It dates from the 1890s to 1900s. It has a couple of rub marks on the tabletop from dragging something on the table top. It is noticeable, but not severe. It is a solid oak 54 inches quarter sawn top. The table is 30 inches high and when all four leaves are inserted the table becomes 8 feet long. It is a good-looking table with a large reeded center column and a platform base that goes down into the biggest ball and claw feet I have seen in a long time. The table is in a medium oak stain. It has a bulbous turn center post that opens to reveal a center leg to support the table when fully extended. The legs terminate in a stout and sturdy ball and claw base. This listing is for a Antique Quarter-sawn Tiger Oak Victorian Glass Ball Claw Footed 2-Tier Parlor Table. This piece stands 30 inches tall~ approx 2 1/2 feet. 22 3/4 inches across the top/ square. The bottom shelf. At the narrowest point, measures 15 inches across square. The glass balls in the feet measure 3 inches across and the legs. At the widest point, about half way up, measures 3 1/4 inches across. This table is not marked. Signed, dated, stamped or otherwise labeled. There is a small dark stain to the table top that measures approx 4inches by 2 inches. A darker spot next to that as well but not sure what that spot is. Both can be seen in the last picture. There are no major chips. Cracks or other issues to any part of the wood. It is possible this is a Louis F Nonnast table made between 1878-1888. This is a beautiful Victorian age solid mahogany split pedestal base ball and claw banquet table that comes with three 11-inch-wide table ... moreleaves dating from the 1900’s. The table looks like it has been refinished by the previous owner within the last 10 to 15 years. But it does show normal wear and tear and some nicks and dings. It comes with a skirted single leaf and two unskirted leaves, all 11 inches wide. The table has been finished in a dark reddish-brown rich luxurious mahogany stain with a satin sheen lacquer, and it’s a pretty nice quality job, as the pictures will show. The only flaw I can see is that where the table closes, the table leaf doesn’t close up completely on the seam. This happens quite a bit on split pedestal tables, and it just needs a latch put underneath to tighten it when the table is closed. The overall size is 54 inches wide when closed, and 29.5 inches tall. When the three table leaves are inserted, it is 87 inches long. This gorgeous table has a lovely ogee beveled edge around it on the top, with a three-inch mahogany skirt, and it sits upon a split pedestal bulbous turned center column, with four finely detailed ball and claw talon feet. Antique 1910-20 spiral legged glass ball claw foot table C. 1910-20 ???
This table is very restorable. I put some clamps on the pieces that needed to be drawn together and it will all come back to match up. I've never seen"spiral" legs on an antique before. All surfaces have a lot(many coats) of varnish/stain and will take several coats of remover to get it all off. As a cabinet maker. I tried to determine what species of wood we're looking at here but could not make a determination. The glass balls have a small flat spot on the bottom from being moved around on the floor. All the claw feet are in tact but have stain on them which will all come off. I hesitated listing this on eBay because of the shipping so I did some estimating and figured I would build a small crate that would transport it without damage. I'll either freight it or UPS it. No way to weigh it and I think it goes about 50 ... moreto 60 lbs. crated. The price in the listing is shipping included. I moved the handling time to 3 days because of cratingand carry to UPS store. Here we have a gorgeous carved mahogany tilt top table with a pie crust edge and tri-pod ball in claw feet. Table top has a burl wood veneer that is a little worn and has a blemish. See photos. Appears to be the original finish. I am far from being and expert in this area so any information is appreciated. Table is approximately 29 1/2" tall and 29 1/2" across. Antique Table with Expanding Top and Ball and Claw Feet
This is a Beautiful Antique Table with Ball and Claw Feet. Expanding top. The table has nice detailing along the upper leg at the table top and two metal handles on the front. The underside of the table has a metal hook and handle that pull down to expand the width. There are wooden gliders with dowels that connect to the gliders. There are repairs to the underside and places where the legs have been glued. Nicks. Tings, and scratches on the body. But the table still shows beautifully with a lamp and or crystal on it. I haven't used the table expanded. I can't seem to get it adjusted correctly without causing the legs to loosen. I'm sure the right owner can get everything in order and tightened to work correctly. The measurements are: 40" across the top side to side. 22 1/2" outer edges of legs front to back, 31 1/3" ... moreclosed top to bottom of feet, 20" front to back on top. Mahogany Wood Claw and Ball Carved Knee Tea or Serving Table Ireland ?
We purchased this piece over 20 years ago at an estate sale. Used it for about 15 years and stored for the last seven years. I can't find any information on this particular piece anywhere. The closest I got was a piece made in Ireland with the same triple balister. Carved knees and claw and ball feet. I consider this a Tea or Serving Table because of the four carved carrying slots. See Pics) Mahogany Wood. Stands 28 1/4 inches tall. Top measures 26" by 20" Each leg spans approx. 12 3/4 inches. The triple Balister is approx. 7 inches around above the carving. Flat head screws. Reinforces legs with an inserted piece of wood at the bend. Very well made. Local pick up or possible deliver within a reasonable distance.
