Antique Vintage Primitive 2 Tone Salt Glaze Stoneware Jug/Lamp Hand Painted
This is a wonderful old brown top salt glazed whiskey jug measuring approximately 11 inches tall and a diameter of approximately 7 inches. The jug has no cracks but does have a few chips. 4 around the ledge of the jug, 2 of which are not that noticeable because they are located almost right on the ledge and blend in very well. The other two are just below the ledge(see picture 3) This jug also has a small hole drilled at the bottom of the back side for an electric cord(see picture 3) to be used as a lamp. The front side of the jug has an hand painted apple motif. Some of the paint has rubbed off but again does not in any way take away from the beauty of this jug and in fact would be expected for the age. The handle is perfect and the jug has had no repairs. There are some manufacturers defects(see picture 4) the most apparent which looks ... morelike a dent. I think it enhances the charm of this old jug. A beautiful jug for any collector or for decorative purposes.

Today they are known as Denby, a favorite fine English Pottery. The bottom part of the jug is grey texture with posies hand painted over it; then there is a row of cream-coloured beading. Check out my other items! A great early jug with hand painted flowers. The jug is marked DILLWYN Swansea on the base and most likely dates from the early 1800s. The jug is decorated on each side and has a green handle. The body is an earthenware with a tin glaze that is similar to majolica. It is 6 1/2 inches high and 6 3/8 inches wide from spout to handle. It is in fine condition with crazing to the glaze. There are three or Four teeny tiny glaze flakes on the rim. Pre 1900 Hand Turned Albany Slip Jug With Spout
Beautiful antique Albany Slip jug originally made for Molasses. The jug is marked with a capital"A. The"single letter marks on jugs and crocks(especially Albany slip items) were to identify the merchant where they originated from and were intended to be returned to. If you went to the store for a gallon of vinegar and didn't bring your own container. The storekeeper would loan you one. Most small towns might only have one or two stores and a simple capital letter would suffice to prove ownership. The hand turned Albany slip jugs generally date back to pre 1900. It is a hand turned piece and the shape is a little different than usual. You can see the turning marks in the piece. It is also unusual to see spouts on these pieces. Antique American Folk Pottery Hand Thrown Ovoid Stoneware Jug With Drip Pattern
Here for your consideration is an antique American Folk pottery stoneware jug. This is a hand thrown piece. Ovoid in shape, measuring 12 1/2" tall and is 5" in diameter at the base. This has a deep tan salt glaze finish with a drip glaze design and circular rib marks. There is no potter's stamp or other identification marks but the ovoid shape is earlier than the straight sided shape. This would indicate it dates to about the mid 1800's. This is in good condition with some character flaws common in the manufacturing of these pieces like glaze skips and small"grit" pieces. There is a small nick on the belly but nothing that distracts from the beauty of the piece. There is a chip to the lower edge rim but it is glazed over so I think it must have happened during its removal from the wheel and is part of the piece's ... morecharacter. Stone ware Jug Crock Hand Painted signed R. Phillips Dated 64 Folk Art Barn
This is one really cool old crock. With a great folk art scene painted on it. Signed R. Phillips Dated 64' We assume this means 1964. That's a 49 year old painting on a 120+ year old 2 gallon jug crock. 11" tall x 8" widest with a 3 1/4" opening. That's big enough for a large hand to fit into. At seven 7 pounds, its a nice large piece. The bottom of the crock says in pencil. Mrs. Maphine Loy Paint all around(Mrs. Bloomer as gift) Folks this is folk art at its best. Don't miss the good stuff. Take another look. The art is in really good shape with very minimal scratches. Smudges, dirt, rubs, the worst scratching is above the barn on the tree, and below the barn to the left. The scene is 360' There is is a barn. Like a good memory would. The 2 gallon jug is in very good original condition. With tan color spots in the original brown glaze. The jug has minor chipping at the mouth of the jug, and a 1 1/2" x 1/2" chip from the base that has the artists paint on it, so its been there for years. The jug has a wire and wood handle. The wood is chipped. All of these are signs of, a great original piece. No lid or wire lid bale. We pictured the jug with a large 1 gallon jug so you can see that this is a larger than normal sized jug. This type of art was done for people who wanted to remember the farm life of their youth. The set is masterfully hand painted and signed by the artist"Graham" The artist has painted a rendition of currant clusters, making each cluster distinctive. Added also are wonderful variegated green and brown leaves among the currants. Subtle shadings of reds to greens create a pleasing and balanced background. These pieces are in extraordinary condition considering their age. The hallmarks date the set between 1890 and 1907. The jug's hallmark is by PH Leonard. A New York importer using this mark from 1890- 1908. The tray is T& V Limoge France. This is a wonderful piece of Pennsylvania Dutch Art History. This is a whiskey Stoneware Jug with a wooden handle and 2 ceramic holes for the bale. What makes it so special is that it has then hand painted by Paul"Papa" Horning circa 1964-1972. Paul Horning was native PA Dutch. Born in Nov 17, 1884 into a Mennonite family in Berks County. He rejected much of the faith and conservative style. Forced to leave school at the age of 10, he was self educated and actually taught school at the age of 25 for a few years. I don't know anything about its origin.here’s what I do know: Measurement: Handle to handle 5.5” About 6.5" high, bottom is about 3” x 4.5” and the opening at the top is one inch in diameter. It weighs 1 pound. 3 ounces and feels light. There are no markings or signatures on it. Condition: Great condition. Like new. Has the black burn on the outside which makes me think it was pit fired. Stoneware Three Gallon Transitional Shoulder Jug. Hand Decorated w/ White Glaze
For your consideration is a three gallon jug that was made after the manufactured converted the kiln(s) to fire stoneware items with white glaze. But still decorated the items by hand. Most manufacturers started using the white glaze and rubber stamps to apply writing, decorations and size during the middle and late 1890s, but some started using that technology as late as 1902. Yes, that is a 3, I know this by sitting this jug next to crocks and jugs that the gallonage is very legible. The writing is blue. The total height is 15 1/4" and from the table to the shoulder is 10 5/8" The bottom is 9 1/4" in diameter. There are 0 cracks, however on the shoulder are minor to insignificant chips on the shoulder. On the bottom edge, is one larger chip, also there are minor to insignificant chips. Vintage Hand Made Stoneware Pottery White Jug Whiskey Crock
You are bidding on a vintage white stoneware jug. The jug has no lettering. There are 2 chips on the spout and one at the edge of the bottom base. As seen in the photos. There is also a small hairline crack on the underside of the handle. The jug measures 10" in height with a base width of 5 1/2" Possibly used to hold whiskey or moonshine. Hand Turned 1 1/2 Pint Stoneware Jug
For your consideration is a small hand turned jug made of stoneware. This jug holds 1 1/2 pints(3/4 of a quart or 3 cups) of tap water. This jug has a slightly ovoid shape. The top of the handmade and hand attached handle is slightly above the opening. From the table to the rim is 5 1/4" The bottom has a diameter of 4 3/8" There are 0 cracks. However on the bottom edge are several small chips. Around the rim are small chips. On the back of the handle is a very small chip.

18th Century Hand Turned Brown Domestic Beehive Pottery Jug
Antique Hand-Made Ceramic Jug This is a very old hand'spun' piece of domestic pottery. There is nothing fancy about it at all. There are some inclusions in the pottery. Under the glaze but that is very common with the older, home'spun' pieces. They didn't make them to be pretty-they made them to be functional. Check out the image of the bottom of the pitcher. That's my favorite part about the pitcher! You can see how the color was added. Kind of splashed on! Again, nothing fancy and that's what I love about it. Stands about 8" tall

CHARMING EARLY 19TH C.ENGLISH YELLOW WARE MASK JUG ca 1800 HAND-PAINTED, A charming and early earthenware yellow ware jug with a press molded mask spout. Blue slip band, polychrome hand-painted over glaze florals and fruits, brown slip edging, and a white slip glaze to the interior. England, possibly Staffordshire, ca 1800 This charming little jug is quite early. Dating to the late 18th to early 19th Century. The jug measures 3" high to the tip of the spout and has a circumference of 11" at the waist. The handle is applied and the mask spout has a man's face surrounded by a brown beard. The hand-painted floral band in purple and green against the blue slip band on the neck is particularly attractive. There are no maker's marks, and the jug could have been produced in Staffordshire or possibly Newcastle. I am currently offering ... morethe matched pair of plates in a separate listing. Condition The jug is in near mint condition: No chips. Cracks, hairlines, repairs or restoration. The brown edging has a little wear and there is a tiny kiln glaze pop near the handle. A kiln split is located in the interior at the base of the spout. These are mentioned for accuracy and I don't consider them flaws. Guaranteed authentic and offered at a reasonable price.
