Magnificent Antique Bloodstone Rosary Huge Gemstone Beads& Hallmarked Silver 19th Century ~ from France 82 Grams! This fabulous 19th century rosary has gorgeous beads of genuine bloodstone. A deep green gemstone speckled with vibrant red spots. It's complete and original, with 59 huge(8-15 mm) hand-cut and polished round beads. It's very rare to find these rosaries in the larger sizes, much less with a matching bloodstone crucifix. ● Fine French rosary made circa 1850-1880 ● Has rare matching crucifix carved from bloodstone. With silver corpus, backing plate& INRI scroll ● All the pater beads have fancy openwork silver caps(all matching. French Rosary Cocoa Beads/Ceramic Paters 1950 HolyYear Medal With HandmadePouch
This is an interesting and well made vintage rosary made in France. With the Ave beads(Hail Marys) of super durable medium brown cocoa, as is indicated by the little aluminum medal attached near the front which reads: NIL COCO FRANCE/ EACH BEAD DOUBLE WIRED. The Paters(Our Fathers) are made of contrasting off white resin or ceramic and decorated with patinized concentric rings. This was probably a pilgrim's rosary sometime in its history because there is a 1950 Holy Year medal with a profile of Pope Pius XII on the front and with an image of St Peter Apostle holding the Keys of the Kingdom on the reverse. The crucifix is original to the beads and is in matched brown hardwood clinched in metal with separately applied corpus figure and INRI Title, marked FRANCE on its reverse. The center medal shows a profile of the Madonna in fine detail ... morecasting with the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the reverse. The rosary extends to 22 3/8" and fits snugly in the handmade brown felt pouch with red decoration which came with the beads- an unusual and collectible rosary ensemble. Child's 5-decade French rosary chaplet orange beads Sacred Heart of Jesus Paray
A pretty little 5-decade French rosary for a child. With tiny orange opaque glass or stone beads, silvered“Paray” joiner and silver tone crucifix. This little rosary has a silvered or possibly silver joiner/connecter with Paray on one side(for Paray Le Monial) and St Margaret Mary Alacoque and the vision of the Sacred Heart on the other. Around the portrait of the saint are the words“Voici ce Coeur qui a tant aime les Hommes” Here is the heart which so loved man) There is a lozenge with maker’s mark on the bail of this little medal. And what is possibly a poincon(silver mark) on the bottom, but this is too small to make out. The crucifix. Which is in silver tone metal, is marked“Souvenir de Paray” on the back. The rosary is in good condition apart from one of the tiny rings holding the beads to the joiner which is missing. So it requires ... moreone to fix the string to the connector. A jeweller or someone with jewellery findings would be able to mend this. The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is particularly popular in the Burgundy region of France. Where this rosary was found. The Sacred Heart first appeared to St Margaret Mary Alacoque at Paray Le Monial in 17 th century. And although the Catholic church was initially opposed to worship of the Sacred Heart, Pope Pius IX finally proclaimed the Feast of the Sacred Heart in 1856. St Margaret Mary was canonised in 1920, so the rosary is probably from around this time. Length approx 29.5 cm(11.5 ins) From end of the cross to the top of the doubled beads, this was probably made for a child.

French antique rosary circa 1870-1880. From estate if a French Archbishop. I will provide the archbishops name to the new owner. This rosary is just beautiful! The beads are not too small for older fingers. just the perfect size. The beads measure 8 mm and made from beautiful authentic mother of pearl. The beads are oblong in shape, and literally glide through your fingers. 18 inches long. Chain and all metal parts are sterling silver. I have been told that the shell this mother of pearl beads comes from is no longer harvested because it is an endangered species. Rosary measures 16" long cross is 7/8" long. Nice semi precious faceted purple bead. Reliquary sterling silver made cross. Open and close perfectly. the reliquary is empty VERY COLLECTABLE. Elegant VINTAGE FRENCH RUBY RED CUT CRYSTAL Rosary on STERLING SILVER with TAG From the 1940-50's. This French 23" rosary is made of small barrel shape ruby red cut crystal beads mounted on sterling. All beads are interlocked and groups of beads divided by fancy extenders. Classic crucifix is marked sterling. Center medal pictures the Sacred Heart and on reverse the Blessed Mother& Child. Attached to this rosary is a small tag on which is engraved Cut Crystal. This nice old rosary weighs approx. 47.6 grams and, except for very light wear to beads consistent with age, in very good used condition. I make every effort to describe my items accurately. French Art Nouveau rosary/chapelet with turquoise glass beads. Circa 1910. The chapelet is decorated with a medallion with the entwined initials AM for Ave Maria, and the reverse with an image of the Virgin and Child and two kneeling figures, see photos. The chapelet is 15 inches(38cm) approx. long and the pendant portion is 3 1/2 inches(9cm) approx. long. All beads are present and are in good condition. There is slight wear to metal compatible with age, see photos. Tracked. Insured and signed-for delivery is £7 worldwide.
