Circa 1880-1910. This wonderful piece would be a great addition to your antique Silver or bottle collection or a very special gift! This is an exquisite example of a Sterling silver overlay bottle complete with it's original lid& glass stopper! Not only is it"colored" glass which is more desirable than clear. But it is a thicker overlay sought after by collectors, unlike later cheaper pieces of silver overlay. The bottle is a dark green glass with a thick Sterling silver overlay of beautiful. Swirling Art Nouveau curves. The bottle is hallmarked on the overlay"STERLING" on the bottom edge. The original Sterling silver cap/lid is engraved on the top with ornate script initials and the inside appears to be gold plated/flashed. The cap is threaded inside and screws on& off of the threaded top of the glass bottle. The cap is also hallmarked"STERLING" on the bottom side. Under this cap is the original glass stopper. The tab handle to the stopper was applied to the round base. There is a line where the tab was attached(this is not a crack) These bottles are very rare due to their fragility. Most pieces found have cracks hidden by the silver overlay. This piece does not. The bottle measures approx. 2 5/8" tall from the base to the top of the Sterling silver lid. The bottle measures approx. 1 1/2" diameter. This item is an estate piece and in excellent condition for it's age. The Sterling lid has some shallow dents consistent with it's age& the softness of Sterling. The silver overlay is in excellent condition. There are no pieces missing, only a few small dings. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 81 millimeters(3 1/4 inches) Bowl Diameter: 17 millimeters(2/3 inch) Top Lip Diameter: 24 millimeters(1 inch) Base Diameter: 12 millimeters(1/2 inch) Weight: 5.70 grams. CONDITION: Very good though bears evidence of a very neat. Professional repair. Minor scratches and scuffs consistent with use and then burial in soil. DETAIL: This is a very handsome. Complete second century A.D. Roman glass perfume bottle(or“unguentarium” which possesses a light iridescent burial patina with purple, pink, blue and green highlights. Most Roman glass vessels recovered complete(intact or repairable) are between 1½ and 3 inches in size– this one obviously exceeds the high end of this scale. However though complete, in a sense it is not intact. The glass perfume bottle was broken, whether in ancient times or perhaps when it was excavated, as there is a fairly clean break toward the bottom. The repair however seems to have been made with bitumen(tar) which would indicate that the repair was ancient. Some of the bitumen has been lost, so there is a small hole in the side of the bottle. But it appears to have been repaired and reused in ancient Rome– a rather uncommon find. Small jars. Pitchers, unguentariums, jugs, bottles, jars and flasks like this were used to contain aromatic oils, perfumes, medicinal ointments, and cosmetics. It is not to say that the Romans did not use larger pieces of glass on their tables such as bowls and cups; and even larger containers for transporting foodstuffs; because they did. In fact whatever the Romans had produced in clay in the first and second centuries B.C. was by the first and second centuries A.D. more common

Here is a fantastic green glass perfume with silver overlay; it is antique. But has never yet been monogrammed; it is very pretty and free of any damage. It is one of three great little antique glass treasures listed. It has original stopper, which is also in fine condition. Total height is about 4" tall. Base is about 1' and widest belly about 2 1/2" Fabulous patina on silver, over top of the perfect shade of green; this bottle looks amazing in cabinet or on dresser for Valentines day. This auction is for an Antique Victorian Perfume Bottle. This piece is Forest Green Glass and has a glass stopper that is shaped like a crown. The bottle is a forest green glass and fits nicely into a small purse that fits the perfume bottle perfectly. It is a pale brown leather and shows normal signs of wear. The bottle is mint the stopper has a couple of tiny chips on the base of the stopper. The top of the stopper has no damage. It is a very small purse size piece. It is trimmed out in gold and the clasp on the purse latches properly. The leather of the purse is soft and supple. It is 4" long. The bottle is 3" tall. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a GREEN GLASS Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver Overlay and Matching Stopper. The sterling overlay is in a nice Art Nouveau design. No missing sterling overlay to the glass bottle but there is a tiny split in the overlay on the stopper which may represent a small piece missing. It's hard to tell and I never even noticed it until I inspected it closely for selling. There are a couple very small cracks in the neck and one thin hairline in the glass bottle towards the bottom half. Again. Due to the silver overlay it is very hard to see but I did try to photgraph it for you. The bottle does hold water so the hairline is obviously not entirely through the glass and just on the inside as it is smooth on the outside. The sterling overlay is of good ... morethickness and quality. It is also very secure and tight to the bottle. It does have a blank cartouche for engraving- there is no monogram. The stopper is in excellent condition with only a little roughness on the end but no chips or cracks. Up for auction is this mini free crystal perfume bottle. It looks like it might have been silver plated because the rim inside is silver. It needs to be cleaned. I will leave that up to the new owner. It has a green jewel at the top, it does NOT have a stopper. There is a ball of cotton in the top, you can see it in picture#10. The hinge is working well and the top fits securely. Measures approximately 2 3/8s" high(this includes the green jewel) and is approximately 13/16th of an inch in diameter. Up for auction is an antique green glass perfume bottle with sterling silver overlay designs. There is no monogram. The stopper is approx. 1.5 inches long. The bottle stands approx. 2.5 inches without the stopper and 3.5 inches with it. On the back of the neck below the rim it is stamped Sterling. I can not find any other marks. There is one very tiny either flaw or chip on the bottom, I really can't tell if it is a flaw in the glass or tiny chip as it is very hard to notice. It is about the size of tiny grain of pepper. This is a beautiful antique perfume bottle from the 1800's. It is gorgeous Bristol green blown glass made in England. This piece has a smooth pontil and ground stopper. The bottom of the bottle is marked 35 on the pontil; the matching stopper is unmarked. But original to the piece. This lovely perfume is in excellent antique condition and free from chips and cracks. The bottom has the normal wear patterns from years on a dresser. It stands 6.5" high and is 4" wide. The blown hollow stopper has a total length of 2.25" This piece has great design and proportion, and is a real treasure to own if you collect fine glass. Miniature Antique Czech Glass Green Perfume Bottle w/Ormulu Basket-Glass Dauber
This is a darling little miniature perfume bottle that is green glass. There are not any markings. But it appears to be Czech glass that has a quilted, marbelized look. It has a basket of flowers that are old brass or bronze with rhinestones set in it. It does have the glass dauber. The brass lid has a hammered Rose with a rhinestone in the top and little Roses all around it. This is in excellent condition- no loose dauber, no chips or cracks. The is definitely early 1900's. Antique green glass and sterling silver over lay scent bottle. Condition: there is a dent on the top of the marked sterling silver lid. I can't remove the inner glass stopper and there is perfume or salts residue on the inside of the bottle. There are nicks on the glass stopper and on the edge of the top of the bottle. You may be able to get the stopper out. I have soaked it in hot water with no results. The lid screws on and off nicely with no problems. It is a heavy little thing, super shiny and displays VERY nicely. Please view all photo's and enlarge them. This piece measures 2-3/16" tall with lid in place and is 1-1/16" in diameter. VTG DeVilbiss Green Glass Coin Spot Opalescent Perfume Bottle Marked Made USA
Here I have a Beautiful vintage green glass perfume bottle with opalescent dots. Coin Spot pattern. Missing the atomizer, most got hardened and were thrown out. Marked on the bottom: Made De Vilbiss USA in a silver tone ink. The glass is a soft. See through green glass, the"dots" are opalescent. When a black light is turned on the glass looks almost clear and the"dots" are yellow, this shows there is Uranium in the glass. See the photos. DeVilbiss had many companies that made his perfume bottles. Including Steuben, Imperial, Cambridge, Tiffin, Fry, Libbey and Vineland Glass Works. His network also circled the globe. The perfumes were categorized with a simple letter system, Series A, these were the less expensive ones that had a paper tag. This is why you will find DeVilbiss bottles with no name. The B Series were of higher ... morequality and were marked with gilt or silver lettering on the base, like this perfume bottle. I believe this to be a Fenton Coin Dot but have not found THIS bottle in any of my 4 Fenton books. 3 1/4" tall. 3 1/4" across the widest spot, has its brass fitting but no atomizer. Gorgeous Steuben Glass& Alvin 999 Silver Overlay Deep Green Perfume Bottle 1900 This gorgeous glass and silver perfume bottle stands 2 1/8" tall and is 3" in diameter at its widest point. It features a deep green Steuben glass bottle with ornate art nouveau style 999 grade silver overlay by Alvin silversmiths. The silver has carnation flowers and buds with flowing leaves. Both the base rim and neck rim are sterling covered. The bottle has a round monogram area but it has never been engraved. The glass is etched"59" on the base and the silver is marked"G 8460 Patented 999/1000 Fine" and it has the Alvin hallmark. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks in the glass. No loss of overlay and no deep scratches or breaks in the overlay. The front label is especially pretty, with its colorful paper lavender flowers. The bottle is empty, but bottle and metal cap both still have a very definite and noticeable lavender scent when opened. I recall as a young child smelling this bottle when it was partly full, and the scent was even stronger than. They certainly knew how to make good cologne back in the day! Approximate measurements of bottle: 5" high x 4" wide x a little over 1" thick(measuring at the side) Perfume bottle in good basic condition. But being old and previously owned, is not perfect. There is soiling with surface scratches/ scuffs and dirt marks or old perfume stains to bottle and labels, and there is whitish old perfume residue and/or stains to bottle here and there. Bottle would benefit from a gentle cleaning, as except for being emptied, it has never been cleaned. No chips or cracks that I can see, but there are noticeable factory seam lines. The stopper has a lovely intaglio courting couple. they appear to be sitting in a field of grass& flowers. The perfume bottle measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall(to the top of the stopper) 3 inches by 2 1/8 inches wide. I was unable to get the signature on the bottom to photograph. The BOTTLE is in good condition; no cracks or repairs. But I have examined via loupe& it does have a chip& fleabites. The base of the bottle has about eight fleabites, there are about five other fleabites on the body of the bottle, a small chip to the top of the bottle side, below the bottle neck. This is a pretty vintage German lay down perfume scent bottle made of mercury glass in white with blue. Orange, green swirls. There is gold glitter in some of the swirls. Circa 1930's. The metal crown cover is attached to a piece of cork and it unscrews. The cover has some tarnish that is expected from aging. 2 1/4" tall and just under 1 1/2" wide. This Mary Gregory perfume bottle measures 4 3/4" tall by 3" wide. The mold blown green glass bottle measures 2 7/8" tall by 3" wide. The bottle is a fresh estate find that is in good condition. Although dirty, and does not have any chips, cracks, or damage. The atomizer, however, is damaged. It is missing the bulb. It is also dented and misshapen where the bulb fits into the metal top. The white enameling is hand painted. And features a young Victorian boy walking in the landscape, carrying a flower.
