A very finely made antique. Circa 1810, Federal, or Sheraton, flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany secretary desk over chest of drawers. Two piece construction. The top section has two narrow drawers over two doors that open to two cubbyholes each with slots and two narrow drawers. Below is the chest, the top with a pull forward mahogany writing frame and original green felt. Below are four graduated drawers. It retains all the original brass knobs, locks, and brass escutcheons. The case is on four turned mahogany legs, solid mahogany case boards. It measures 56" tall by 41-1/2" wide by 20-1/2" deep, the writing frame 38" by 13" the felt surface 34" by 11-1/2" Very good plus condition: original finish, attractive butterflying of the flame veneers. A very fine antique. Circa 1830's, Empire style solid and flame veneered mahogany tall chest of drawers. There are two bowed drawers over five graduated drawers. All retain their locks, five brass key holes(two brass missing) and twelve original brass bail pulls. The case is on front carved claw feet supporting tapered full found pillars having flame mahogany veneer, with carved capitols, and squared carved rosettes above. The drawer fronts are butterflied flame mahogany veneers, the drawer interiors in maple. The drawer undersides are chamfered. The solid mahogany case sides have recessed mahogany panels. Chest measures 58-1/4" tall by 45" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish, some chipping to claw feet, minor veneer chips at top edge of two long drawers. Top two boards without cracks or ring spots.

Antique English Mahogany Bow Front Chest of Drawers 19th Century
Antique English bow front regency chest of drawers with matched cross cut mahogany front. Pencil molding with turned mahogany pulls centered with etched mother of pearl inlay. The two over three dovetailed drawers rests on turned legs and a scalloped skirt. Dimensions are 47" in width, 20 1/4" in depth and 45" tall. This piece has a beautiful wood grain. Deep patina and original finish. The chest has appropriate signs of wear, some pencil molding is missing on the side of two of the drawers, some chipped veneer, and one of the pulls is missing the lower part of its turning. The drawer pulls appear to be replacements, although the pull for the compartment, plus lock and escutcheon appear to be original. Antique Child's 19th C. Primitive Mahogany Chest of Drawers-Folk Art- AAFA
Read all of this and look at all the photos. This little mahogany childs chest of drawers came out of a Boulder estate last week. All original. Nothing altered little chest is 10 1/16" back to front and 13 1/8" side to side, and 13 1/2" high, with the back splash 2 1/2" The alligator finish is irregular and has a water stain on the top. I didn't want to mess with it. This little gem looks like 1850 period and east coast origin. We do see things in Boulder from early Pennsylvania. Certainly no later than 1870. It has many hand cut small nails that have bled into the wood. The four drawers have been painted pink inside at a later period and measure app. 8 x 11 x 2 1/2. The lower left front rail is partially missing and the right back rail is missing. There is an old crack on the top. They really do not distract from ... morethe piece. The sides are slightly curved. The secondary wood is pine. Again. This is a wonderful little chest in unrestored condition that was likely made on a farm on the east coast 150 years ago. A very beautiful antique. Circa 1820, late Federal mahogany bow front gentleman's chest of drawers. The solid mahogany front corner posts legs are fluted and spooled, brass knobs on top drawers, four graduated drawers with original American spread eagle oval brass pulls. The stripped mahogany veneer drawer fronts have string inlay. Nice serpentine skirt around. Pine secondary woods. It measures 46-1/2" tall by 43" wide by 20-3/4" deep. Very good condition: original finish, some finish wear spots on top surfaces. Both side panels with shrinkage cracks, front left foot with crack glue repairs. Includes the key, brass keyholes, and all locks(oddly the lowest drawer never had a lock.

The warm patina of the mahogany has a satin luster that would mesh well with most decorating styles. The outward bow of the facade brings an element of brightening elegance to any setting. The two-on-three style drawers provide a great deal of storage. All of the drawers come equipped with all-brass hardware and lock escutcheons. However there is no key. The edges of the drawers are ... moredecorated with a fine bead molding. Just under the top molding is a handsomely inlaid double end spear design done from satinwood string inlay. The piece sits on a pair of very sturdy shaped bracket feet. The dresser is around 145 years old and in good condition overall. The drawers open easily and shut tight. The brass pulls are fastened securely to the drawers although they are not original to this antique dresser. There is a small chip in one as pictured. The mold around the top has been repaired on all sides. There is also a strong repair on the front right foot. You will find some separation marks in the darker spots on both sides and along the front moulding. There are signs of character building wear on the entire piece and the top has a number of light marks and stains. The pictures are a great representation of the condition. We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous seven drawer period Beidermeier flame mahogany dresser that comes with seven drawers to depicted the seven days of the week. Legend goes that this was designed a long time ago(you can find them nowadays coming out of Germany. Belgium and Denmark) This particular dresser represented the workers seven days of the week and he had the respective clothes with Sunday being the most special day, so it held the most clothes. They were never made with handles and the drawers are opened with the use of a key. Some people argue that the white escutcheon it is a plastic composite and other say it is celluloid. I just say it is very nice to keep it original. This particular chest dates from the 1850s era and is in wonderful condition. It comes with a large original key and all the locks appear to lock, ... morebut we never guarantee our locks to work as they always have to be peeled apart, oiled and maintained as they are very fussy. The chest itself is breathtaking. Look at the selection of the flame mahogany that adorns the face of the hand cut dove tail drawers! The simplicity of no handles is a very stylish move. It has a clamshell molded top and ends with a bun foot that shows signs of the old European wood borers that used to burrow into the wood and they are all gone, but does show signs. It is all good and bug free! The only thing I can see wrong with it is that there was a little chip on the right hand side that the warehouse has professionally repaired and I can’t even see it in the photos. It is all original with even the original chamfered back. It comes apart on top to the second drawer of the base if you want to make it a little shorter for shipping.
