I am unsure of its age but am guessing that it's at least vintage based on the crazing of the finish and the dust embedded in the groove of the handle. It does not have any cracks. Chips, or breaks but does have imperfections as shown in the pictures. It has minor scuffs/rub marks around the widest part. It is 7-1/2" in height and about 5" at its widest. Awesome Vintage Brown/Cream 1/2 Gallon 8 1/2" Jug Pitcher. Has a wonderful almost salt-glazed finish to it. In Excellent condition with no cracks.Chips or scratches.The inside is the brown glaze. No markings on the bottom. You can feel the potters wheel marks on the bottom. Quite a heavy pitcher 4lbs 2oz. Would go great with any decor. Take a look at the pictures.

It is a 1 gallon shoulder/whiskey jug. It has the maple leaf logo on the front. The jug is about 10.5 inches tall and just under 7 inches in diameter. It was preowned but was very well taken care of. I see a few shallow chips on the front rim(where the white portion begins) There is a 3 inch rough section along the rim on the back, as well as a small hairline crack. There is a small spot on the mouth of the jar where it wasn't completely covered with the brown glaze. I believe any other imperfections I see are only production flaws. This is a nice Vintage Racoon Mountain Stoneware Crock Jug that helf Sorghum Syrup. It is a 1 Quart size and stands about 6 1/2" tall and is about 4 1/4" in diameter. There are no chips. Cracks or fleabites. It does have a glaze pop on the side below the handle. The"pop" is about 3/16th" long and 1/8" wide. The jug is marked on the bottom"USA" so I am not sure of the maker. There is no zip code on the Syrup companys' address so it most likely was made before 1964. It is a nice collectible stoneware jug. Please let the photographs complete the description. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Nice old one gallon whiskey shoulder jug from Western Stoneware Co. in Monmouth. IL. It has been used and shows some wear mainly around the bottom. There is a surface crack around the bottom(pic. 4) but the jug doesn't leak. The bottom edge has a couple of chips, see pics. 5-6. There are a couple of spots where the brown shiny glaze wasn't applied uniformly at the factory. I do not have a cork for this jug. Shipping allows for double boxing. Vintage Moonshine Whiskey Jugs - Brown and Beige - Lot of 2 - 14 in and 1 ft
These were recently found in my late great-grandfather's old farmhouse. The big one is about 14 in. tall and about 8 in. in diameter. The smaller one is a little bigger than a gallon of milk and stands about a foot tall. As far as age. The old house has been abandoned for at least 30 years, so it's anyone's guess. There are no markings regarding manufacturer on either. Both have a glaze and are heavy, solid pieces. As seen in the photos, there are subtle random markings which, judging by similar items, seem to naturally occur during manufacturing. Neat find.

Is 4 1/4" across at the base and holds about 1 quart(actually almost a cup more will fit all the way to the top of the neck) It is in very good condition. There are numerous bumps and raised areas on the surface. I discovered that t he cork is still inside when I added water to measure the jug's capacity but I could not get it out.

VINTAGE Whiskey Jug Stoneware Pottery 2 1/2 Gallons Cork Crock Handle Saltware
Here is a Vintage Stoneware Whiskey/ Water Jug with a Handle and Cork. It belonged to my in-laws and has been in storage for a long time. If the whole jug is filled it is 2 1/2 Gallons(it has a small corn cob in it that had been used where the cork is) It measures 14 1/2" Tall. 9 3/4" in Width. It weighs almost 10 lbs. empty. I don't know if this is what is considered saltware as there are no markings that I can find. It is in good condition. There are some chips and a very small crack(it only appears to be in the glazing and does not go all the way through, please see pics) I will ship it as cheap as possible and it will include insurance. This is a really nice 1 gallon shoulder/ whiskey/ cider jug with cork. Marked on the bottom Red Wing Stoneware Co. This company was from Red Wing, Minnesota. The condition is very good– no cracks, no later years chips, on the shoulder edge there is a flaw that is glazed over, probably from manufacturing. There are 2 glaze pops and a couple rough spots. Having lived in Northern Michigan, I've seen quite a few Red Wing jugs& crocks– the condition of this one is a lot better than many I have seen. The cork looks old but I have no way to know if it's original or not. Measures approx. 10 3/4” tall by 6 3/4” jug diameter. Please look at the photos& ask any questions you might have.
