'm sure you could figure out several other ways to mount them if need be.

Approx size 16" x 12" White with black enamel lettering the letters run approx 3" x 1 1/2" There is some enamel loss and a little rust to the sides and tips of the sign which gives you a peek into its age and long life! The sign is made of one solid piece of wood, which I believe to be mahogany, that is warm and rich and has the letters of the word/name"Tetela" deeply carved into the wood and painted white which makes it stand out dramatically. This is a vintage/antique Black Onyx Glass#816 House Number Tile. It`s in good condition with no chips or cracks. The numbers are etched into the glass about 1/16th of an inch. The glass measures 8" x 7 7/8" and is 5/16" thick.

HEAVY VINTAGE SHAPED BRASS SIGN - MARIE 5.4 inch
This is a nice old heavy shaped brass sign with the word MARIE in raised letters.It measures 5.4 inches across and is 1.75 inches top to bottom in the centre.It is in pretty reasonable condition with wear commensurate with age and use.It probably dates to about 1920-1930. HUGE Vintage Industrial Metal Chinese Letters or Word
Vintage backlit store front letter from a store outside San Francisco. California. This letter is made from metal and shows it's age in rust. This Chinese word includes the plastic that fits over the top. There are no holes in the symbol. It can be screwed into a wall because it has screw holes. Makes a great statement on a wall either inside a house or on the outside of a house, barn, you name it. This metal word weighs about 13 pounds the plastic adds another 3 lbs.
