Antique Beehive 8” Tall Stoneware Jug
This small handled jug(half gallon. Possibly) is in very good condition. It has a semi-glossy glaze that covers the side and 1” into the lip interior. Besides minor scuffing, its only from-use blemish is a crack on the lip. During manufacturing, some glaze has dripped to the bare ring at the bottom of the jug. The provenance of the jug cannot be determined as it has no markings. It has a handmade quality in the irregularity of the cylinder and glaze drips along base. For sale is a beautiful Antique European Blue Decorated Stoneware Jug. 8 1/4 Inches Tall. And is unsigned. As discovered at a recent Bucks County Pa estate auction. This jug comes from an estate with Multi generations of wonderful antiques. I'm not a stoneware expert so please review photos. There are a couple of chips to the edge(see photo) which seem to happen prior to the glazing. 3 DAY AUCTION! This is for a lovely antique stoneware jug with diminuative proportions and a quaint decoration of cobalt and white lines applied to the wall of the jug. The size is attractive. Standing 9 inches tall with a 6 1/2 inch diameter. The jug is in very good condition. It does have a small, flat chip on the bottom rim which is barely visible, and there is some glaze imperfection on the bottom rim which I think is from manufacture. There are a few straw lines, but there are no other chips and no cracks. The unglazed shoulder is soiled, but that's pretty minor. It looks like it has some age to it and there is a lot of crazing. I don't know if it originally contained shave lotion or not. The inside of the jug looks like it is glazed and is a brown color. There is one chip on the bottom of the jug near the edge(please see photo) it looks like it is an old chip to me. It looks like ... morethere is a small chip on the top of the opening of the jug but the brown color and glaze cover this chip so I think the chip may have happened when this jug was originally being made. This jug had a piece of the old cork inside when I purchased it(it came from an Estate Sale) I was able to turn the jug over and get the cork out. The cork will be included but it is very brittle and falling apart. There is crazing on the jug and it looks like it could use a good cleaning. Other than that. ANTIQUE KNIGHT WARE STONEWARE OR SALTGLAZE JAR SUPER LARGE 2' ACROSS X 38" TALL
ITEM DESCRIPTION: I have up for your consideration from The Treasure Chest: A very large stone type jar with a spout at the bottom. Has two steel bands around it. I moved one of the steel bands up some so I could identify the maker: KNIGHT WARE STOCK 201 75 5 VB. Has a handle hold on each side of the jar. I don't have a clue what this was used for. This is a very heavy jar. I don't have any way to weigh it. The size is: 38 3/4" tall measures about 26 1/2" across the center middle at the top of the jar. I measured around the top all the way around and it is about 6' circumference. It is about 2" thick. It has some real tiny hairline splits but not very bad and a chipped place on the bottom rim and I believe that spot can be repaired also. There are a few paint drips, or splatters, not too bad. The spout has been ... morebroken loose and needs repaired. If that spout was repaired, I believe it would still hold water. As you can see in the pictures this is a very large jar and is very heavy. It would have to be pick up only. I can load it but it would be up to the buyer to have a way to unload it. I think this was something to do with Industry maybe. It weighs 13 ounces. I purchased this miniature jug at an Estate Sale and I don't know how old it is but it does look like it has some age to it. It looks like there is a cork stuck inside the jug along with some small pieces of paper/foil. I don't see any chips or cracks and I can see a little bit of crazing near the bottom. The lower part of the jug looks ... morelike a tan color and the upper area is a dark brown color. The tan color looks like it has some swirls of lighter tan colors. I lightly cleaned the jug with a little bit of water on a cloth. It does look like it could use a good cleaning. There is a little bit of a pink color on the section between the brown and tan colored areas; I don't know if it is a stain or not. This little Whiskey Jug will make a nice display piece! Antique Stoneware Jug Blue Flowers Number 2 w/ Handle 13" Tall
This auction is for an antique stoneware jug. Features a large blue flower on the front face with a 2 just below the mouth of the jug. Measures 13" tall and 8.75" across the bottom. Mouth measures 2.5" across with 2" hole. Jug has a small chip on the mouth and a few dark spots/stains. Still in very good condition. Sounds like there is a cork rattling around in the bottom.
