This wonderful item being offered is an old. 1 gallon moonshine jug with thumb handle. This nice piece of glazed pottery is almost 12 inches tall and 7 inches wide at the bottom, and weighs almost 6 pounds. This old jug is in good condition. The jug does show wear with scuff marks, dings, etc. and has a few chips on the side of the jug(see last photo) Please look at photos carefully. Very nice. Old, stoneware whiskey jug, in a crock style. I believe it is a 1 gallon size. The top is dark brown and the bottom is a lighter beige. I can find no makers mark anywhere. It has a handle. There are no cracks. It does have two small chips as seen in photos. There are wonderful variations in color around the body that highlights the age and handmade look of this great piece. It weighs 5 1/2 pounds. Measures approx: 12" tall, 7" in diameter across the bottom, 22 1/2" around, 1/14" opening spout. It has a"shiny" surface. I think it was meant for liquor but not certain. Antique Stoneware Crock Whiskey Moonshine Ceramic Jug 1 Gallon with Cork
Large Antique Stoneware Crock Whiskey Moonshine Jug. This is a nice antique or vintage stoneware moonshine jug. It has a brown top and off-white body. The diameter of the base is 7 1/4 inches and it stands 10 1/2 inches high. I assume that it is 1 gallon size. The cork is starting to deteriorate but it still fits in the hole so I am including it. There are no chips. Cracks or any signs of repairs, There is some light crazing and other usual glaze pops and imperfections that all antique stoneware exhibits. There aren't any words or manufacturer marks on it. I got this from the estate of a relative. I am just guessing on the age being in the 1900- 1940 range based on the other items in his collection.
