Vintage Western Stoneware Co 1 Gallon Shoulder Whiskey Jug Monmouth Illinois This is a vintage piece of pottery from the Western Stoneware Co in Monmouth. Illinois. It is a 1 gallon shoulder/whiskey jug. It has the maple leaf logo on the front. The jug is about 10.5 inches tall and just under 7 inches in diameter. It was preowned but was very well taken care of. I see a few shallow chips on the front rim(where the white portion begins) There is a 3 inch rough section along the rim on the back, as well as a small hairline crack. There is a small spot on the mouth of the jar where it wasn't completely covered with the brown glaze. I believe any other imperfections I see are only production flaws. I have two vintage whiskey jugs. Brown on top and beige on bottom. I cannot find any kind of markings on them. I think they may be 5 gallon judging by the measurements of others that look similar on eBay. They measure approximately 15 inches tall by a 10 inch diameter. Large and heavy. I have a 10 lb. scale and each is over on that so I am unsure as to the exact weight. Will update when possible. I cannot find any cracks, there is one chip on the botton of one jug as pictured.

Antique Stoneware Whiskey Jug Crock 1 Gallon Blue Black Glaze
This whiskey jug was in my grandparents garage for years. It is a gallon ju g made of heavy stoneware ceramic with a glass like salt glaze on the top and inside. There are no markings. The jug has a carved wooden stopper. The glaze is unusual in that the color is not as brown as other jugs like it. But a blue black color except for right around the bottom edge of the glaze which is brownish. The ju g stands 12 inches tall and the diameter is 6-1/2 inches. Thanks for looking!

The glazing on top is of brown swill. the bottom portion glazed in off white. Appears to be a two piece molded handle being put on after the jug mold and then glazed. Shows very little wear and observed no scratches couple of dings here and there. Check the picture. A few pin tip glaze flaws as you would expect. B ottom is lightly glazed in white. bottom is lightly crazed and has a small crack that has not hone through. You can see it in the picture. The 2 gal. jug measures about 14"h X 9" w. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Offered is this small vintage or antique beige and dark brown moonshine whiskey jug. The jug stands approx. 9 1/4" high. Is 5 1/2" across at the base and holds about 1/2 gallon. It is in very good condition. There is a small rough area on the top of the handle which is partially glazed over so apparently done while being made. For Sale is a RARE Vintage 1 Gallon Military Jug" It has the lettering for" 7th Cavalry Col. E. S. Godfrey dated1896. Has a pair of swords crossed in the middle of the front of the jug. No Cracks,No Hairlines, No Chips. Some of the lettering is faded. No makers marks on the jug. It is 10 1/2" tall and 7" round. This is a real beauty and Rare to find a old military jug in this great condition for the age. Hand applied handle. Just a few imperfections in the jug when it was made. Lettering is under the glaze. I searched E.S. Godfrey and found that he was later a Brigadier General and at one time served under General George Custer and was born in Kalida, Ohio 1843 and died in 1932 and was a veteran of indian wars and wrote several books. Antique Vintage 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock Whiskey Moonshine Jug Painted Fisherman Welcome! This is a 3 gallon jug. Standing about 15" high. Somewhere along the line, one of the owners was an artist who painted this cute fisherman with his catch on the front! It's well done! There are a couple of pencil thin hairlines, some crazing, and 2 small shallow chips around the top of the lighter color unglazed part. Please see all the pictures.

The Old Whiskey Moonshine Jug came from a recent estate sale here in New England and is a Tan& very dark Brown almost black and could use some cleaning prior to display. Fantastic very hard to find very large brown. Possibly red wing, bee hive hand turned whisky jug. This is either a 5 or 6 gallon jug. It measures 19" tall. The circumference is a whopping 38" It measures 11 inches across the bottom. I put this next to my other brown bee hive jugs to give you an idea of just how big this jug really is. The next size down in the pics is 13" inches tall. When people list jugs that are 13" tall they call them LARGE. There is a small chip on the lip and there is a hairline crack down the side. This item is listed in its"as is" condition. Please ask questions before you bid. This item is only listed for pick up. No shipping as the item is to large and to heavy.
