VERY LARGE RARE SALVAGED ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS FINIAL 4" - ALMOST 1.50 POUNDS !
This is very unusual and rare antique solid brass and very very heavy finial weighing almost 1.50 pounds. It measures almost 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The patina is rich and beautiful! We found this in one of MANY boxes of lighting and door knobs etc. in my fathers basement workshop. We live in the center city Philadelphia art museum area where our 3 story federal style homes were built in the 1870s. People were always throwing the original fixtures out in the 1950s and 1960s to MODERNIZE but my father always collected them. NOW they are putting back what the last generation tore out and threw away. I dont really know anything else about this finial. Thanks for looking at my fathers finial. Fine Quality Vintage or Antique Brass Eagle Flag Pole Topper or Finial
This is a high quality vintage solid brass eagle flag pole topper. The casting show great detail. As in for instance in the individual feathers. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage. It appears that it may have been polished some time ago because there appears to be a bit of polish residue in some crevices. But this was done a while ago because the brass has a patina of age. The base part has 3 threaded holes which were used to secure the topper to a pole. The piece measures about 8 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide at the wing tips.

These very old Finial's are still in very good condition. the big finial's are hollow and are brass measuring 4 3/4" from top of finial to bottom of screw. Finial ball itself measure's roughly 2 7/8" The small three finial's are iron and measure 2 1/8" long.these are painted gold. Good Luck

Offered is this antique finial. Curtain tieback, that is stamped with gold crown. It definately appears to be from the 1800's. This belonged to a family member that acquired many beautiful antiques from the 1800's. The patina'd brass medallian contains the chariot theme with a cherub and 2 lions. The deep green glass is free of any cracks or chips.but the gold trim design is worn! A very large finial that measures 9" long x 7 1/2" wide at base. IT WILL NEED A PLATE PUT ON THE BOTTOM in order to install onto the wall. This is a rare and awesome architectural piece!

Antique brass or bronze figural finial in the shape of a man with a musket.dating to around the turn of the century. This old figural finial has a screw protruding from one leg. And on its' back there is a plate with one screw hole- and a second screw hole is below the plate. This finial would have been secured to some object by means of these three screws.maybe a clock or some other object. It measures 5 1/2" high. The detail is amazing for what it is and how old it is. The man's dress is perhaps 1700s or 1800s.the hair is worn long with a hat. He wears a coat. A kerchief or neck cloth, and high boots. He has a musket at his side.perhaps French or English? Condition is good(graded on a scale of poor. Fair, good, very good, and excellent) The plate on the backside has a crack on two sides, however it's very secure and not ... morea bit loose. Description Antique Brass Heavy American Bald Eagle Flagpole Finial Or Topper Finial was purchased at a local Maine auction. I don't have any background information regarding where it's been. It certainly has some age to it. The eagle is brass. Heavy, and nicely detailed. There is a tiny hole. Through the beak, from one side to the other. I believe this dates from its manufacture. The eagle measures 5" tall from the top of its head to its claw feet. It's 6 1/2" when the base is included. It has a wingspan of approximately 6 1/4" Please view the photos carefully. Vintage Antique Acorn Finial, brass coated? found in a furniture factory COOL
Measures approx. 2 3/4 inches in height by 1 3/4 inches in width. Has some minor surface rust and minor oxidation. I believe a two sided screw went into the bottom with one side a fine thread and another a lag type for screwing into wood. I have a huge box of these. Cool shelf sitters. UP FOR AUCTION IS A VERY RARE AND UNIQUE PIECE OF RELIGIOUS HISTORY. A BRASS WRAPPED WOODEN FINIAL CROSS OFF A CHURCH THAT IS BEING REMODELED IN A SMALL TOWN IN IOWA. THIS CAME OFF THE BELL TOWER WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1904, 8 YEARS AFTER THE CHURCH WAS BUILT. IT'S A WOODN CROSS WRAPPED IN, I BELIEVE, BRASS SHEETING. IT'S BEEN LEADED TOGETHER AT THE SEAMS AND HAS SMALL BASS NAILS TACKING IT AT THE BASE. IT IS 3 1/2 FEET FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BRAS WITH ANOTHER 6 INCHES OF WOOD. THERE IS ABOUT 8 INCHES OF SEAM THAT HAS COME LOOSE AT THE BOTTOM AND ANOTHER ABOUT AN INCH LONG ON THE CROSS PIECE. THE WOOD AT THE BOTTOM IS ROTTED WHERE IT WENT INTO THE ROOF BUT THE CROSS SEEMS TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING IT'S AGE AND EXSPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS. Up for sale is an antique flag or lamp finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good to very good used condition. It is either bronze or brass and appears to be a eagle in flight. There is a small mount hole near the back of the tail and a screw mount on the belly area. Please see the photos for details. It was acquired at an antiques shop decades ago by a family member and has since been used as a decor piece. The open-winged eagle is solid brass and screws onto the orb below it. The pedestal base is also solid brass and has a threaded hole for attachment. The orb is sheet brass and shows usage. The eagle shows finely detailed plumage and other features such as the prominent talons. This was never a"cheap" piece. I have not attempted to polish any part of this finial because I know many collectors want to do their own cleaning/polishing. Antique solid Brass American Eagle Flag Pole Topper Finial Sculpture Statue 1890
Antique solid cast brass Eagle with two tiered dome caps with ornate cast brass curtain sash all around. The Eagle would have been used as a flag pole or lamp pole topper finial. To me it looks like it may have come off one of those old river boat paddle boats because of the ornate curtain like sash around the domes. The Eagle is cast in the old style. It is a two piece cast. The body and wings are soldered together. It is all brass and the bottom dome is painted black. The opening where the pole would go in is 2" inches across. It is in great shape with great details.

We had this vintage finial along with the 30 foot pole for years. But of course we(read'husband' never put the pole up. And all that remains is this great antique brass or bronze finial(it is non magnetic) It's in great condition; most of the original silver paint remains. It measures 9" across. 6" high and the diameter of the hole is 1" and weighs 2 pounds. A perfect top fot that vintage look when you hang your flag. And it's lovely just as a display.
