Yes. This is a true beauty. My elderly father retired from his antiques business bringing with him many wonderful treasure that we have all wanted to keep and just don't have the room to put them in. What a pity because they are all so beautiful. This mirror is one of his favorites also. It is a Regency Gilded Convex Eagle mirror from the late 1700's to early 1800's. The dimensions of the mirror are as follows: the diameter of the mirror alone is 15 1/2" The diameter of the mirror from left to right and from outer leaf to outer leaf of the frame is 25" and the height of the mirror from eagle head tip to bottom of leaf tip is 32" This mirror would make a lovely addition to any living room or foyer. What a site to behold.

There are some hair line cracks around the plaster part of the frame though they do not go all the way through(see photos) The cracks add beautifully to the character of this piece. ANTIQUE VINTAGE FEDERAL BULLS EYE EAGLE CONVEX MIRROR - ORNATE & LARGE WWII ERA
Nice Federal Style Eagle Topped Convex Mirror with 13 Balls representing the original 13 Colonies Made during WWII Era This is a great piece of history. I thought about restoring it and I still might if it does not sell in the next month or so. I just have too many other projects going right now. Back of the glass is dated 1941 as seen in the pictures. Mirro r measures approx. 29" Tall and 22" Wide Antique Convex Glass is in nice shape. I checked it over and did not find any cracks or chips in it. As you can see. The mirrored silvering is starting to wear. I think it adds character and helps show the mirror's age, but you could have it re-silvered to like new condition if that is what you are looking for. The exterior wood rim is in really good shape. There are some small signs of age and use and I imagine transport wear. The ... moreEagle up top is in really nice shape with 1 small spot of plaster that has chippe d. Hard to notice. The wreath at the bottom of the mirror has 1 small chip of plaster as seen in the pictures. There is paint wear on the 13 balls surrounding the mirror. I think that this mirror is unique in that it is not the bright gold finish. It is more of a"copper" or"dull gold" finish. One could refinish it into the bright gold that you see if that is to your liking. It is the"plasterized frame" which means that a small coat of plaster was spread over the wood frame prior to painting Other than that. Please take a good look at the pictures and determine if this mirror is right for you. I have seen these mirrors sell for $250 up to $1.500. Just depends on finding the right buyer at the right time. My starting price leaves you plenty of room to make money if you are thinking about restoring it and also serves as a solid investment if not. Original condition with some gilt missing from the corvetto balls that dot the surround. Features an ebonized reeded slip at the rim of the convex mirror. There is a little black paint missing there also. The mirror has a couple of age spots but no major damage or fogging. The original metal link chain graces the reverse. Description: Up for Sale is a beautiful Federal style Colonial Eagle convex“bullseye” or girandole mirror with 13 cannonballs surrounding the mirror for the 13 original American Colonies. The frame is made of wood and sculptured gesso with a gold finish. From the construction I would guess it is from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. It measures approximately 36" tall x 22 1/2" across with the mirror being approximately 18" across This item is pre-owned with normal wear you would expect on a piece of this age. It looks like a portion of the laurel wreath/vine on one side of the eagle has been repaired and the same goes for one part of the flourish below the mirror. Very Large 32 1/2" Federalist Eagle Gold Convex Wall Mirror, Wood Frame Very Old
This mirror is in excellent condition. The glass is as close to mint as you can get. No fog, no scratches, no spots, no loss of reflective material. You can see where the mirror has been cleaned over the years. The frame is a wood frame mirror: 32.5" in height, 23 3/8" wide, and the convex mirror is 17 inches. The frame has just a tiny bit of age checking that you have to almost have your nose to the glass to see. There are some slight discoloration with the gold that would be typical of age. I have tried to show that in the photos. There is no loss of gold paint. But it looks to have had some retouches done over the years. I have no idea as to its age, but it looks to be old. The frame is definately a wood frame both the top and bottom are definately wood; the mirror frame is wood as well. I can see where the maker bisected the ... morewood frame with wood joinery.

this is a stunning vintage hand carved wooden convex wall mirror. it is a very large mirror and has a wonderful gold gilt finish. the mirror is circular and has a convex domed shape. the top is a large very ornate eagle with wings spread. He stands on the mirror with a long olive leaf in hand. the mirror has many dimensional spheres running around the whole border of the frame. the bottom also has very dimensional ornate detailing with a stylized floral design. the frame measures 30 3/4 by 22 1/2 inches. already has a hanging wire on the back ready for mounting. it is in great shape and no pieces missing. the actual convex mirror is fading a bit but still does work as a mirror. Antique Federal Style Gilded Carved Eagle Convex Mirror The frame is 35" x 26" x 3" And the mirror is 18" During the"Federal Period" of the United States. Citizens were patriotic and showed it. The Eagle frame with a convex mirror was extremely popular. Historically, these mirrors have 13 cannon balls to represent the original 13 colonies. The eagle grasps tobacco leaves in its talons, signifying the most valuable trade amenity. Why a convex or(what is often called) a bulls-eye mirror? These mirrors were often hung in the dining room. The shape of the mirror allows homeowners and staff an overall view and a great way to see if anyone is stealing the silverware. Over the years. Vintage Federal Convex Eagle Mirror Bulls Eye Gesso on Wood
Vintage Federal Eagle Convex Wood Mirror We are very excited to offer for auction a vintage Federal Convex Mirror. This bulls eye mirror is constructed of wood and measures 25" tall(from the top of the eagles wing to the bottom of knot of the frame) and 17 5/8" at widest point in diameter. The mirror itself is approximately 13" in diameter. The mirror has darkened to an antiqued silvery tone and may even be mercury glass as there is a gray coating visible on the edges of the back side. Due to age there is not a super bright or high reflection off this mirror. The eagle and laurel details are beautifully carved with very nice detail. There is evidence of age but it has a great look and really adds characater to a room. Condition: There are some condition issues and I have taken that into account with my starting price. There ... moreare a some cracks in the gesso and some surface paint loss on the top of the balls as well as the tip of the right wing of the eagle. There are two cracks on the wood backing of the laurel but it does not move and is very stable. It does look like some of the laurel have been re-attached(glued) on the left top side but there are no missing pieces. There is also a repainted area on the right upper portion of the circular frame(I assume to cover some dings) as well a small amount on the laurel that touches that edge. Antique hand carved Federal Eagle Convex round mirror in hand carved gilded wood. The mirror looks very old and we believe it to date from the late 1800's. We took lots of pictures so that the people interested can appreciate the way it is made and be able to estimate its age. The frame is all hand carved wood with a gold gilt surface. The convex glass is in excellent condition with very mild interior discoloration from age that hardly shows. The overall measurements are 32" high X 22" wide. The mirror only is 17 1/2" in diameter. As one can see clearly from all our pictures. The condition in general is very good, except for a small part of the eagle's head missing. Unfortunately this is how the mirror was found. ANTIQUE REGENCY CONVEX EAGLE MIRROR from the Cawood Homestead. Gllded Wood& Gesso. Late 1800's- early 1900's This is a rather spectacular Regency Style Convex or Bulls Eye Mirror which I rescued from the large dining room in the big house at Cousin Emma's place( please see below) The mirror is 30 inches tall and 18 inches wide. It is made of Gilded Wood and Gesso. The top of the banded circle surrounding the mirror. The Eagle and his olive leaves and the bottom foliage scroll work are all gilded with a bright gold. The interior concave circle with the thirteen balls representing the original thirteen colonies is of darker gold and the band against the mirror is painted black. This subtle combination of different golds and black is very handsome. My maternal grandmother. Blanche, who was born in 1879, grew up on the property ... moreand who was the source for most of the information I have of Cousin Emma and the old property, told me that this mirror had always hung in the large dining room for as long as she could remember. She also told me that she remembered that when her father, Hezekiah Cawood, died in 1924, this mirror was draped and covered with black crape. I don't have an exact idea of the mirror's age. But I would have to suppose that it dates to sometime from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The mirror is in very good condition with no significant damage. Some of the gilding has age appropriate wear and the Eagle's wings appear to have been repaired at some time. The glass of the mirror has no scratches at all and reflects beautifully. It has just a very few and small age related streaks which add authentic character to the mirror. The photos give a very good idea of the elegance and beauty of this fine old mirror. This rare pair of gold-colored convex mirrors measures 5 inches across each. The eagle atop of each one has a wingspread about 2 inches. D's pieces are extremely well detailed. It's color is two toned, sort of a gold and brown color. There are 64 points on the outside and 32 points on the inside. It has a convex mirror. There is paint damage and cracking of paint as would be expected with aging and will need to be retouched. Please see the pictures to see the condition of the mirror. Antique Victorian Convex Gold Gilt Wood Gesso Federal Eagle Framed Wall Mirror
This is a fantastic antique Federal Eagle crested convex wall mirror with 13 balls around the frame signifying the 13 colonies. It is an original antique piece from around the turn of the century. The frame and glass are in excellent condition. Nothing is missing, or broken, the gesso is 100% complete, the crest and decorative piece on the bottom are tightly intact and not loose or cracked, and the mirror doesn't have any missing silver or age spots. The frame might have been re-painted at one time, but if it was, it was long ago and not obvious. Some of the 13 balls have recently been touched up where the paint was chipped(shown in the close-up of the ball) but the touchup paint matches nicely. The gesso has some shallow hairline cracks typical for its age, but nothing is loose. One of the eagle's wingtips has a small area of paint ... morechipped off. There is a new piece of cardboard and new nails on the back along with new eye hooks and a new hanging wire(in my opinion though, the hooks are too small and the wire is too thin so replacements might be necessary. The outer dimensions of the frame are 31" H x 21" W. It will be packed very well. Double boxed, and insured during shipping. It is guaranteed to arrive safely.

It is made by the Carver's Guild which is located in Grafton.Ma and has been hand making mirrors for the last 40 years. The mirror measures 33 inches in diameter, the glass is approx. 22 inches in diameter. The mirror really looks impressive in person, it is a deep carved frame and of impressive size. The gilt finish is in perfect condition. It is in perfect physical condition with no damage. I actually went to the Carrver's Guild web site and discovered that each one of these sells wholesale to furniture and decorator stores for $2,250 and those stores usually mark it up double, so the people probably paid around $4,500 for this.
