The Ewer is a fine and guaranteed Authentic Song Dynasty period example. The Ewer has a beautiful light period Qingbai glaze throughout. The Ewer has a nice period lobed form. Along with nice carved designs. The Ewer also has its original lid, which is usually commonly missing. The lid has a crack as you can see, but the ewer is in exceptional original condition for its age with absolutely no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Ewer has also been closely examined under UV light, which shows no signs of restoration or damage of any kind. The Ewer is a nice size for displaying measuring 9 7/8 inches tall, by 5 1/2 inches wide. As you can see I have added a photo of a very similar example that very recently sold at Sotheby’ s. And I believe there has been other similar examples even sell for more than this amount. Royal Rudolstadt Porcelain Ewer Thuringia Blue Mark Ca. 1895-189911" T
Here is a gorgeous antique ewer made in Thuringia. Germany by Royal Rudolstadt. It bears the Blue RW mark used from 1895-1899. This ewer stands 11" tall with a base diameter of 4" The diameter of the bulge is approximately 6" This lovely, matt finished cream colored, ewer has blue flowers and dark pink leaves on the front and back. On the neck of the ewer there are dots of blue and two embossed gold bands. The applied ornate handle is also gold. as is the edge of the foot rim. On the bulge of this piece there are several swipes of gold over what looks like pin pricks. This gold is exactly the same as the gold on the rest of the trim so I assume this was done at the factory. Except for a tiny bit of loss to the gold on the handle, I see no damage or flaws to this lovely piece. Offered for sale is a small white pitcher by Henry Alcock& Co. I beleive it's called a milk pitcher. It is simply elegant and would look beautiful with a bouquet of flowers. It measures about 7” inches tall and about 6 1/4” across from spout to handle. The maker's mark on the bottom reads: Parisian Porcelain Henry Alcock& Co. England. This dates the piece between 1861 and 1910. The piece shows normal wear for one its age. There is a tiny chip(~1/8" on the spout and some tiny glaze pops. Please view all of the photos. They look like"foreget me nots" Handles and lip have gold decoration also. Other than that one chip it is not crazed or cracked. Non-smoking home. Thanks for looking.
