Vintage Ornate Roman Catholic Fiddleback Chasuble Priest Vestment Made in Paris. The chasuble is embroidered in multicolored thread on a beautiful emerald green background. The robe measures in the back from the neck 39 3/8” and from the shoulder 43 5/8” long. It is 26” wide. The cross on the back is 39" x 22" x 8" It is composed of sheaves of wheat. Grape clusters, grape leaves and swirls and banded in a 1” wide ribbon. The front of the vestment from the neck measures 28” and from the shoulder 32 ¼” long. It is 23” wide tapering down to 14” wide. The front has the same embroidered designs as the back. The outside of the chasuble is a patterned emerald green, probably cotton, and the inside is a plain lighter green cotton. It is in very good condition. The Chasuble is made of what appears to be crinkly satin/rayon panels with black velvet insets. Trimmed in beige and black borders. The front is approximately 35 inches in length and the back panel which is longer is approximately 43 inches measured from the top of the shoulder. The back center panel is of black rich velvet with the most exquisite metallic dove(representing the Holy Spirit) in a 3-D effect at the top center. It appears to be beautiful hand work. The dove image with total rays is approximately 9 ½ in diameter. In overall excellent condition considering the age. No tears or stains. What might appear to be discoloration on the left edge is only a shadow. Item would benefit from a professional dry cleaning. The Stole. Antique Gold Roman Chasuble Fiddleback Vestment for Catholic Priest, Clergy
Gold Colored Roman Chasuble/Fiddleback Vestment for Low Mass This beautiful Chasuble is in very good antique condition. It has been recently refurbished and can once again be employed for Divine Worship. This particular vestment was originally made in France and is very substantial and heavy. Although I am not certain of the material. It reminds me of cloth of gold and feels almost metallic. The Chasuble. Maniple, and stole have been completely relined with red satin fabric. There are no rips or tears in the shell of the chasuble although there is some faint spots of mild discoloration. The chalice veil and burse were constructed from a dalmatic that was beyond repair, which is why there is a unique pattern formed with the galloons. I should note that the burse cannot be opened. All pains have been taken to salvage the beautiful lamb on the ... moreback of the vestment. Some of the metal parts of the lamb's legs were lost to time and have been replaced with thread. New longer strings were added to the inside front of the chasuble that help to secure the vestment to the waist of the priest. This set includes: Chasuble. Stole, Maniple, Burse, Chalice Veil. The dimensions of the chasuble is approximately: Back: 39" from shoulder to hem; 25" across. Front: 34.5" from shoulder to hem; 22" across at widest point. Please note this is an antique vestment that I believe is close to 100 years old. There will be signs of aging; yet despite its age. It has held up quite nicely. If you should have any questions. Beautiful Antique Green Chasuble and Stole for Mass This is an antique green chasuble and stole set for the celebration of the Mass. It is in good condition with very little wear. The material is of a kelly green that is much more Roman than the darker forest green color that is often produced today. The back is embroidered with a cross that is composed of flowers with the iconic IHS in the center. The front is a simple pillar composed in the same theme as the back. There are two strings that are used to secure the vestment around the waist of the priest. The matching stole is in very good condition and its adorned with metallic fringe on the bottom. It has a sewn cloth around the neck to absorb any sweat that may damage the material. The only sign of age and wear is found on the front between the embroidered part of the vestment. Estate Catholic Priest Stole- Lavender and White- Fine Embroidered Gold Crosses
I purchased this at the estate sale of an elderly priest. He had been in Rome for a few years and I purchased a few items he had from there including a couple of beautiful rosaries. This stole is a light ivory white on one side and a beautiful lavender purple on the other. It looks more blue in my photos and I don't know why: It is purple. Not blue. The crosses are stitched on with great care- on both sides(the purple and the ivory side) with golden thread which matches the gold trim. The entire stole is about 72 inches in length. This Priest's Stole is off white. More of an ivory color. It is 50" long per side. For a total length of 100" The Stole is narrow at the neck. Widening to a 3 1/2" width at the bottom. It has a gold embroidered cross at the top. And an embroidered cross at the bottom on each side. I had to look hard. But I did find a couple of very small spots on this Stole.
