Ornate Victorian Era Mantle Columns to Repurpose~Carved Walnut~Shabby Elegant!
Beautiful old carved walnut columns that were likely removed from a Victorian fireplace mantle. It appears that someone later mounted them on walnut veneered boards. And someone slapped some paint on one. The paint comes off pretty easily…I was scratching some off with a fingernail. There is old water damage, but it only affected the backing board, not the walnut columns. They have chips and some damage. But would be beautiful repurposed into something else. They each measure 40” x6” x 3” In response to a question: How fully round are the columns? The columns are half-columns. As if a full column was cut in half.the last four photos shows the side views and the views of both ends.

So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. Nopenopenope- I'm not finished with the farm auction architectural and hardware- I still have looooots of lots- it's like opening a treasure every time I open a box. I'll have new items this week. What I have here is a lot of 5, vintage solid oak turned wood staircase balusters. ... moreIt's a matching set, and they are gorgeous, with a patina that I'd describe as a dark medium. Each one weighs just over 1 1/4 lbs, and measures 30 5/8" longest. That's measuring from the flat end on one end, to the"like a stairstep) raised end on the other side- like the ends on either side in photo 8. The balusters measure 1 1/2" square at the ends, and go down to about 1 3/8" in the center where the wood is turned. They are all in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The finish shows some wear, with one that has more wear on one side than the others. There's very minor scratches, scrapes, nicks and dings that you really have to look for. Two of them have rusty nails that have been pounded down sticking out one end- see my photos. I see some light hairline cracks from age and the dry winter- but very minor and no movement at all- these are strong and beautiful and ready for you! Please ask if you have any questions. Here is an old antique hitching post. It is wrought iron and heavy as all get out. It measures about 35" high alone. I threw in the metal horses head. But it does not fit and you'd have to attach it some how if you wanted it on there. It is from a lamp(mid century) and has a hole in the top as shown in the last photo. Antique Pastry Shop Figures Completely delightful pair of antique wooden half columns came out of an old pastry shop. Painted on handcarved/sawn pine. The two ladies have green clothing with a"lace" bib, and red hair. Because they are handmade, there are slight differences in sizes and the painting. They stand approximately 22-3/4" tall x 7-3/8" at their widest and weigh a little over 4 lbs each. They have German look to me. Perhaps they came from a German-American bakery? When I purchased the pair several years ago at an antique auction. I was told they were early 20th century. Wooden items are very difficult to date, so it's possible that they are older than this or slightly more recent, but they definitely have age. As shown in the photos, the wood has shrunk in places, which happens with antique pine, and has exposed ... morea knot in the middle of one of the ladies. On top of the capital is a wood topper. I love the fact that this fluted column is squared. This piece reminders me of a column on the tv show Vanderpump rules on bravo. Salvage like this is really hard to find. The piece has a very chippy white patina. It measures: a little shy of 61" tall. The base is around 9 1/2" on each side. COLUMN CAPITAL CAST IRON ANTIQUE VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL DECORATIVE ARCHITECTURAL
You are viewing a very rare and beautiful architectural item from the" Cast Iron Building" age of the 1800's. A cast iron column capital that was used by architects to decorate building columns which may have been entirely cast iron or heavy wood timbers. This is part of a four piece set. One for each of the four sides of a square column. The our sides were attached with bolts through the bolt holes. It looks very heavy, and is at 20 pounds. This piece has a great patina with traces of old paint and some expected normal rusting. The dimensions are: 13" high x 15" wide x 1" thick at the thickest point. It makes a great architectural decorative item which can be displayed on a wall, shelf, outdoors or just about anywhere. Rare pair of matching late 1800s walnut newel posts
This is a very rare find 2 matching late 1800 newel posts made of what I believe is walnut.They came from 2 homes next to each other in Newyork being totally renovated.I also will list the handrails and spindles from the same home but the handrails appear to be matching walnut to these large newel posts and the spindles seem to be oak.They are around 54 inches tall and 9 and 9-3/4 inches wide and are complete with only a few small pieces of molding missing as pictures show.There are no cutouts for steps and only the screw to attach the handrails as far as weight my guess is 50-60lbs.This is a super nice item to install on opposite sides of a stairway or entrance.As stated I believe the wood is walnut with very nice color and grain where the paint is off in spots restore this back to the original look and they will be amazing in any ones home.For ... moreany other info email or contact Vinny 1-631-300-7403 thanks.

Antique Mission Style Colonnade- Circa 1905 Pine- Columns. Pilasters and Trim with Egg and Dart Detail. The overall dimensions are 115 3/4" x 112" tall x 11 1/4" deep. The jamb thickness is 5 5/8" and above the pilasters, the casing is 113 1/4" wide outside to outside. Each pilaster base is 19 1/2" x 9" x 25 1/2" tall. This is a complete, absolutely beautiful colonnade that has an very nice varnished finish with a beautiful aged patina. Please Note: This colonnade is complete and ready for installation as follows: The two pilasters are complete with all original trim intact. The columns are complete with all original trim intact, the two pediments are complete with all original trim intact, and the three jambs and four side casings are all original as individual pieces. Fantastic Winged Lion Support Pedestal Sculpture Component Griffin
This mythological beast is a phenomenal wood sculpture. Resting on a finely detailed"knuckled" claw foot. The beast leans forward with spread wings. The animated face is expertly sculpted suggesting the piece may come to life. As a decorative component, it functions well aside a sofa or chair providing a stable place to rest a drink, book, glasses, etc. The dimensions are 24" x 16" x 5.5" This item was consigned by a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects. This piece should be shipped separately due to its weight.
