Used old Rooster made of metal found in an old barn. Maybe it went on a weathervane? it is 9 1/2" tall. Thank you for bidding on my auctions. If you'd like to add insurance. Authentic, Early Vintage, Copper Lightening Rod Weathervane
Not a repop. This is the real thing. This came out of my Grandparents' Estate and my step-grandfather, who passed about 10 years ago, was a lightening rod installer from roughly 1940-1980. This was in his garage with a collection of other vintage items, several of which I've already sold to happy collectors! This is a beautiful piece with great copper patina. See pics! Antique Vintage Cast Iron Arrow Weather Vane metal sign steampunk primitive art
This weathervane was definitely very ornate for its time. It is cast iron with an arrow at the tip and a rectangle for a stained glass insert at the other end. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. Great auction find out of Conway South Carolina. Weathervane has a great deal of aging and patina. The metal showing threw is a white metal. No damage seen as far as broken off pieces or gouging. Judging by the style of the font. The hardware and the type of metal I am putting this items age at 1920's or 30's. Over all height is 42" height of rooster is 14" length of rooster is 14"Looks like rooster was painted white with some red through the tail feathers. Most of paint on face still present. Overall weight is 6lbs before being packed.

This lightning rod is very old- all of the iron parts are rusty and the copper? finial has great green patina. A strong magnet does not stick to the finial. The twisted iron is one solid piece. Not wires twisted together. It measures 52 1/2" tall, has a 3 legged base, and the legs can probably be spread to make it stand on its own. The twisted rod moves freely up and down in the base guides. The finial is marked KRETZER ST. LOUIS- see photo 4. Please see the other items I have listed. And all 5 are guaranteed OLD AND ORIGINAL, and not reproductions of any kind(we dug them ourselves out of a basement, and though we could not find the rod, the owner remembered there being one in the past. Each will benefit from a gentle cleaning, as we wiped a small area of that brown stuff around the rims, and it came off fairly easily. The animal from the fin of the weathervane is missing. But another may be attached. I supplied the two vintage blue glass balls. All I remember about this item is I purchased it off Ebay 10 years ago for 95.00. I remember it was pre 1900 and the person had photos of where it was from. It came off a victorian house in Pennsylvania. I dont have the photos anymore. I was going to use it for a mixed media art project but never got around to it. Early vintage Kretzer Lightning Rod Weathervane. Rare piece with glass panel intact. See pics for better idea of condition, but I would say this is very good. The paint looks original as it has a nice patina going, but it is possible that it is a very old re-paint. Looks great nevertheless! I left the patina on the metal and glass undisturbed. Very nice, rare piece. I haven't seen one like it on eBay and I may be underpricing the starting bid, but we'll see where the auction ends up! Very Rare, Early Vintage 3.5" Ruby Glass Lightning Rod Ball, Embossed On Rim
This is a very rare 3.5" Ruby Glass Ball with fluted ribs. It looks to have the correct embossing on rim; it is faint. But you can make out"PAT JULY.77" This came out of my Grandparents Estate. He was an electrician and rod installer from roughly 1940-1980. This was packed up in his barn with other items. Also, I sold the another of this type ball awhile back to a collector and he confirmed it authenticity. So, with all that, I'm confident that this is an original and not a reproduction. WHITE PLEATED MILK GLASS LIGHTNING ROD BALL FASHIONED INTO LAMP
This lamp was put together with elements from at least three sources. The base is cobalt. The neck is deep purple, and the connector and cap are brass. The pleated white milk glass lightning rod insulator is the outstanding feature. The total lamp makes an attractive shelf piece if you don't scrutinize it too closely as there is some paint used to cover adherent. It is 10 1/2" tall from base to cap. The bottom edge of the base shows some irregularities.

There is no reserve on this great looking antique lightning rod ball. We are pleased to offer this antique lightning rod ball in the“doorknob” shape. This shape is one of the harder ones to find. It is in the milk glass white. And is in excellent condition. There is some normal roughness on each end of the ball, but it can easily be covered with caps. There are no chips. Cracks or stains. We think this would be a welcome addition to anyone’s collection. The measurements are 4 ¼” high x 4” across the midline. The holes measure 7/8” at one end and ¾” at the other. Beautiful copper acorn points. This is the real deal. Not a repop. It came out of my grandparents estate. He was a rod installer. Vintage Lightning Rod Collectible Tin Sign: 13.5x19.5, Great Colors, Graphics!!!
Beautiful tin sign that is perfect for both tin sign collectors and lightning rod collectors. Great colors and graphics! Interesting subject matter. Vintage Folk Art Weathervane (50's-60's), Dog Motif
The folks we bought our 1925 house from moved here in the late 1950's. And according to neighbors they promptly took down the original weathervane and put this one up. I don't know much about it other than it is in pretty decent shape for its age, has a dog motif, and a pretty simple folk art feel to it. I'd conservatively put the vintage on it to the late 50's, early 60's in that case.
