Antique GLEN GARRY HIGHLAND WHISKY Stoneware Jug Port-Dundas Pottery Co. Glasgow
You are bidding on a vtg/antique Glen Garry Old Highland Whiskey stoneware jug produced by Port Dundas Pottery(Glasgow. Scotland) somewheres between 1878 and when the factory closed in 1930. From the makers mark we are fairly certain this piece dates to about 1901-1919. Around 1920-1930 Port Dundas Pottery begain marking their stoneware with just the words"Made in Scotland" pic 12) Although Port Dundas was in business since 1828, it wasn't until 1878 when they were the first to introduce transfer printing, onto stoneware and advertised they could stamp bottles in color(In this case black) This would have been with a hand held rubber stamp, taken from an etched copper plate. This stoneware jug is in exceptional condition for its age. No chips. Cracks, or repairs. The original cork is missing. The black transfer graphics are still ... morevery clear and crisp. There is a bit of black transfer ink on the neck of the jug. This was common as we mentioned they were hand stamped and obviously the worker who stamped the bottle had transfer ink on his hand. Measures approx. 8" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter. The base is approx. 3 1/2" in diameter. Shipping weight approx. 4 pounds 8 ounces. `0d.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*fc%3E%3E%600d-13d0b0f806c-0xfa-

ANTIQUE 19TH C SALT GLAZED STONEWARE JUG OTTMAN BRO'S & CO FT EDWARD NY BLUE DEC
HUG A JUG TODAY! HERE'S a fine authentic genuine 19th c salt glazed Stoneware Jug to CHEER about. Near as fine collector condition as one likes to find them straight last week fresh plucked out of a one-man thirty year private collection culled locally in his lifetime, for you to reharvest and give new life to once again this brand new Spring 2013 debut listing from Colony Farm Antiques, the hard goods division of Lady Ellens' Fine Ware here on EBay, where we serve reenactors and select collector interests with supreme offerings. The Jug is stamped with OTTMAN BRO'S& CO over FORT EDWARD. NY over a compact tight cluster hand slipped blue scroll coil spray dotted leafy floral cluster typical of slip cup decoration(slip is liquid clay) The decorations sits well mid front to the jug and shows nicely in overall balanced scheme ... moreto the viewer, this one had some thought exercised during manufacture as so many other finds are simply routine, unimaginative, and in some cases, downright hurried and sloppy! The platform neck is well formed and strong, and loop strap rear single handle is tight, easy grip, highly looped, and attached firmly no issues. This is a clean nice stoneware example for anyone's proud display collection. Unmarked to capacity, I would say it is best equivalent to just about 1 1/2 gallon size. Condition Report: One very tiny stone ping above coil spray. Triangular shaped stone ping on right side upper shoulder from which emanates a line of vertical glaze drip. Overall pleasing light grey coloration with a small Texas-state shaped beige blotch to left side midway. This is smooth. Just a kiln color aberration in the manufacture. No kiss marks. Clean sound bottom with tiny felt pad dots to prevent scratching. No fry to cobalt, No hairlines. No repairs. Just HONEST old piece that has sat last 30+ years in a collection in the area in which is was made. Offered here new debut at antique show field trader price-where the buyers descend upon my booth like locusts hungry to purchase Fine Wares

Antique Robinson Clay Products Co. Stoneware 1 Gallon Jug Lamp /Blue stripe
Antique stoneware jug made by the Robinson Clay Products Co. founded in Akron. Ohio in 1856. The one gallon jug is decorated with a very artistic design with 2 sets of blue bands seperated with a white band in the middle. This jug was custom made into a lamp by a lighting firm in Avon, Ohio in 1992 for my home. The base of the jug was drilled and has a turned hardwood base and top with internal wiring. This jug lamp is in great condition with no chips. Cracks, stains or repairs. Works perfectly. There is a tight line extending about 2 1/2 in. from the spout on one side which does not effect the stability of the jug. The lamp is approx 12 1/2 in. tall and 7 1/4 in. diameter base. The height to the top of the socket is 16 in. Nice. Nice decorative lamp. Please review all pictures- they are an integral part of the description so you can bid ... moreappropriately. Please ask all questions before bidding. Payment with Paypal is required within 3 days of auction end. Unless prior arrangements have been made. Shipping to lower 48 states only. Thanks for looking! Antique Stoneware Jug 2 New York Stoneware Co Fort Edward N.Y. 1861-1891
Up for your consideration is this beautiful Stoneware Crock Jug made by New York Stoneware Co Fort Edwards N.Y. New York Stoneware operated in Fort Edwards from 1861-1891 as seen on the front of the jug stamped. This is a good way to date NY Stoneware. If it is stamped Ft Edwards you can figure out it is a great 19th century piece. This jug is a 2 gallon and has the amazing Cobalt Blue Bird so beautifully displayed on the front that has not one piece of imperfections. There are some rub marks on the right hand side of the crock from being stored up against another. But there are NO CRACKS no HAIRLINES to speak of. It has never been broken or repaired. This is the REAL DEAL and i do not have a reserve on this crock. This crock in a regular public auctions setting would start out at around 400$ but not today.I am passing my savings along to ... moreyou. This particular jug was taken from an Estate of a lovely couple who had 3 shops in Fredericksburg VA for years. They did not own anything that was not the real deal. This is one for the ages here. A must for any serious collector. It is 15" Tall the mouth of the jug spans 2.5"the measurement on the bottom is about 8.5" Bid with confidence I guarantee satisfaction, and as my feedback will show. Extremely Scarce 1890's Utah Liquor Co. STONEWARE 1/4 Gallon CANTEEN JUG BOTTLE
Special thanks to David Emett for contacting me to correct the information of the size of this rare canteen. Pretty sure with the photos you have listed that this jug is a quarter gallon rather that a half gallon. I am not aware of anyone who has actually measured the capacity of the canteens but for over 40 years this size is considered the quart. I already have a set but my two half gallons could be upgraded. Your jug is an exceptional example of this rare piece. The rarity of the quart has held but several other half gallon examples have surfaced. The quart usually brings a higher price than the half. The gallon is still the toughest to get.
