Four Fantastic 1840's Period Finials
Up for auction is a most ornate set or 1840's period bed finials. These are beautiful period original finials from a bed frame that could not be salvaged as a bed. Finials are in excellent condition with natural age cracks and mortise holes on one side. These can be cut up further to avoid the mortise hole. These are very dense finials that would have come from trees growing in the 1700's. I am unsure of wood species that make up these finials. Finials are 22" tall x 3.25 x 3.25" thick. Antique Soldered Tin Folk Art Cupola Architectural Roof Ornament Flame Finial
This auction is for another great example of the 19th century tin nockers art. This Cupola is made from soldered galvinized tin and sports a really nice flame finial on top. The dimensions are 15-1/4" square and 20-1/2" tall. It is in very good structural condition with a heavy layer of multiple coats of paint the paint has flaked off in many areas revealing the historic record of previous colors.and the galvanic zinc. This will make a great roof, garden or house ornament. It can be attached directly to a flat roof or a wood base can be simply made to saddle a gable pitched roof. There are some tiny holes(visable in photos) these are from incomplete solder joints when it was made and a few in the flame are from the metal being stretched and work hardened when it was made. they are not rust holes.

For sale is an antique solid brass or bronze American Eagle finial that was found in my grandmother's attic while closing out her estate. Measures approximately 5" tall(when standing flat on base opening) and approximately 7" from wing tip to wing tip. Threaded stud is either 3/16-24 or 1/4-20. This piece is HEAVY! Since my grandmother passed away and we are tasked with closing out the estate. There will likely be other Americana, vintage and antique brass faucets, antique porcelain light and bathroom fixtures, as well as vintage and antique Singer, White and Standard sewing machine and treadle pieces and equipment. This is a superbly cut crystal newel post with ornate brass or bronze hardware. The newel post has been mounted on a white marble base. The post including the marble base is 6 1/8 inches high. The crystal post itself is 2 inches in diameter. It is extremely well cut and may be baccarat but we cannot find a signature. There are some tiny chips. Please see photos for details.

1896 Architectural Salvage ZINC Victorian Roof Top Finial turret Cap Corbal
Very interesting piece of Victorian architectural salvage. Circa 1896. I have a photograph that shows this piece as it once was, on the top corner of a building on a Main Street in Michigan. The piece was on top of the building in the corner. Originally there was two of these on the building. The brick building was once in Armada Michigan, on their main street. Years ago, about 40, the building caught on fire, and a friend of mine got this piece in the wreckage. The piece was not damaged by the fire. No signs of smoke or odor. My friend has had the piece in storage all this time. The piece would make a great wall hanging. It is a one of a kind piece, in all my years of buying salvage, this is my only roof piece. The piece is made of zinc and measures: 33 1/2" tall x 12" deep x 17" wide. Has a weight of: 11 pounds. Not the original ... morepaint. It also looks like some adornments on the face are missing. But it could also be an artichoke or a pineapple.large, textural, makes an interesting object in home or garden decoration.
