It's made of solid pine, and has 13 windows and 2 recessed panels underneath. Hardware: The door is not equipped with a lockset. However. We have a good selection of pocket door hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store. If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of antique pine-see"Modification" below. Quirks& Considerations: This door has 13 windows. But no glass lites. We could order the glass of your choice(i.e. beveled, tempered, leaded, stained, etc. and install it-email us for a quote. There are 4 pieces of molding missing. Antique Vintage 2 Panel Interior Door 23X78 F2
Please note: this door has finger joints on the stiles(see pic) Though it is solid wood and not veneered. It looks like these were paint-grade doors that someone had stained instead. These really should be painted! Also,there is a crack near the hole for the lockset(see pic) Here is a 2-panel door removed from an older home. Most likely from the 1950's-60's. The door is in nice overall condition. Though there are scratches, gouges and small holes throughout(see pics) It has a light layer of stain on it, so just a light sanding/hole-filling and it's ready for paint. Any issues with the door are certainly fixable, especially if the door will be painted. Not sure of the wood species but most likely fir or pine. There is no hardware included with the door. There are 2 mortises for 3 1/2" hinges. It is currently set up as a left-hand ... moreswing. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and is finished on one side and painted blue on the other. There are 5 raised panels on both sides of the door. Notice the chamfered(routed) edges with lark's tongue detail bordering every panel-what great Victorian style details! The door was converted at some point into a"swinging door. which means that it was installed with a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The door no longer has it's pivot hinge or push plates. However, just because it was used as a swinging door, doesn't mean that you have to. We could cut off the rounded ... moresides and trim the door to 30"W, or we could cut and then add to the sides to widen it to 32" or wider. The door has a solid, oak core covered with 1/8" oak veneers on one side(green side) and 1/8" pine veneers on the other(beige side) Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Oak is a very dense wood and the door would've warped long ago if it weren't for its veneers. The door has a rare design featuring 4 recessed panels: 1 square panel on top and 3 long. Vertical panels below. Notice that there is no molding around the inner edges of the panels-shaker ... morestyle! The door was previously used as a"swinging door. which means that it had a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. Penn Antique Restoration. Two 26"x78"79" Antique Arts& Crafts Interior Doors w/Single Panels. 2 doors for the price of 1! Handsome. Antique doors salvaged from an old hotel in Northeastern Ohio. There are 3 dents along one of the strips of vertical molding, and there are a few, shallow cracks stemming from the top of the panel, directly below the top strip of molding. On the interior side. There is a deep, horizontal scratch in the upper half of the lock stile. The height was unevenly cut by 1/4" most likely to compensate for a settling foundation or a warped floor. We could evenly cut either door. And we could also adjust them to fit your opening-email us for a quote. Door#3: The door was originally a part of a pair. And had slidebolts(flushbolts) installed at the top and bottom of it's lock stile, on the exterior side. If you plan on painting or refinishing the door with a dark stain. This will not be noticed or will blend in once painted or finished. Please note: there is a small chunk/notch missing from the lower hinge-side corner(see pic) The white color on the one side appears to either be a stain or very thin paint(you can still see the wood grain through it) Here is a 2-panel door removed from an older home. Most likely from the 1950's-60's. The door is in nice overall condition. Though there are scratches, gouges and small holes throughout(see pics) It has a light layer of stain on it, so just a light sanding/hole-filling and it's ready for paint. Any issues with the door are certainly fixable, especially if the door will be painted. Not sure of the wood species but most likely fir or pine. There is no hardware included with the door.
